"Sounds as if we are going to need more muscle. James, do try not to run off this time. The episode at the bridge was most inconvenient."
Planning a full round casting of Enlarge Person on James, unless you don't want it.
"And maybe one of you should finish off that mongrel beast before it wakes up."

Albert turns back towards the door and sighs heavily, preparing himself for the battle rapier in hand and spell on his lips.
I can cast grease right in front of the doors to trip them up so we can pepper them if yall like.. otherwise I will ready hideous laughter.. or I can hold until big bad. What do yall want?.

James scowls at Fethril "We'll talk about your manners later but if you make me large I can slice them easier as they come through. I was expecting someone to be in here though. Hmmmmmm.." James stands next to Kelris scythe at the ready.

It's a 1 round cast, so it takes until the beginning of your next round to finish. You should be fine for casting Bless on your next action regardless, unless you took a move action before you started casting.
GM Fez
As soon as you decided to make a stand I had Fethril cast it on James, so this round would be a casting of Bless
Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 Aura, I rolled this for you since the first roll didn't get through the text formulas
Aura's dagger flies true, drawing a roar from the Gnoll as it charges James. Because of its reckless rush James is quickly able to reposition his blade having the creature almost run onto it. It swings its battleaxe overhead, trying to cleave the large man in two.
Ragh!: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
The other two gnolls focus on Kelris, attempting to bring down the other human. The first fires its longbow as the second advances, bringing its enormous two handed club in line.
Twang!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Bash!: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 1 = 18
Damage: 1d10 + 1d8 + 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + (1) + (5, 2) + 6 + 3 = 18 [Great club die]+[Longbow die]+[Sneak Attack dice]+Str+PA.
Both manage to catch the man before he can get his guard fully up, arrow and club hitting in particularly tender areas.

Who is Albert Pennywise? And who was that directed towards?
Sabert shrugs as the rest charge into battle and the music starts to play! He lifts his voice up in accompaniment, starting a song that will aid his companions.
Kelris Bartel

Albert Pennywise is Batman's butler and Kelris isn't feeling so hot haha
Kelris grunts as the two blows land on him.
Did the melee Gnoll charge in? I was set for a charge
Kelris Swings his halberd at the Gnoll then steps back 5'

Thats what confused me! I knew Pennywise is the clown from IT, but I never new Albert's last name. Putting them together like that had me scratching my head lol! As for Kelris not feeling well, hold on just a bit and I will get you patched up.

"Vile things, we shall free those you have taken as slaves!" Kelris Shouts so those still hiding can hear him.
I get the flank as well do I not? If so +2
GM Fez
Aura's dagger pushes the gnoll forward in its attempts to keep its kidneys intact, straight into Kel's halberd, leaving a nasty gash in its flank along the way.
The gnoll with the greataxe, frothing at the mouth, swings again at James before lunging forward in an attempt to take a bite out of the large man.
Slash!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Snap!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
James' armor gets in the way of the axe and the man himself is able to step back out of the range of the gnolls teeth.
The gnoll next to Kelris and Aura realizes the predicament it is in and attacks the elf woman in an attempt to escape where its movement brought it.
Bash!: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 1 = 13
Aura is far too quick to be caught like that, not even feeling the air of the passing tree limb sized club. The last gnoll fires another arrow at Kelris, trying to take advantage of the hectic melee.
Twang!: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 4 = 16
It skitters off the ground and shoots into the room behind you.

Both Sabert and James take out their targets, Sabert with a precise stab through the gnoll's throat, James with a mighty overhand chop that leaves the raging gnoll in two pieces on the floor.
The last gnoll begins laughing, nervously if you can judge it well. It doesn't drop its bow, but it turns tail and begins running for the exit. You hear the rattling of the portcullis as it attempts to lift it once more.
Strength!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
It has difficulty as the sound of straining can be heard from the original room.

Kelris and Aura deal with the gnoll as it struggles with the portcullis, letting the rest of the team observe the chamber more fully. As you observe the many pieces of finery in this room you notice someone else has joined you, a rather large blue skinned man whose lower half appears to be a vortex of wind. His hair is back in a pony tail and his beard is neatly trimmed.
He gives a courtly bow from the waist before appraising you with his bright yellow eyes. "Greetings new slaves! I am Jairo the Enlightener, your tutor in the courtly arts to be of service to the mistress who holds my ring."
GM Fez
"In a manner of speaking," he says, floating to another portion of the room. He returns bearing a tray with fruit and water. "Would you like refreshments?" He continues to hold it out as he explains, "My mistress wears a ring that commands me, and those commands have not been rescinded despite her fleeing this location. The gnolls chased her out perhaps as little as a week ago. I will let you know that those instructions were to stop any slaves from reaching her rooms unless they knew the password."
James Rob-in-son
|
James walks over to the creature and says "I am James. I came here as the trader's muscle. Do you know your mistress' name? Which door leads to your lady's chamber? I want to make sure there is nothing in the other areas. Do you know why the gnolls chased your lady out?"
GM Fez
Jairo gently sets down the tray, trying to answer each of your questions in series, "Then allow me to revise my previous statement. My mistress wanted no one but the gnolls access to her rooms. You see none of the buyers or sellers of her wares have ever been allowed in this room.
"I was never forbidden from giving hints, though that certainly depends on how I feel about the individual asking. If you can get the password within two tries you are free to pass.
"You have my apologies again for addressing you as such. I will try to refrain as much as I can from calling you that further.
"My lady is Pasha Muhlia al’Jakri. Any attempt to move through the door at the top of the stairs will be met with regrettable violence should the password not be used. As for why my mistress is gone now, who can say? I have been confined to this room teaching gentile arts to those heading out to the world, and don't know what is going on except when my mistress calls for me."
He flies to another portion of the kitchen, pulling out a bottle of wine and getting some food from a cold storage container. "Now, I was not expecting your arrival, so I did not have time to cook a proper meal, but if you would be willing to wait I am more than happy to prepare something for you. Especially if you want to observe these chambers or others and find information my mistress would associate with."
Kelris Bartel

"A meal would be nice, Aura I will go with you out to find things out if you will have my loud clankyness coming with you." Kelris says "I think our overly smart friend Fethril can figure out the passcode."
GM Fez
Jairo bows and says, "I will let you know when the food is ready."
Going back to the area where the hyenas were kept and sift through the papers and wood scraps that they animals destroyed.

Jairo uses his innate magical abilities to create food and fine wine, setting himself up in the kitchen and beginning to cook. He talks as he cooks and soon the smells of food begins to permeate the suite. "Like many mortals, she is consumed by a mad quest, her every spare thought given to plotting the downfall of a group called the Pathfinder Society. I honestly find her a bit of a bore, but I do wonder how the that group wronged her to provoke such wrath.
"My mistress has few friends these days, but I suspect that was not always the case. Her password sounds like a mortal’s name, someone she was fond of in the past, I would guess." He pauses briefly to look over you, "I am only telling you this because you are all so cordial. It is good to speak with others that are polite and don't snarl and drool everywhere."
*Aura*

"Seems like we have some options then. Master protector, does the name start with a D in the language that we are currently conversing in?" Aura asks of Jairo, hoping to read something in his body language one way or the other.
