Yo Yo

Hey gang!

So I think that's the whole gang. Feel free to start musing on character ideas. They're super simple to create, it's more about their story and powers.

Also, ScrappyG was just remarking how much setting material there is to take in. Don't stress, you don't need to read the whole thing, I'll explain what's what as we play. You can just look up bits that you think might be relevant to your PC. But the more you read, the more ideas you'll get for your character.

And hey, it's a fun read!

Okay folks, so at this point, I've had a few ideas roll in from people:

- Scrappy's thinking a Firebrand, back from the war down south with the gnolls.

- Duda's thinking an Azurite/merchant with no legs that gets carted around by a bodyguard (haha love it).

- Dave is thinking a pimp. I think every party needs a pimp.

So the team/cell/party will have a Magister, a senior member of the Ministry that loosely directs it, and is the team's sole conduit to the Ministry. I'll let you know about your Magister when I've developed them.

Go nuts with your ideas folks. Weird = cool in this game.

So I'm getting lots of good ideas about your characters via text and email - time to make this the place for discussion. Talk or ask questions about your characters here. Don't be shy!

So I’m thinking of a midwife who works to protect the children of the slums from aelfir influence. She’s somewhat ambivalent about drow exploiting children (part of the culture) but is infuriated at what she perceives as the corruption of the youth by high elves.

Misanthropic towards other adults but infinitely patient with children. Often has a handful of urchins trailing after her.

Sweet as. So is she from the slums too, or was she born into the middle class and decided to dedicate her life to the poor?

Was there something that tipped her over the edge and inspired her to seek out the Ministry, or just constant exposure to the injustice caused by the aelfir?

LaRok is an ex enlisted firebrand from the war against the gnolls in the south. He stayed on after his durance for coin but came across some conflicting "information" about gnolls and them having a greater part of the spires creation, there's something important about nujab. All heresay obviously but somewhat converted about the war against them. Left there and has been recruiting and running small renegade reconnaissance and assaults for the sept of crimson vigil. This has now ceased as the ministry doesn’t approve of their ruthless actions and carefree attitude for casualties of war.

Nice. Firebrands look pretty fun.

Okay guys, time to pick a class and nail down characters. First step after picking a class is to choose your durance. Second step is to choose your two low advances. If there is an equipment choice to make, do that too, and you'll find your character's mechanics are pretty much taken care of.

Then comes backstory :)

So once you've made those mechanical choices, present your character in an alias: here's the Spire character I'm currently playing in another game. It's a pretty simple character sheet (the spoilers are all backstory, so ignore that).

Let's see if everyone can have that done by the end of the week. Fair?

Okay, so no one's responded to my last post, posted anything in over a week, or contacted me another way to discuss this, so guessing no one's that keen. That's cool, we'll try again some other time - you guys let me know if you want me to run something for you.
