Ok,so this thread, obviously, is for discussion.
I just need to compile the backgrounds of all your characters for my record keeping sanity, then list out your hooks and make an NPC web. As soon as that is done, we can get started. I have a few things going on IRL today, so it's likely that we'll start tomorrow, but that just depends on how much i get done of my other stuff.
If you would, as a sort of "sound off", please dot this thread so I know that everyone is still in, and we'll continue from there.
Thank you all, and I look forward to some fun storytelling and gaming!

Havak!!
Please tell me that will be a normal thing for your character, haha.
We're going to have a 6th, unless anyone has an objection...which is entirely up to you guys. He's my good friend IRL. He's cracking out his char as we speak. Should be interesting. He wants to play an ex-familiar bard.
Sounds good! Between a Bard, a Chirurgeon, a Witch and a Paladin we should be able to keep our HP up through some bad times. A cure wounds wand would be a fun community item. O and we have a Ranger! So that wand would be usable by 5/6 of our party. Pretty nice.
As our families are kind of in competion fishing wise perhaps Garrett and Amara's brothers could have a bit of friendly rivalry. As Amara has almost no interest in fishing and is a bit of a lone wolf their interactions would be somewhat limited. Unless you can think of a way to make them interact more...
That works for me. So long as they aren't hassling me or my little bro we should be okay.
My fluff is done, I just need to settle on a feat and go shopping. Should be good to go if all we're doing is role playing.

shrodingerscat |

Garrett, I noticed when looking at your character that you haven't selected your feat. also, you have too much gold. should have half normal starting.
also, i'm pluggin everyone into herolab for my records...i'm having trouble finding the "observant" trait.

Dante Allende |

Oh wow. With a crow bard on board, it'd be fun if one of us apped a tengu and got in. They could speak in caws 24/7 and annoy the heck out of everyone. XD
OH! half NORMAL starting. My bad. I've got too much too. I thought by half, you meant average starting.

nope. small town. poorer than average peeps, more subsistence based. :)

Also Shro. I noticed something detrimental mechanics-wise with the scarred witch. It seems I forgot to consider that the first-level hex is replaced. This is something I didn't see in my first run through of the archetype. Although the con-based casting is an amazing thing, I think I'd rather hex (as it is the role of a witch to do so). Would it be ok for me to do a quick switch from Scarred to Vanilla, keeping the fluff of the backstory? Sorry for this last minute major character revision appeal.

well, you only lose the 1st level hex...but in e6 that could mean alot. I don't mind you just dropping scarsheild, as it's the only thing that is keeping you from getting that hex.
also...could you throw up your background on your profile please?

Rook the crow |

Hi, all. I'll be playing the part of the crow :) Thanks for letting me join. Should be a lot of fun.
If he kept a journal, (crows generally keep an oral tradition, such as it is) it would begin with the day he came upon the strange woman wandering in the forest alone, singing to herself and picking an odd assortment of toad's legs, moth's wings, and the odd mushroom or two.
He kept to the trees and followed her until she came to a wooden cave and trapped herself inside, where she apparently liked to burn things. This went on for weeks, (months maybe, the passage of time was a bit fuzzy then) until the day she took notice.
She was going about her usually routine of gathering when he spotted a large cougar lying in wait in the bushes near her. She was oblivious and he saw the wiggling cat ready to pounce, so he dived in to get her attention. During the cat's distraction he heard the most beautiful song come from the woman's mouth as her hands danced in the air. When he spun around, the cat lay sleeping in the grass and she stared up at Rook with a twinkle in her eye.
With her inviting gaze, he followed her into her wooden cave and learned a great many things there. He also met a most curious girl, Corvina who named him: Rook. When the old woman died, Rook stayed with Corvina and followed her into town on occasion.
In Solace he was mostly ignored and learned by watching, but one man, Abram Verdance noticed there was something different about him and in secret they would talk about things: the ways of nature and the ways of man, including what not to steal. Rook always avoids talking politics when he can, but the Abram tends to go on sometimes about problems in the town and Rook listens patiently.

Lets see if I clear up this jam.
- I'm just going to take power attack. I mean, why not? Everybody's doin' it.
- I also mistook half starting as half of the max starting gold so I'll tweek that while I'm in there. 175*.5 = 87.5 gp
- I found the "Observant" trait on the Trait Database when I did a search for Perception on the pdf download. If you want I can switch it with something else. It's no biggie.
And while I'm responding in in mass, I read your email an hour ago but had to rescue the baby sitter soooo...

sounds good. now just detail your equipment and you're all set.
and all joking aside...if around "level 10" time, that's still something you wanna do...we miiiight be able to work out some wingy stuff.

Yeah I think that would actually be pretty neat depending on how things progress. It would help my profile pic make more sense. I've been prodding around the internet to get a better feel for E6 and some people are doing gestalt or boosting ability score increases and the like to beef up characters. Just wondering, are you planning to stay true to form up to 6th level and then add a bonus feat for every 5000 XP we earn or are you doing things differently?

probably going as written, but we'll have a better feel for it as we go i think, so its not set in stone.

Ok cool. I just figured I'd ask now so I can get a ballpark of what Garrett will look like over the next few levels.
I'm chipping away at the equipment. Everything after what I have so far will just be minor trinkets and food. I've got less than 10 gp to ration out so it won't be all that major.
BTW - Rook is a pretty awesome concept. Hats off to you, sir.

Elarya Whitescale |

By the way, just so there's no question, Elarya has been in town for about a year. She's been a recluse for most of the time, and anyone who has seen her, has seen her either solemnly working in the forge or returning from a hunt or fishing trip.
EDIT: I look forward to Elarya and Rook meeting. Should be fun.

Rook the crow |

Sounds cool. Nothing like having an eye in the sky. Would Rook and Amara know each other at all. She is a ranger and likes the birdies and beasties, she might notice he is a bit different than a normal crow. Also speaks Sylvan.
Sure. He's happy when you bring him the odd fish or two. It's become a favorite of his, but can hardly catch any himself with all the mobbing seagulls pushing him out.

Thanks. I had an idea for a wolf druid awhile back for a game that never happened. So we kind of adapted it to fit the party. I actually like this idea better. Should be fun trying to figure out the vocal and somatic components to spells :)

Rook the crow |

Reminds me of a Tengu rogue I had once. I based it off of real crows. He was a kleptomaniac, enjoyed rotten meat, and liked repeating what people say.
Nice. I didn't know about Tengu. Were they from Oriental Adventures? I see Pathfinder has an updated Bestiary entry. Cool pic of Dante! A party group shot would be cool, too.
