Riuk:
Towards the end of the night, Riuk is minding his own business as he stands watch when all of the sudden a short sword whizzes by his right side. Turning around, he sees a creature whose outline is barely discernible against the rocks that make up the cave wall. What do you do?

Riuk yells to wake up the party, and everyone except for Trask comes awake.

Mattock, Riuk, Trask, and Morg are up. Riuk has already posted an action, and Trask's action for this round will be to wake up. Morg, I'm assuming you wanted to use that hanging tent you bought; you'll need to make a DC 10 Climb check as a full-round action if you want to climb out.

I'm about to update the initiative spoiler and post a link to a Roll20 map. When yo log in to the Roll20 campaign, let me know which character you are, so I can give you control of your tokens.

Mattock scrambles from his tent, stands and looks around for the enemy.

"Where away, Riuk?!"

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

It's hard for Mattock to pick up the chameleon-like skin of the intruder, but he can clearly see the short sword pointed at Riuk from the north, poised to strike again.

The apparently floating sword bewilders Mattock for a moment, but the threat it represents doesn't.

"Riuk, just to your left!"

Or some game appropriate direction. It's not clear who's who on the map.

Mattock points out the direction of the threat to Riuk, and Riuk steps back, unleashing an arrow at the figure. It appears to be on target, but it glances off. Trask wakes up, but it takes a moment for him to get his bearings. Morg untangles himself from his tent and moves towards the action.

The creature closes with Riuk again, and he lashes out with his short sword. Once again, it misses.

Ulfgar:
You hear a voice chanting. Turning your head in the direction of the sound (NW), you can barely make out the outline of another creature like the one attacking Riuk. He is holding a short sword in one hand and waving around a gold object in the other.

Ulfgar and Falgard are up. Ulfgar, you're in the same situation Morg was (needing to make a Climb check as a full-round action to get down). If you look at the map, your tent is hanging on the cliff face that makes up the east wall of the cavern. Getting down will put you in the first square of sand west of you, and you may take a 5' step after that, if you wish.

Human [Ulfen]* Bloodrager/Bard 1

I'm not high enough to take damage, so I'll just drop out of the tent and risk the DC 15 acrobatics check to avoid landing prone...
acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 lol, of course

Ulfgar flips out the entrance to his tent but misjudges the height, over-rotates, misses his footing, and ends up prone on the ground. With a grunt and a scowl he stands and prepares himself for combat. second move action to stand from prone- if there's any that threaten me they get an AoO...

Ulfgar, from your post I gether that you might have missed the spoiler that I posted for you. Falgard has moved himself on the map, so we're ready for the beginning of Round 2. Mattock, Riuk, Trask, and Morg are up.

Human [Ulfen]* Bloodrager/Bard 1

i saw the spoiler... I'm not sure i completely understood it... Is the outline I saw close enough to attack me? Or were you surprised I didnt tell something about it?"

No, he isn't, and I thought I'd said as much, which was why I was confused when you mentioned something might get an AoO on you. Looking back at it, though, I see I didn't, so never mind. My bad :).

HP- 18/18 ; AC 16, touch15, flat-footed 13 // F 4 R 4 W 6 // Today's Resistance Fire 5 // Sense Motive 6, Perception 6

Mattock considers his options and charges forward to help Riuk. Rounding behind his comrade he swings his heavy axe where an assailant should be.

MW BattleAxe: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 .... damage : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Dwarf Monk 1/Rogue 1 | 20/20 | AC 19/15/17 | F 4/R 7/W 5 | Init +3 | Perc +8

Or, you could 5-foot step and take that reddish guy, setting up a flank! You're a dwarf, you don't have enough move to go around anyone...

Morg steps to flank the enemy with Mattock!

flurry1, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 2 = 15
dmg1: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (5) = 8

flurry2, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18
dmg2: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (1) = 3

Morg, would you be willing to risk an AoO to get flanking? As it stands, you have enough movement to get into flanking with Riuk without provoking, but if Riuk moves at all (which is likely, since he'll eat an AoO if he fires his bow in melee), you'll lose flanking. On another note, I don't think you can flurry; you're moving more than 5 ft.

Trask Morgrath here is a nice dwarven epic song for you lol:

I like big beards and I can not lie
You other dwarves can't deny
When a girl walks in with a big thick waist
And hair all over her face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up tough
Cuz you notice that face was scruffed
Deep in the helm she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh, baby I wanna get with ya
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But that beard you got
Make Me so horny
Ooh, ain't got smooth skin
You say you wanna get in my clan
Well use me use me cuz you aint that average groupie
I've seen them smithin'
The heck with romancin'
She sweats, wet, gots whiskers like my uncle Chet

I'm tired of elven queens
With their smooth little things
Take the average dwarf and ask him that
Her face has gotta scratch, so
fellas (yeah) fellas (yeah)
Has your dwarf-girl got the beard? (heck yeah!)
Don't let her shave it, shave it
Keep that healthy beard...

