Myhm slashes left and right, but fails to connect with his attacks.
The bat bites into the other wisp, and with Troxell's help, Xerexis connects with one clear strike as well.
Watching Teena and Troxell jump into the fray and try to distract the Wisps, Myhm does the same.

Troxell Lanathar |

My bad, I only scanned my equipment list for something offensive, I didn't even remember we had the wand.
Troxell scrutinizes his fellow companions' injuries, and pulls out his healing wand, "Let me know when to stop."

DM Rah |

In my experience, most of the time players look for offense rather then considering defense, and it's usually the best tactic, but in some situations a single first or second level spell can prevent more damage then a healing spell of the same level can restore. A good example is resist energy. Another is mage armor (if used on monks or other non-armor using characters, it can really make a difference).

Myhm |

Doh! With AC 13, Mhym got fried with every zap 15+10+11+14+7=57; un-raging, he’s down by 39.
Good team work indeed! Those assists by Teena and Mikmik really helped, guessing the wisps had a huge AC?

Troxell Lanathar |

It's divine, so Troxell has it.

DM Rah |

The players in the Kingmaker game fought a wisp near Candlemere and took it out so fast that I expected you guys would be challenged by two but able to handle it. But then, they have a ranger with aberrations as a favored enemy, an alchemist with a wand of magic missile (and a few lucky UMD rolls), a bard/cavalier with inspire courage, and a cleric with decent healing magic. Plus, I think they all made their saves vs the effect around the tower.
Anyway, what now?

Once everyone is healed, Troxell places his wand away and looks up. "I'll scout ahead as an air elemental. Hopefully there are no more of those infernal wisps. If you keep the rope out, I'll find a place to secure it somewhere on the next level."
Without further ado, he transforms into said elemental and flies up to the hole in the ceiling, looking around the area before fully entering.
Taking 20 on Perception.

DM Rah |

Flying up through the hole in the ceiling, Troxell finds himself in a chamber with every inch of the walls covered with reflective objects. Fancy mirrors, shiny crystals, shards of glass, sheets of polished metal, smooth stones, and coins.
Spaced around the ceiling near the walls are other openings allowing access to a third level above. A bright light floods down from the openings, illuminating the lower parts of the tower and causing the reflective surfaces to shine and sparkle.
Troxell, you notice more than a few previous stones, metals, and valuable mirrors on the walls.

Troxell Lanathar |

Troxell finds a place to tie Myhm's rope, allowing the others access to the next floor. While he waits for the others, he'll start gathering up some of the precious stones.

Troxell Lanathar |

Noting the window and plate, Troxell elects to wait for the others to climb up before doing any more examining.

Myhm |

Myhm offers Teena a shoulder to hang on to, then climbs the rope to the second level.

Huffing and puffing from climbing the rope, Teena rests for a second as she looks around. "That copper plate looks strangely out of place here. Can someone check that and the window for traps? If there are any, kindly point them out to me and I'll take a gander at it."

Troxell Lanathar |

Troxell returns to gathering up valuables, since dealing with the window and plate are jobs better devoted to someone else.

Myhm |

Myhm saunters over the window and peers out, opening it if possible to get breath of air. Thereafter, he'll turn back to the room, rummaging about.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

DM Rah |

While Troxell loots the room for valuables, Myhm and Teena give the window further examination. Myhm finds that the window is not designed to be opened, and even if it could be it is too small for anything bigger than a foot wide to fit through.
Troxell recovers a few thousand gold worth of precious gems and metals, as well as a very well made mirror.
2230gp in gems and metals and a masterwork mirror chased with silver and gold worth another 1000gp. The mirror is large enough to make transporting it tricky without some means of protecting it.

Teena Akaash |

"Finally, a bit of luck! Electricity will cause this plate to do something. Trouble is, I'm not sure if it is good or bad. I'm keen to give it a try, if the rest of you deem it proper. If it is bad, you all might want to head back down a bit before, just to be on the safe side."

Troxell Lanathar |

Troxell looks up at the 3rd level, but makes a shrugging gesture.

Troxell Lanathar |

Troxell nods, then flies up to poke his head in on the third level and looks around.
Take 20 on Perception, unless we have company up there.

DM Rah |

Troxell flies up to the third, and apparently top, level of the tower. There he finds a tall chamber with long narrow windows up near the roof. The light in the chamber comes not from the windows though, but rather from a giant candelabra suspended above. Two dozen glass bowls dangle from the candelabra's metal arms, many of which contain a brilliant light. Looking closer, Troxell realizes that every light within a bowl is actually a will-o'-wisp.
Directly below the candelabra, chained upon a circular table and bathed in the light of the wisps, lays a male humanoid. Too pale, thin, and angular to be human, it at first appears dead, but then stirs a little and let's out a whimper.
Knowledge Nature is possible here, but the DC is very high so I'll hold off on a spoiler.

Troxell Lanathar |

Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Troxell flies back down and returns to humanoid form in order to speak, "There's a giant candelabra that uses wisps as it's light source, In fact all the light in this tower comes from the wisps. There's also a male humanoid chained to a table up there, but it isn't human. I do not know what it is, yet. I vote we find out what's going on that top level, but use the wand first to protect ourselves from electricity, at least those of us who need it. Although if the group would rather Teena try the plate first, I'm not going to object."
