For those of you to whom it means anything: Yes, I'm hoping to be able to be somewhat Kerriganian in Ulciscor's spell fluff. :-)

Apologies on the "position, then move," thing. I saw the instructions, but somehow it didn't compute in my head that we were going to all place ourselves, and then start the round actions. Then everyone seems to have just followed me along.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

Yeah, my IC post was just describing my "pre-initiative standard action" before actual initiative started, but I must have misunderstood something. If we want to make his first actual initiative round casting Shield I am fine with that as it was my plan before we were given a free standard action preparation.

No, the pre-initiative prep was as a result of Kevkas' question re: prep time during the travel to the gate. In previous games I've sometimes allowed pre-initiative prep if you know a fight is coming; this time it slipped my mind.

PbP combats can easily become a disorganized mess; it's why I'm being such a stickler about positioning and announcing actions. I'm not normally a stickler. Okay, sometimes I am. But not normally. But sometimes.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

I just found out that I cannot edit the Google Drive from work because our browsers are outdated. Unless someone gets to it before I get home, I'll edit that when I get home.

It won't make any difference on this attack, Innocent, but I believe your attack roll should have been 1d20+3 rather than +4. Combat expertise giveth (+1 dodge bonus to AC) and it taketh away (-1 to melee attack rolls). Taking the +1 from your arcane pool would balance your attack bonus back to +3.

Also, I'll move you - as long as you guys tell me which square you're going for, moving you is a snap. Also helps me not to have to recount your steps and reposition you if an accounting error is made.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

The threatening defender trait negates the -1 on the attack roll. Unless I misunderstand the trait.

Nope, you didn't misunderstand it, I failed to notice it. I really should have vetted the traits a little better when there was still time, especially non-core ones.

Just to help me going forward, if you guys have any situational traits that affect your rolls, please make sure you're itemizing them in your descriptions. Once I get used to them I won't need that aide any longer, but for now, it'll help me make sure the math is right. I like to give my players every possible advantage and break, but the math? The math I need to play by the book.

Also, at Innocent: depending on how locked down your workstation is you might be able to use a portable browser on a usb stick to ensure you have an up-to-date browsing experience.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

A good suggestion. And if you need me to change threatening defender it is not a problem. It seemed advantageous for a magus who will be more combat than caster, but if it breaks things it is easy to replace!

No, the trait is a good one for a smart n' casty melee type. I've just gotta make sure I'm looking at traits and seeing how they influence the numbers going forward.

I'm going to have to move for Dorn if he doesn't take action soon. I don't always like moving for spellcasters - spells are such a limited resource.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

Ah. Fighting next to Dargrim is like going to a Gallagher show!

If Dorn hasn't posted by early afternoon I'll DMPC him again. Hope his struggles with government bureaucracy have cleared up!

Yes and no. I've had a brutal work week as well. I just need to survive today, sleep until noon tomorrow, and I should be back to posting regularly. I am exhausted.

Okay, so the coinage alone when transferred to Gold Pieces, ends up being 105.98 gp.

Or 105 gp, 9 sp, and 8cp which is roughly 17gp, 6sp, and 6cp for each player.

Looking over the current loot, Dorn isn't particularly interested in any of it. He does need to buy about 10 mundane crossbow bolts for 1gp. Is there a general store in the area?

I realized after the fact that I foolishly did not give myself a ranged option for combat at character creation, so I will be snatching one of the composite longbows and a quiver of 50 arrows. :)

Sorry guys, horrendous day and not a moment to post! Back to it tomorrow morning!

May be tough to get a post in today as needed. Performing at an Elementary school arts day. Kids are the bomb. :)

Hope it goes well! Break a leg?

Have fun Innocent!

I'm going to be AFK most of tomorrow due to attending a birthday. Lioslan will go with the party (presumably to the vicinity of the mines) and keep an eye out for trouble.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

Great thus far. Kindegartners have some difficulties with the interrogative, though, haha.

"All right, kids, d'ye have any questions for us?"

"Yeah! My birthday is May 13th!"
"We used to have a piano but then we gave it away to my aunt because she got sick."
"I like heavy metal."

(I threw the horns to the last kindegartner as a matter of principle. He returned them.)

