Arsith was looking at the scandalous statue, seemigly lost in the moment. Then the white haired warrioress let some words of lustful poetry flow out of her mouth, surprising everyone around

Then violence erupts. Again.

Seeing the kind of foe they are facing, she touches her weapon, and it start to give a golden glow Holy Strike HS (minor): At 1st level, you can touch one weapon and bless it with the power of purity and goodness. For 1 minute, this weapon glows green, white, or yellow-gold and deals an additional 1d6 points of damage against evil creatures. During this time, it's treated as good for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Zee examines the pillar and what is depicted below it. "Yes, that is the Grand Mastaba. I have been at its base many times, and one cannot help but see it when in Korvosa. The site of Korvosa was once Sorshen's capital during the days of Thassilon."

She gestures at the figure of Sorshen below the Grand Mastaba and the blood pouring into its mouth. "And that must explain why this clone body of Sorshen was still active. And why the Shoanti had tried to warn the Chelish away from the Grand Mastaba when they invaded Varisia three hundred years ago. I wonder if Sorshen's influence had something to do with Queen Ileosa's tyrrany and delusions of grandeur."

And then Arsith recites her bawdy rhyme. Zee appears equally shocked and amused, one eyebrow arched wryly. She seems about to say something when three demons suddenly appear and attack!

Zee fixes the demon fighting Joanna with a baleful gaze and makes the Varisian sign of the evil eye.

Evil Eye hex. -2 to AC for 6 rounds; Will save DC 14 reduces that to 1 round.


Joanna and Halli, working in an elegant synchronicity, send the first of the demons stepping for a moment... the blows landed against it are hard-hitting yet the vile thing is far from diminished...

Each round at the start of the shaman’s turn, if the bonded creature is wounded for 5 or more hit points below its maximum hit points, it heals 5 hit points and the shaman takes 5 points of damage. Briana casts Magic Circle Against Evil!


Teldon's spear is expertly placed... stabbing through a viscous layer of slime and striking bone...

I don't think I'll ask for the miss check on the Aid Another...

Briana... cool spell choice - although if it is centred on Teldon are the Demons within it? Is it better to cast it slightly back from Teldon so as to exclude the babaus... note that as written in adventure, these demons aren't really summoned although they must have been at some stage... so I'm ruling that they would be prevented from entering the circle as per the spell - however, you will need to make a Caster Level check vs the Demon's Spell Resistance to successfully ward against them - although bonuses to AC and Saves still stand regardless of the check against SR.
Briana to confirm spell placement / roll a quick Caster Level check.

Waiting on an action from Shadlah but will push onwards when Briana responds.

Sure, I can center it on Briana instead, which should still get the entire party without tagging the babaus! By doing that I don't think I'll need the SR check but I'll go ahead and roll one to cover all bases.

I was suggesting re-positioning such that the babaus were external to the circle... and hence they would not be able to enter the circle / move forwards and the combat would have swung heavily towards the group... only Briana didn't get past the SR and hence the babaus can enter the circle - but everyone is still getting their AC bonuses - HUZZAH!!!

Shadlah delays

"Sometimes, it is better to trust the stone than one's eyes." Shadlah's voice is clear and deep in the darkness, and she spreads her feet, lowering her stance. A heel digs into the ground, then another, and through the darkness, she can feel the placement of the creatures, their clawed feet betraying them.

Focusing on the one dripping blood and slime from its wounds, as felt by the constant pattern of the droplets on the floor, she blasts it.

Shadlah will accept a point of burn (and the corresponding 6 nonlethal damage) to gain tremorsense for 1 round/level (6 rounds). She takes no miss chance from concealment against creatures she can detect with it. Throwing out a standard earth blast, PBS included, no deadly aim or infusions.

So, as much as it pains me to do so, I feel like I should point out that I was following Jo's convention on the miss chances, so an 81 actually missed from concealment (which is why I added "nvm" for 'nevermind' after the roll). I know we often don't retcon hiccups like that, so I'll post as if its still dead but if you want to have it still alive please reassign this round's attack to it.

Emboldened by Briana's healing, and the knowledge that both remaining demons are engage with foes more pressing than himself, Teldon adopts a more aggresive stance once again. Quickly studying the demon to which Jo turned her attention, he stabs at it once before swinging his longspear across at the demon fighting Arsith in an attempt to distract it.

Joanna strikes hard against one of the demons... whilst her companion, her jaws slathering, bites at the beast and tried to drag it to the floor - yet, scorched by acid, she lets go before gaining enough purchase...

She draws a card mutters a Varisian word of power, and taps it to her forehead. The card glows slightly, and she throws it at the demon fighting Arsith.

Several attacks land - steel, spear and rock - but It is the wolf, its skin burning as the acid from the demon drips on to its muzzle, that finally ends the demonic threat that had stepped from the wall... and so cruelly attacked the group.

Having satisfied themselves that the demons are truly slain and that nothing else is poised to attack, the group have time to take stock and to further explore the room. No treasures are here, for this room was clearly still under construction at the time that the Runelords fell - but the carving in the wall, and its possible interpretation, must surely be of interest to the Pathfinder Society...

Healing up and backtracking to the stairs that lead upwards? Or any other plans?
