The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple,
especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it
all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn. The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign
of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a
corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human
sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the
room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a
familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table.

Morthak cautiously walks in, and wrinkles his nose at the smell of the room. He looks around until his eyes settle on the elf on the table.
He takes a couple of steps forwards.
"What are you doing up there?" he says to the elf.

"Ugh, what were you thinking, you shoulda just stayed in that gang Eddie, it's all you know? You're no hero just in it for the money, they won't want a deadbeat like you..."Eddie is talking to himself, as he approaches the destination he gets a little grin on his face. "Now this is my kind of place" He walks in the door, looks at his letter, looks at the room, then back at the letter. Crinkles it up and throws it on the floor. Eddie is a handsome, brawny human, with little hooked blades strapped to each of his legs. A trained eye would notice that he's wearing brass knuckles, and that the studs on his armor are pointier than usual.
Chorlo Fasthands_
|
Chorlo strolls down the streets with his lantern in had, lit as always making sure that if someone needs help they know where to go. As he approaches the Pig's Paunch he slows his steps, looking in every window and alley way to make sure he isn't going to be jumped.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Once he is sure things are ok, Chorlo walks into the bar, looking around before settling down and ordering an ale.
Tirf
|
Walking in the Pig Paunch is a 3ft tall creature, he is completely covered by a dark blue robe and you can barely make out a little bit of green skin. Pulling the hood off his head. "Greetings fellow pathfinders, my name is Tirf and I will be your friendly wizard."
He looks around the room and thinks to himself This place is filthy. Why wont the society brief us some place with a little more class.
Karlos Therinor
|
A tall well muscled man of Taldan descent comes through the door of the tavern.
A large mug of coffee or tea please...something hot that can keep me awake, please. And a bowl of stew please. he orders from the innkeeper. He turns to the others gathered.
I am Karlos, of the Therinors of Cassomir. I just managed to make it here...the caravan I was with got stuck in a rainy valley...mud up to the axles. So, I assume you are all here for the initiation?

We are in Absolam right?
"I am Chorlo Fastfingers, I am native to here. Lamplighter by trade and profession, here to find out what is going on."

"“Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With
that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls,
nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before
looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can
you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder
Society was born.
“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master
Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your
worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time
to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow
me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions
for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large
backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll
cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here
will be going with you on
your Confirmation. She was
one of my brightest pupils
and will no doubt be an
invaluable resource on your
journey, for she discovered the
caves you are about to explore
during her own Confirmation.”

As the others begin making introductions to one another, Morthak looks around, and nods at the others.
"Morthak."
When the others start telling stories of how they came to be here, Morthak waits for the others to finish, then says, "Came by boat." He shakes his head. "Don't like boats."
Though most halflings look a little chubby, Morthak appears quite lean. His skin is tanned and covered with Shoanti tattoos, including a Pharasmin spiral on his cheek. His hair is woven into dreadlocks; at first it looks grey but you realize that ashes have been rubbed into it.
His clothing and gear looks rather primitive; his leathers are stitched with a thick black rough-looking stitching, hardly fashionable but sturdily made. They are covered with a variety of small animal bones dangling from little strings. Over top of those is a bandolier full of daggers.

“She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your
journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.”
"Caves. Hmph." Morthak shrugs. He looks over at Chorlo. "As long as we have light."
Just realized I didn't buy any light sources.
Faustus Numerius
|
Faustus arrives at the Pig's Paunch a bit late. He appears to be spending an unusual amount of time greeting people as they walk by. He has an infectious smile and clearly seems to be enjoying his surroundings.
He makes it to the table where the rest of the party waits. "Greetings! Mh name is Faustus. Sorry I'm late, but it's such a wonderful day outside. This town is so full of life!" Faustus wears some formidable metallic armor, but the weapons at his belt appear to show no sign of wear.
I'm sure we can pick up some last minute mundane items before we leave town. And I can cast Light.
Chorlo Fasthands_

"You shall have plenty of light my friend, I have my lamp at all times. Help me with getting to the truth and bring light to any situation."
Chorlo waits for a few moments.
"I know my jokes are not the greatest. I will make sure that you have the appropriate light that you need."
Chorlo turns to Master Shaine, "It is good to meet you Master Shaine, thank you for feeling that we have excelled and having confidence in us."
Eddie Brock

Eddie stands off to the side and listening and taking in the group and listening to their questions. Thank you for the opportunity I won't disappoint. When can we get started? Out the corner of his eye he notices a small green blob. Umm...you're a frog...

Janira speaks up in an
enthusiastic and cheerful
voice, “Greetings,
aspiring Pathfinders! Six
months ago, while I was
mapping cave entrances
in the foothills of the Kortos
Mounts, I witnessed a lone
gillman entering a concealed cave.
I thought little of it at the time, but I saw
another one enter the cave again a month
later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few
days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the
cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.”
Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation,
you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many
passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn
what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come
back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of
Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while
humming to himself.

"An interesting assignment, are we leaving right away or on the morrow?"
Chorlo will make sure his lamp has oil in it.
"If the Morrow I will also need to get a few things more."
Morthak Bonerattle PFS

Morthak hefts his sack over his shoulder.
"Well, Janira? When do we leave?"
Eddie Brock
|
Frogs, gill people, what have I gotten myself in to? Well I'm not the writing type, but let's be on our way then, hopefully there is some treasure at least...
Tirf
|
Looking up at Eddie, "Well I am not a toad." He says offended.
After listening to what Janira had to say, Tirf begins to ask his questions."What can we expect to find, creature wise, in the cave, and what do we know about gillman. Is a single gillman going into the cave a normal thing or a suspicous thing."

The Halfling insists that you leave sooner rather than later but is willing to wait if anyone needs to buy anything that they might need.

GM: did Janira just repeat everything that Master Shaine just said? This post seems almost identical to this one.

The bard responds to the gippli I am really not sure. I think that is what we need to make sure and investigate. Is everyone ready? she inquires.
| Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |
The halfling responds that she can wait for anyone that needs to get anything but she does ask that people hurry.
Just let me know what you guys need to buy, if anything.

Eddie stands by Janira, twiddling his thumbs waiting to depart. Are we ready or what? We are wasting time!
| Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |
Seeing that people are ready, the Halfling says Let's go, we have lots of miles to go before we get to where we need to get to . she says with a smile.
I should be able to update the maps tomorrow, still feeling the food poisioning a bit. yuck

Morthak nods, hefting his sack over his shoulder. "Alright then." He heads for the door.
GM: FYI Morthak has a bit of a carrying capacity issue. So he keeps camping stuff like his bedroll and mess kit in a sack. The sack gets dropped as a free action whenever there is trouble (or Morthak suspects trouble) to keep him at a light load.

Morthak waits out in the street for everyone to get going.
While others talk inside, he pulls out a few chicken bones from his pouch and casts them on the ground. He squats, examines the bones for a few moments, then shrugs and scoops them up again, putting them away.

Chorlo will come outside, checking the closest street light to make sure it is still in good order then going to stand beside Morthak.
"First mission for the Lodge?"

Catching up on posts and dealing with another flare up or something of that damned stomach problem. If I don't get to updating today for sure tomorrow.

Well we sure have an interesting bunch here, Chorlo right? What's the deal with you and lamps? Scared of the dark or something? Eddie does his best to make small talk, but is getting anxious to get started, and begins cracking his neck and knuckles.