We seem to be on a break! A very temporary one I should hope.

Hey Innocent, your phone has you putting your blade at the orc's left "breastfeeding," while funny, probably not what you were going for.

Gotta love autocorrect. ;-)

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

Naturally. Orcs are not weaned on breast milk but on the blood of pretty elves.

We should react maturely to this obvious autocorrect error.

gold elf fighter 2, HPs: 20/20 - AC: 18|14|14 - For:+3 | Ref:+4 | Wil:+0 - Init:+4

It has to be pretty elves. There are no other kind.

;P

I like how I cannot edit autocorrect fails, so they must remain for posterity.

Did we lose Gyro?

Just to clarify something: I think Innocent's add-on of MW weapons was for the additional job of securing the mine, and not bringing the miners home safely (or providing proof of death). I don't know if the actual goal of securing the mines was part of the original offer or not.

Can we get clarification on that?

EDIT: Nevermind. Post#1 says

DM Locke wrote:

Brave souls needed!

The town of Leilon calls for brave adventurers to undertake a journey to the mines to our east. We need you to find our missing men, as well as secure the mines proper for Leilon. Sturdy souls with combat experience are preferred. Please assemble at the Drowning Delve at noon today, where the deputy mayor, the honorable Zacharius Malfell, will select candidates and brief same on all relevant details.

Signed this day, etc etc

(Emphasis added).

So, yeah. The 300gp is supposed to include the whole deal.

Innocent was referring to his spoken word about added bonuses and conferring that into a material bonus, as one would have in a contract. :)

Works for me.

What a brutal day! I'll post tomorrow morning. Is it your intention, team, to head straight out for the mines? Some of you might still have some HP damage, spells used up, channels used, etc.

Male Human Magus (Bladebound) 2 (HP 22/22 | AC 16/17 w/Exp | T 12/13 w/Exp | FF 14 | CMD 15 | F +5 | R +2 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +5)

I think you said there was an encampment outside the mine itself. It may or may not be populated, but that is a possible place to rest after the day's travel there.

I did say that there's a mining camp - certainly, nothing could go wrong on the way there, right? ;-)

Male Aasimar Cleric 2 [HP: 14/14 | AC: 17 | T: 12 | FF: 15 | CMB: +2 | CMD: 14 | Fort: +3 | Ref: +2 | Will: +7 | Init +2 | Perc: + 10| Speed: 20'| XP: 535 ]

No one should have any hp Damage now. My last channel healed 5hp, and reached every wounded character, none of whom had more than 5hp damage.

That said, I only have one 1st-level spell and 3 channels left.

Of course, it would be silly to comment repeatedly on the need for haste, and then stop for a nap.

Nothing at all, sir. I believe fate shall guide us to the mine without incident, like a nice brisk walk through Central Park.

Hey, as long as we go through Central Park between the hours of 8pm-6am, we should be fine. All of the criminal-types should be soundly sleeping...right?

Wiener schnitzel! That must be a record, even for me. Ugh. Okay, well, it sort of dovetails into what I must say next:

I've got a crazy schedule the next few days - this whole weekend I'm going away for a work-related training and each day will be long, with some review and homework in the evenings. So, I'm asking if we can postpone the game until this coming Monday (the 30th). In addition, if we haven't heard from Gyro by that time we'll make a group decision on how to proceed.

Apologies, but I can't honestly say I'll even have external internet access or even access to a computer, for most of Fri-Sun.

No worries on my account. Real Life can be a bully to a gamer.

No worries. If push manhandles shove and we don't hear from Gyro, I don't necessarily think we would need to replace the slot. We have a big party as is.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend; I'll be back Monday morning!

Rock on, Wayne. Good to hear about Gyro.

I finally started playing Dragon Age: Inquisition this weekend. My main dude has black lipstick and wears violet eyeshadow. I will wreck Thedas.

I'm itching to play Pillars of Eternity, but, alas, not going to happen today :-( I really enjoyed DA:I, great game. Didn't play a glam rocker though.

I haven't played Dragon Age, but now I'm picturing an adventuring party that looks like Kiss. :D

Heh. I've put about 120 hours into DA:I with my main, with just the last storyline quest left to go. Good game. :)
