"I know, I know. Thank you Ephebe. I love my new family." Vai says, releasing the hug to brush away tears. "Sorry, I guess I still cry at the drop of a hat." Vai smiles sadly, and takes a deep breath. "You've been quiet Krays... anything the matter?"
"No, Vai, just being polite. Let's go get some food!"
HEaring Ehos shift, Wyrd looks over and sees the calm in his own heart reflected in Ehos' face.
Agreed; nothing like listening to the rain in the trees. It heals the soul, and calms the fire inside. But, after sitting here in the rain for four hours, you should get yourself dry again or you will get sick.

"Thanks, Ryuzo. It smells great," she said, smiling as she reached for the plate of salmon and rice. She set it down on the small table and motioned for him to sit as well. She bit her lip as she thought about something for a moment before leaning over and lightly kissing him on the cheek. She was blushing and had to jump up and walk over to the far end of the room.
"Th-that was more difficult than I imagined. Ooh, and my heart is going so fast. No, please. Stay there. It's easier if you just don't move. I'm sure I'll stop feeling panicked in a couple of minutes. Sorry."

"Wow you must really like salmon. I'll have to make sure it's served more often."

"Besides, as awful as she is, I did learn a lot from her....More of what not to do as an instructor than anything else, but still a lot."

He'll enjoy dinner with Nala, then leave her alone to work on the psychic surgery, if she wants.
Feeling a bit better for having a meal and a distraction, Nala gets back to her study materials.
"Um, are you planning to go to the talent show?" she asks Ryuzo before he leaves.

"Well, unless you have more questions, Vai, I should probably go talk to Uncle Ryo and see if I can get this mess with my schedule resolved."

"I'll be back in a few minutes probably. Depending on how busy Uncle Ryo is and how long I have to wait to talk to him."
"Oh, right...the other kind makes you get sick before breakfast."
he says with a teasing smile, then gives her a kiss."I'm going to go over my tomes in the room. See ya after Ryo!"
He gets up and heads back to the room, and uses an unseen servant to tidy up the room, having it fold and care for all of the stuff Ephebe brought home from shopping.
Kitty sighed and picked up Saffire, cradling him gently as she examined him for wounds.
"I know," she crooned. "It's so sad. The evil fork won this round, but don't worry, you'll get it next time."

After taking her leave from Krays and Vai, Ephebe headed for the Headmaster's office and knocked on the door.
"Actually that would be a big help," she said with a smile as Vasya uncurled from her pillow and started running around Ryuzo's feet excitedly. "As you can see, she's a little tired of being cooped up.""Is that excitement?" says laughing. "C'mon up you go" he says to the fox, offering an arm for her to run up.
"Ok, we'll be back in time for the show. Have good...err studies...?"
She smiled as she waved to them both and then picked up a book, determined to get through these. She was determined to do the best job she could at helping that kid, even if it meant studying most of the weekend.
*meep meepmeep me-meep meep MEEP* Saffire said emphatically.
"It's your own fault for trying to pounce in a place that has air like water." Michael tells the little drake. "Next time pounce toward a wall and you slide of the table."
The mermaid swims back with their order and smiles as she places a small box next to Saffire.
"Can't get anymore raw than live shrimp and sardines, can it? I thought he might like being able to chase them around, so I just brought on of the smaller boxes. It's on the house."
Saffire practically danced with glee as he got to catch his own fishies.
Kitty laughed at his cavorting and smiled and the waitress.
"Thank you so much. That was really thoughtful of you."
Vai bids farewell to her friends, a little embarrassed about what they were talking about just before they parted. She thought about sticking around in the cafeteria, but then one of the students starting running around with his pants on fire, so Vai decided to retreat back to her room. She opens to door to the chaos of the room and Keme and Nasima trying to get it cleaned up.
"Um... what happened in here?"
Keme rolled his eyes. "About what you'd expect to happen in a room with one of those demon thingies in it. Apparently the thing got a hold of some coffee and it was a repeat of last week in the cafeteria. And then Miss Spaz-a-lot started screaming."
"So what you're saying is you don't think for yourself? You let this... Ssrena do all of... oh for heaven's sake!" Tyrrin saw the young man running through the cafeteria with his pants on fire, panicking everyone. Ridiculous. Without getting up, Tyrrin non-chalantly casts a spell to freeze the student in place , and then follows up by summoning several gallons of water above his head to douse the fire.
Tyrrin releases the hold on the boy and returns to her conversation as if nothing had happened. "As I was saying, if you let this Ssrena do all of your thinking for you, and she makes a bad choice, are you willing to live with the consequences? What if she does something to get the whole pack expelled?"
"Well, it's no wonder. What a disaster... I swear I was in here not half an hour ago and it wasn't like..." Vai trails off as her eyes go to her shopping. She quickly moves over to make sure her harp, fencing equipment, and clothing haven't been touched by the aschen. Luckily, they have not... what's this?

In it's place was a diamond of surpassing beauty, which seemed to sparkle and shine no matter which way she turned it. At the very heart of the diamond was a small speck of blue colour. It was much more beautiful than the sapphire which had originally been set. Vai snaps out of her awe, and looks at Keme, embarrassed.
Kitty laughed at his cavorting and smiled and the waitress.
"Thank you so much. That was really thoughtful of you."
"If he's busy chasing shrimp and fish, he won't be eying my tail, will he?" She replies with a wink. She starts to swim off. "Call if you need anything!"

"Bring him over here, I will heal him." Tyrrin calls across the room to Ursula.
Still acting non-chalant, as if nothing happening was special, Tyrrin replies to Jaiye. She was trying to find a way to talk to this lycan in a way that would make sense to her. "That's a pretty narrow view of the world. Yes, if left to themselves, the strong will survive and the weak will die, but that isn't how intelligent people should view the world. The strong should see the weak as an opportunity, not as a burden or something to be cast aside. Just because they are weak doesn't mean they are useless, and if you help them survive, they will help you to thrive."
Tyrrin examines Bradley's wounds and casts a healing spell appropriate for the damage. Tyrrin looks pointedly at the lycan as she casts her spell, hoping to demonstrate exactly what she had been talking about.
