I consider Darne to be a pretty good Face but I need to up Awareness and Cunning for the next little while to get him settled. Though, I'm letting him evolve through RP more then anything so who knows how he will turn out.
I wasn't expecting to make lord (was expecting the sister too but she died out early.) The mother almost taking it was a surprise as well.
Awareness does a good job, if you are a "Face" bump it to at least 4 and then at leas 1B in specializations so you rolls 5 dice and keep 4. Only really specialized schemers will be any danger.
A 4 in an ability with 2B in something is more than enough to deal with many, Awareness you need at least 1B in both Notice and Empathy.
Darne, you gain the Benefit of Head of House. so you can add it to your other benefits.
There is nothing stopping Darne from seducing Wynnter, the only one with the Attractive benefit is Ser Ereth lol, so Wynnter might be hard pressed to steal him from Ophelia Sand and create an interesting situation within the House lol.
True True, my original build had Attractive in it but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the DP on it.
That is true, if you were looking to legitimize Wynnter, you could seduce and steal Ser Ereth away. Ophelia is a Noble dispossessed and caught in her scheme by the House to legitimize herself and possibly save her family name. All the same it would be a battle of the bastards.

And Wynnter is a northern woman who uses a bow and daggers. But she isn't petite, I see Wynnter as being about 5'6" and- well there is a picture for her above my avatar! XD I don't need to explain.

This system doesn't favor defense a lot as it's a static thing.
That is a little on the aggravating side but hmm. Still I need a weapon for Darne to use once he's on the ground. The spear is good for hunting but not much further. But maybe he should pick up the Ax in memory of his father instead.
Also, Darne I've decided believes in the word of a man. If you give your word you must follow through no matter what. Partial influence from Matthias but most likely influenced from his Father and his Grandfather (Mother's side). Hence why he is willing to give up his prized steed for Ser Ereth.
That is to say though, you'll have to get him to promise in order to have him count it as his word.

Manrel is just your typical manly knight, that has a potty mouth, but his skill in fighting was second to lord Domeric and loyal retainer.
You do have a Valyrian weapon passed down by lord Domeric. It's an axe tough, but hey it beats superior weapons and it kicks ass.
Which is why she will never cross blades with him, doesn't mean she has to like him! XD
