Lady Natalia, will you work your magic and set up a meeting with our benefactors?
Natalia shakes her head "I would prefer to use my shadow candle only for when we far from Absalom. Since we are here, there's a much easier course of action."
Natalia walks over to the bartender, "I'll take an Ice Wine please, and we need to report to the boss as soon as we are able to."
Being the newest team member Jeckyl sits there quietly - watching and waiting.
The bartender smiles and gets the Lady her drink. He waves a hand, and the entire room is engulfed in deepest shadow. When it clears, you are all seated in front of those in charge, including the bartender, Veldrin.
"Afraid we got some bad news if you haven't heard yet. Martil's in jail, we want to bust her out"
Natalia smiles, "Or at the very least, prevent her from talking."
"I suspect that she won't talk quickly...er, she looked like she could handle a bit of pain' He looks at the boss, "Is it feasible to make a quick strike at the jail and how long do you think we have before they realize they made an unexpected tithe?"
Or, mahap you have other connections or means by which to extricate our companion? It appears that our success has drawn the attention of others that want retribution for the stolen chest. I would not want resources improperly allocated for any task.
Martil spends some time examining her manacles and cell.
She is trying to determine if she can pick a lock or figure out an escape route. If she is left alone at any point she will drink a cure light wound potion that's tucked inside her clothing.
Martil is thoroughly searched, however she is left clothed, and therefore the guards to not find her holy symbol. Everything else is confiscated though, including any potions or weapons on her person.
She is still in manacles, but they have just cuffed her hands. She can walk around her small cell, which is about ten feet by fifteen feet. There's a small cot, and wash basin with a tiny, cracked mirror above.
Veldrin nods "We are aware she has been taken. It is not too terrible a turn of events, as we will use her incarceration to further some other goals. We'll pass her a message shortly."
The man sitting in the middle, whom you recall being the nominal leader, rubs his goatee in thought "Do you know who else was interest in our heist? We have a few guesses, but confirmation is always welcome"
Whirrun grunts "Ya, afraid there was another group that got rather pissed off that we got to the chest first. Ya, they knew it was us too. Not familiar with the group myself though"
Jeckyl shakes his head negatively, I've no idea about the other group.
"I am quite certain the letter was from the Prophets of Kalistrade, the white gloved aristocrats of Druma. I've had some experience with them in the past, not exactly a pleasant memory."
The beauitful woman with the darkly purple hair frowns slightly. "As we thought. Not sure why they would attempt to steal the chest, as that is definitely not their style. We will need to confer on what our next few moves should be. Meet back in the common room in two day time, at sunset. Until then, you are free to go about your personal business"
Whirruns clears his throat "Anything we should know 'bout this group? How should we treat them?" he rubs his stubble "And is it fine if we work on the prison break, at least the information part of it?"
"They're pretty much a religion based around getting insanely wealthy, and they strive to remain pure. They wear long white gloves to aid in this. I'm all for making money, but to say they carry that to the extreme is an understatement" Veldrin says.
The woman nods "I would be wary of them. They have vastly more monetary resources than we do, so they can hire any number of incredibly skilled mercenaries to come after you. Which is why their attempt on the chest is so bizarre. Its a fair amount of gold, yes, but nothing really compared to what they could gain in a more legitimate manner. There has to be a reason why they went after it, beyond just the money"
The leader picks up "You may feel free to gather what information you may, on both the prison and potential break out, as well as the Prophets, but that is all. For the time being, we want Martil behind bars."
Whirrun raises an eyebrow. I'd be pissed if they let me sit behind bars. Whirrun looks at the others "I'm sure some of you are more qualified to look into the Prophets. I'll start looking into the prison, anybody want to help?"
"I'll join you Whirrun." She seemed capable but who knows what they will do to get her to break.
I will gladly assist Lady Natalia with the information gathering on the Prophets of Kalistrade, if she is willing?
"Whirrun where are we off to first?"
"Well we could either go to the prison in disguise or find somebody that's been in there before. Either a street man or a dirty guard."
Jeckyl and Whirrun will head to the seeder taverns where some criminal element would be known to exist.
"♫ ♪♫," she whistles the blues in her cell.
Whirrun will lead Jeckyl to Diobel, then heads down to the docks. He points out a few grunts loading cargo onto boats, then follows Jeckyl as they go up to talk to some of the more suspicious ones.
Jeckyl will make small talk trying locate someone with knowledge of the jail.
Confident that Whirrun is capable of covering his back, they approach a small crew of unsavories, "Lookin' for information."
