Yep, I am at 0 HP right now. Shiny, I didn't include you, because I didn't see your token on the map. But now that I think about it, I think I got you and the rogue mixed up. My bad. I'll be sure to look closer at the map, assuming the tree don't eat me this round, lol.
Norjan Slinaria
If you can Retcon me and move me to attack the tree, I thought it was the lighter area on the map in front of Sweet as I could not see any indication of where the tree was. In the future, if you are using MapTools, you can use a halo to indicate hard to spot tokens unless you want it to be difficult for some reason. I probably would not have attacked the wrong tree, unless I am already suffering from madness.
"Sweet" Talulah Sweetrazor
I would have moved to P9 after Norjan moved to L9 to grab the flank.
Sweet, enjoying her new speed, moves into the flank with the pick fighter.
+1 Shortsword flanking/pirhana strike: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 10 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + 10 + (5, 1, 2) = 19
Riggs Parrett
I looked at the map again, and I don't know what the heck I was seeing, Shiny. Gah... DM, is there any way I can retcon and include Shiny? I can include him as it is one character per level, but for some reason I missed his map token. If not, I understand...

Norjan is in J17. So you do not have flank with the pick fighter.

RD1 - Mid RD update
Belloch - cast evil eye hex, moved to J4.
Riggs - cast Haste
Norjan- Moved to J17, attacked a tree
Sweet -
Tree - moved 5 ft then full attack on Riggs. 44 HP of damage.
Fair -
Icahbod - cast defensively enlarge person.
Two questions: Is Shine included in the Haste? And, when do Attacks of Opportunity reset - after your turn, or at the end of the round? I had always assumed the former, but a DM recently pointed out to me that the rules are not clear on this and, at least in his view, its a DM call.
Norjan Slinaria
Is the tree moving through difficult terrain? If so, then it should not have been able to make a 5-foot step I do not think.
Norjam shakes his head in confusion. At least that tree will not decide to come to life and bother us.
Round 2
Norjam then turns and hustles over to help his comrades.
Move to L10.
Acrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Swift Action: Begin Monkey Style <-- I can have 2 styles active due to the Monk of Many Styles.
Attack-Heavy Pick-Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 12 - 2 - 2 = 21
Damage:1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
AC: 26, 28 if within the Protection from Evil circle.
Active: Crane Style, Monkey Style
Stupid tree. Fool me once, shame on me, you won't fool me twice, we need that mage alive.
baldwin the merciful
Shine - yes you are in the haste effect. As far as AoO resetting, I don't recall the resetting question ever come up the group I play with in RL. I can see where the confusion comes. Once per round is mentioned in the rule, I've used it resets at end of round. Rather than the after your turn. If anyone can point me to different ruling, I'm happy to review it.
---
Norjan the huge tree movement doesn't seem to be effected by the 2-3 foot high grasses and weeds.
---
Sweet's short sword pierces a small chunk of the bark but doesn't seem to do as much damage.
Fairsplindle Shiningstar
Perfect, then unless it has combat reflexes, which it might it has taken its AOO for the round. :)
Shine moves to J7, provoking IF the tree has combat reflexes, and the casts Cure Serious Wounds on the wizard.
Cure Serious: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 5, 2) + 6 = 21
(If the creature takes an AOO on Shine, she will cast defensively. )
She says to the group Everyone out side the gate.

RD1 - Mid RD update
Belloch - cast evil eye hex, moved to J4.
Riggs - cast Haste
Norjan- Moved to J17, attacked a tree
Sweet - hits the tree solidly but only chips the bark off.
Tree - moved 5 ft then full attack on Riggs. 44 HP of damage.
Fair - CSW on Fair curing 21HP
Icahbod - cast defensively enlarge person.
----
RD2 begins:
Belloch -
Riggs -
Norjan-
Sweet -
Tree -
Fair -
Icahbod
Norjan Slinaria
I think that the AoO reset should be at the beginning of each round since it is possible, and common, for a player to switch his/her position in the Init by delaying. If the reset is at the beginning of each round, this complication is eliminated.

