DM / Arvinth:
Nathan is on our way back to us? if that is the case then we might as well go patrol the region until you call us back. Any direction Lord Miday wants us to go?

We most certainly not going to be fighting hundreds of goblins by ourselves right now. For the moment our Orders is to continue scouting the area. A team as been dispatched to look inside Castle Gateway he says to the party

"Yes, Nathan ought to be on his way, the scouts sent to Gateway are there to scout out if the place is habitable or not and if there are no signs of goblins, then they'll return."

Arvinth ponders Taliesin's last question and eventually replies after a moment of silence.

"Well the subject has arisen. You're not mobile enough to travel northwards and scout out possible places of refuge, most of the other scouts do that for us now. We need ways out of Heartham and safe routes for evacuation. Keeping an eye out on this camp and their troop movements would be handy Lord Midway agreed, but it is not without risk as goblins are quite quick on their feet and could easily catch you if you're discovered. Perhaps scouting south and keeping an eye on their supply trains and reinforcements would be safer for you as well."

I find it funny that if an NPC tells you not to do something, you immdiately think it's a good idea to do so :) Carry on gents, there will be some scripted events coming some time away. Do whatever you want.

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

Well taliesin is a would be hero who is to young to realize that he just can't win every time... News that heartham might be abandoned is hard on him

Alright friends we have our marching orders: Head South Hit their supply trains and their reinforcements. Nathan is on our way to us.

DM / Arvinth:
Very well we will go south scouting and hitting what ever we find along the way. Stay safe Arvinth. I shall see you back before the siege and i can show you how well i mastered what you showed me. Taliesin will try his best to remain calm during the last part of his sentence.

and so we are going to be moving South DM with order to hit supply trains and get more info etc. Hopefully Nathan will be catching up soon

One of meteor showers would be even more spectacular.

I wondered if the others had something to post in response to that, but I guess they don't.

DM Stuff:
4d100 ⇒ (54, 34, 87, 30) = 2054d100 ⇒ (42, 50, 82, 93) = 2674d20 ⇒ (7, 15, 17, 11) = 501d100 ⇒ 9

The first two days travelling south the weather is quite calm and normal, the mountains and rough terrain of Krewlod looms in the distance and the smoke rising in the distance you saw earlier becomes closer with every mile you travel. The terrain becomes far more hilly and the elevated
As Elenzar checks the map he notices that the place where the smoke rises must be around the same place as where Monn is indicated to be.

At the beginning of the third day, the group of Greenbrookers notices the smell of rain in the air and the morning mist obscures most of their sight. Fog: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 21d8 ⇒ 1

Roll me a Survival check DC 10 or lose your bearings for 1 hour. Spells like Discern North will negate this roll. You can not take 10 or 20 on this one.

When you pack up and get your bearings (either wrong or right), you travel in the direction you think is the right way and after about an hour of travel.

Perception DC 20:
Although the sound of animals chirping and the wind blowing restlessly in the trees, the fog is still quite dense. You can hear footsteps or paws trudging through the mud a little distance away. It seems to be you're not the only beings lost in this dense fog.

Perception DC 25:
Though the voice is faint, you can hear someone muttering to himself on a whispered tone, the voice isn't that close but but surely within or around 100 feet distance to you, slightly more south is your guess. The tone and words are too difficult to understand through the wind blowing, but it's certainly humanoid in nature.

I love it when a plan the rolls come together.

"Oh man. Quite a damp start of the day. By the direction we came though, we'd have to keep going [i]that[/r] way.
I suggest we don't speak too loud, we can't know now if somebody is here or not and.......
sshhh, wait, hear that? We're not alone here."

I can't hear anything.

lol Forfax, I just said you couldn't take 10 or 20 on that Survival roll.
If the majority thinks it's the right direction you'll go the right way or if the one that knows the right way manages to convince the others that's good too.

Well i was under the impression only one person was talking to Ainth otherwise I would have had a lot to say about the fact that watching supply trains is not orders to attack them.