Baby got beard...

Hairy face makes for dwarven beauty...

or this one lol:

For the clan
We will fight to the last man
For our homes
We all fight, even the gnomes

(Chorus)
Raise your hammer
Sharpen your axe
Prepare for the glamour
And the bloodiest of acts
For life and limb
A battle dark and grim
(/Chorus)

We go to war
We’ll be covered in gore
For we swore
We’ll fight and die
With a mighty battle cry

(Chorus)

Though the dead my rise
And the dragon flies
We look to our allies
And to no surprise
We’ve seen their demise
So we grasp at the warrior’s prize
(chorus)

The din of battle loud
Our warriors stand proud
To carry the day
To see our enemies dismay
As we keep them at bay

(chorus)

And if we shall die
You should know why
We gave our life
To end the strife

Mattock moves towards the battle, and his axe connects with the creature's shoulder. Riuk steps back and looses an arrow, but it's hard to target something that blends into the background, and he misses. Trask grabs his drumsticks and begins inspiring his comrades. Morg tries to hit the creature, but he too misses. The creature follows after Riuk, and stabs with his short sword. The attack clangs harmlessly against Riuk's armor. Then, all of a sudden, a bolt of flame hits Morg squarely in the back. Attempting to find its source, you all notice another chameleon-like figure clutching a gold object in one hand and a short sword in the other.

Morg, you take 5 damage. Ulfgar and Falgard are up.

Trask raised a good point: I forgot to let y'all roll Knowledge checks. I'll also post the results of the actions Ulfgar and Falgard took at the end of last round.

Falgard's hammer slams into the ground beside the creature, and the creature Ulfgar's fighting manages to avoid both of his blows, though one of them seems like it should have connected.

Trask:
These creatures are skulks. If they were a standard raiding party, they would be an even fight for the party, but a normal raiding party doesn't have the capability to generate flame bolts like the one that hit Morg, so you're probably looking at a difficult fight. Skulks are sneaky, and they can do extra damage when you're not aware of them or in groups. They typically have difficulty seeing in complete darkness. In other words, they have sneak attack and low-light vision. If you move to support Ulfgar, who's fighting the one who shot at Morg, you can attack this round, if you follow the rest of the party, who are fighting the one that attacked Riuk, then you won't get an attack in this round. If you haven't posted by the time Riuk and Morg do, I'll assume you're headed north. From now on, please roll your dice in the thread.

Morg:

Actually, now you can't flank without eating AoOs (or making the Acrobatics checks to avoid them). Riuk put his badger in the space you needed.

No. Small creatures still take up a 5' square; that's partially why I asked you what size it was). If it were Tiny, then they could share a square.

Edit: Correction, 2 Tiny creatures can share a space, but a Tiny creature and a Medium creature can't.

Nice try, but no :).

Morg attempts to launch himself over the creature so that he can flank with the badger, but he winds up tripping and landing next to the badger. The creature tries to take advantage of the misstep, but he misses. Momentarily off-balance, Morg's counter-strike barely misses as well.

Once he reaches the creature his drumstick cracks into the side of the creature's head. The creature steps back and the gold object in his hand belches a gout of flame. This time it's aimed at Ulfgar. It hits him, singeing the hair off his arm. Tiring of chasing Riuk, the other creature stabs at Mattock, but misses. The badger's bite and one of his claws tear into the creature. Apparently, the indignity of being munched on by a badger is too much for the creature, and it carefully makes its way into the river. The badger attempts to take advantage of the situation, but doesn't manage to do so.
Withdraw action, so the only AoO is for the creature moving from the east side of the river to the middle.

Meanwhile, Trask plays a drum riff on the skull of the creature he's fighting. Ulfgar misses, however. Seeing that his friend is bolting, the creature disengages from Ulfgar and Trask, fleeing northward.

Falgard is up.

Rolls:
Trask flurry 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 flurry 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 damage 1: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4damage 2: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7Ulfgar flurry 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Ulfgar flurry 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 damage 1: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage 2: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8xo bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 bite damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

EDIT: After raging song, Morg hit. Forgot to put that in.

Our ineptitude is exemplary, Brothers! Let us not speak of this to general or king.

riuk takes a step forward
"no you wont be getting away that easily"

he said as he let two arrows fly

flurry 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

flurry 1 damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

flurry 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

flurry 2 damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

"or maybe you will..."

Riuk said as he lowered his bow

"what is wrong with us we could not hit them at all..."