Here is an updated RD2 Map that has the tree Haloed in Orange.
The tree is 20 feet tall, with a 3 foot diameter, it has gnarled blacken bark and only few reddish brown leaves remaining on its scythe like branches. There is hungry looking slit is near the trunk.
This map has Shine in the wrong place. You must have modified the map before her turn.
Riggs Parrett
Riggs will take a 5' step to J7, and hold off on other actions for the remainder of the round.
Hoping the tree attacks the greater threats so I can get out of his range!
baldwin the merciful
The tree will take the AoO on Norjan swinging a scythe-like branch down.
[AOO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 202d4 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
The tree's limb whooshes down but the nimble warrior ducks the attack. Norjan comes up from his acrobatic movement and his pick hits home but the attack didn't seem to do much damage to the tree.
"Sweet" Talulah Sweetrazor
Sweet takes the chance of getting hit and retrieves an alchemist fire (move), throws it at the giant man eating tree (standard) with his left hand, and then attacks with his right hand.
Ranged Touch Attack to center if tree: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Riggs, Shine is actually in J7, I erred on map. Pick another square you are going into.
Here is the current map.

Sweet the tree did not hit you. it used its AoO
The alchemist fire does some minor damage.

baldwin the merciful
Rd 2: Tree
The tree snarls at the axe wielding enemy and unleashes 2 of its attacks at Icabhod and the third attack on the Shine. Its hungry mouth gaping open.
B1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 162d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
B2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 282d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
The second branch striking the bandaged wrapped creature hard.
Shine:
B3,: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 152d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
The swooshing sound of the branch is well overhead as it misses.
Balthazar Belloch
RD2 Action
Balthazar uses the Hex:Misfortune on the tree. Klaus, attend me He then steps back to H4
Misfortune, SU, DC18
Riggs Parrett
DM, I'll move to K 8 instead. If I am next with my next post, just continue to move me out of the gate. Once I get out of his attack, I'll hit the tree with a Scorching Ray. Thanks.

Norjan Slinaria
Riggs, I drew the AoO, you should be able to move 60' this round and cast the spell I think.
Horjam screams at the tree: That the best ya got ya big old stick of firewood? Attempting to draw all its attacks toward him.

Norjan Slinaria
Round 3
Now that he is next to the tree, Norjan redoubles his efforts to do some damage to the tree knowing that his weapons are not the best suited for the task.
Norjam continues his rather strange fighting style which now resembles a crane trying to pretend that it is a monkey holding two picks.
Attack-Heavy Pick-PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 2 - 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Attack-Heavy Pick-PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 2 - 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Attack-Light Pick-PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 12 - 2 - 2 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Shine calls out for protection from her goddess. The light protect me! as she moves to K8 and casts Shield of Faith on herself. AC is now 30, or 31IF deflection bonuses stack. I have forgotten. It moves to block us inside this courtyard. By Sarenrae, I shall not let that happen.
So tempted to say "You shall not pass!" :)
Balthazar Belloch
Klaus, anoint my arrows with the wrath of the Burning God! With a sneer, Balthazar pulls back on his bow string and cries Now Burn and die!
Familiar uses wand to cast "Gravity Bow". Result:Arrows increase one size category, duration 1 minute.
Balthazars short bow is enchanted with flaming. Projectiles gain 1d6 damage each when activated. Balthazar takes advantage of the haste to fire twice
Please note:target is vulnerable to fire and the d6 in damage rolls has not been modified to account for this.
EDIT: Saving the DM a bookeeping step, I'm just going to add a "+3+ after damage to account for fire vulnerability
to hit 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
damage 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (6) = 9+3=12
to hit 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
damage 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + (6) = 13+3=16
Riggs Parrett
The reason I didn't move after you took the AoO was that I declared my action before you, Norjan, and didn't want to try and retcon.
3rd Round
Riggs delays to see how effective his compatriots were against the tree.
Ill wait til the end of the good guys initiatives to see if anyone takes an AoO, or if I need to back out slowly still.
"Sweet" Talulah Sweetrazor
Round 3:
Sweet's alchemist fire burns for a second round.
1d6 ⇒ 5 I will leave extra dmg to DM
Now in a flank Sweet attempts the cut the tree where it hurts the most. It may be uncritable?
+1 shortsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
+1 shortsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 (due to haste)
Damage: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Sneak attack damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3) = 14
baldwin the merciful
Both of Belloch's arrows miss the tree.
---
Sweet regarding your critical quesiton on a plant, I believe they removed the uncritical on plant life. I think the list of uncritical is pretty narrow now: The list is:
Elementals
Oozes
Swarms
Incorporeal Undead
The list may be bigger but this comes to mind.
Basically anything that is made of all one contiguous material with no discernible different between part A and part B
Sweet's short sword hits twice but the damage from the piercing weapon simply chips a few pieces of bark off.
Edit: The tree takes 5 fire damage.
"Sweet" Talulah Sweetrazor
Dont forget the 5+ fire damage ;)
Norjan did 13 dmg with a piercing and 3 got through. I did 26 with piercing and nothing got through? I'm not sure if I'm right. Just asking.