Hey guys we are near this location labled Monn. If its not a general or Warleader I wonder what it is I mean perhaps it is part of the supply train. We should . . . "[/b] He stops when he realizes the others are speaking about not being alone. "oh"

As far as i know we are going south already.

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

right

Taliesin will try to head in the direction where nathananiel voices ?

1d20 ⇒ 4

The mist is still quite thick as Nathaniel makes known that he figured out which way to go without going to far off the way south.

Perception Nathaniel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

When going slightly further south, Nathaniel hears again the soft trudging, but it has drifted off further west, perhaps it's closer now. He is able to hear a soft muttering as the sound moves away.

If nothing else happens, you're able to walk for an hour further south and then the mist clears.

So Nathaniel, you're not telling this I assume? If not then I'll move you onward, but I'd need a definitive answer before I do.

48/48 HP AC 20,Tch.13, Flat 17 Fort+10 Ref+7 Will+9 BaB+4 CMB 9 CMD 21 Human Warrior 1/Paladin 4

"Wait...., Nathaniel holds wide his arm, blocking Taliesin's pace.
"It's there again, but... more to the west, maybe somewhat closer.
Some kind of muttering, almost displeased i reckon."

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

ok lets go find what it is taliesin will track if possible to get a closer look at the voices nathaniel heard

1d20 ⇒ 161d5 ⇒ 2

As you approach, the trudging stops and the muttering has ceased. You as a group walk on slowly advancing through the thick mists until suddenly Elenzar bumps up into a tall humanoid shape in front of him. A big bearded human face stares back at him as he looks up.

The man has large muscles and would almost make Nathaniel feel weak compared in upper body strength. The man has a large helm on his head with four horns, 2 going upward, 2 going downward. He looks down at Elenzar with an inquisitive look.

"Alright, who are you? Someone without manners, not even saying 'pardon me' when bumping into someone! What're ya doing here?"

48/48 HP AC 20,Tch.13, Flat 17 Fort+10 Ref+7 Will+9 BaB+4 CMB 9 CMD 21 Human Warrior 1/Paladin 4

M&M lore......this man be MIGHTY indeed.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Nathaniel steps next to Elenzar.
"I'll pardon for my friend here sir. He is unaccustomed to seeing men who've gained their muscle in combat to this extend like yours.

We are lost in these lands.
I'm Nate (short for Nathaniel to friends), by what name do we address you sir?"

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

i am taliesin flamel, how come you are marching all alone, the surrounding area are filled with goblin and other nasties on the war path.

Male Half-Elf Scribe=Warrior 1/Inquisitor 4 HP 30/30 AC 18 Perception +11 Init +6 Fort +6 Reflex +5 Will +7

Elenzar is a little startled, calming when Nathan and Taliesin are near. "Um sorry, in the mists I did not see you . . . I would have mistaken you for stone from the bump." He finishes with a smile.

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

besides remembering to have played M&M III i have zero lore knowledge :)

The man smiles and laughs heartily as Elenzar apologizes and Nathaniel tries to sweet talk him.

"Har har. Sir? I'm no sir. I am Crag Hack! And those goblins don't bother me, I'm far too well known for them to trouble me." He slaps Taliesin with one hand on the shoulder and clasps Elenzar hard on his shoulder.

Elenzar has the idea that he is held in a vicegrip and Taliesin thinks he just got hit by a ton of bricks.

He looks like this

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

Taliesin wince from the iron grip.

well then well meet, but how come your are so far away from any town? You should be wary neverthe less the goblin army also included worg and one eyed giants and number well in the hundreds if not the thousands near by. he says remainin cautius.

this man could be working with then is they don't bother him.

"Har har har. Goblins are weak, only some of them are worthy opponents. Ogres and cyclopes, now there's a challenge. Little bit of armwrestling against them is a fun thing, though mostly they lose if they don't cheat."

He looks at the lot of you with amusement in his eyes.
"You don't look like any of the Krewlod barbarians to me, also not like any Erathian scout party. What's yar business 'ere? Going south and all."

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

pardon me but are you someone famous of some sort cause you must not have been here long if you haven't heard that this part of "town" have been invaded by a massive army and that we are loosing the fight overall. And yes we are going south trying to avoid the Tatalian barbarian that are also moving against us on top of the goblins. And now that the king is dead.. Well not much back up coming our way.

Male Half-Elf Scribe=Warrior 1/Inquisitor 4 HP 30/30 AC 18 Perception +11 Init +6 Fort +6 Reflex +5 Will +7

Elenzar tries not to wince beneath his grip. "Hmmm it seems your parents were seers to name you Crag . . . or did they chisel you out of the mountains themselves." Elenzar tries his best to offer up an awkward but sincere blustery complement in the fashion he has seen in soldiers.

Before the giant of a man can respond to Taliesin, Elenzars bumps in and leaves the man staring in disbelief at him.
"Chiseled out of the mountains? Har! Now that's a good one!"

He claps Elenzar on his shoulder as well and now he feels the hit of a ton of bricks as well.

The bearded face of the man turns to Taliesin and his brows frown and his lips curl. "Those Tatalian mongrels are on the move as well eh? Good to know. But dun not ever say again that they're barbarians, the only true ones comes from Krewlod. As for me youngster, you could say I'm quite famous or infamous depending on yer view of things. But this fog has messed up my sense of direction, which way is north?"

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

Mind telling us more about that reputation he says with almost sparkles in his eyes

North is that way pointing in the right direction

48/48 HP AC 20,Tch.13, Flat 17 Fort+10 Ref+7 Will+9 BaB+4 CMB 9 CMD 21 Human Warrior 1/Paladin 4

"We came from that direction, so that'd be the north."

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

exactly he replied smiling to nathan

The man taps the greataxe hanging over his shoulder.
"Let's just say this axe has seen a lot of action. Tatalians, Erathians, even some fellow barbarians from time to time. Well if north is there, then I must be going... that way."

He is pointing in a north-western direction, then puts a hand on his beard and scratches his chin. Looking as if he's thinking about something, though you get the impression he doesn't think much at all, more of a 'punch first, ask questions later' kind of guy.

Male Half-Elf Scribe=Warrior 1/Inquisitor 4 HP 30/30 AC 18 Perception +11 Init +6 Fort +6 Reflex +5 Will +7

Do the barbarians of Krewlod normally work with the Baron or Duke that rules Krewlod?

Yes they do, actually the whole nation of Krewlod is considered a barbarian nation filled with what most would regard primitive beings like goblins orcs ogres and more, though not all its denizens are true barbarians. Crag Hack is outspokenly a true barbarian as he says so himself. Also some humans and even a genie call Krewlod home. The nation itself is ruled by a Duke, but it has known its kings before.

Hp 33/33 AC 18 / 14 / 14 (+5 Perc; +5 Init; Fort +6, Ref +4, Will +5)

so you are from Krewlod i take it then. Best be careful cause a few of your compatriots and invading country also. he says raising his shoulder

Do not offend this man, he looks far more than you can handle. I'd knock you KO if i need to, don't let it come to that.

The man makes a noise that seems a mix between a laugh and a growl and looks at you with a gleam in his eyes.

"I know, that's why I'm here. I'm the one that's leading the army." The man says bluntly as he stares you down.

"Ye better be on yer way, I'm gone too. Don't wanna miss a fight. Down south 's harsh for when yer not used to it boy." The man whistles and a stocky looking warhorse comes slowly trotting out of the mists.

"Ye might wanna be careful making much noise in a mist. Never know what ye might find." Crag Hack says as he walks towards the horse.

He...is...leading...Kerwold?! I pray he is just messing with us?!

"One of the generals of Krewlod. I'm 'ere to relieve one of those goblins from his command. Pugwar, Purvat or something his name is. Although Krewlod doesn't have many generals, as more leaders in a fight. There are still some smart ones though. He says as he mounts up on his horse.

Elenzar doesn't have the impression that he is lying or hiding something. Also he doesn't appear all too hostile at this moment.

after the party has left him for a good 1/2 hour Taliesin will take out the communication stone and will notify Arvinth at once about having encountered Crag Hack One of the generals of Krewlod.
