Casfi'azair is upset over what he's caused. He never meant to cause any of this, he wishes he could take it back. Casfi sighs sadly and sits down next to his bag and belongings, thinking that perhaps continuing some work will take his mind off of the unintentional carnage he caused. He reaches toward a pile of metal scrap and clockwork pieces. Hundreds of cogs, big and small, are put together in a familiar shape, encased under riveted copper plates. Casfi retrieves his Omni-Tool from his pocket and keeps working. He had been working on this fabrication since long before the beginning of this quest, but sadly, he had only achieved nothing. His creation would never activate, and it depressed him greatly. Again, the fabrication fails to activate, and he tosses his Omni-Tool aside, sighing heavily in defeat. Casfi'azair buries his face in his hands.
A faint whirring sound can barely be heard, but it begins to increase in volume. A faint blue light emanates from beneath the riveted plates, glowing brighter and brighter. The light is focused through two holes on the fabricant's head, acting as glowing eyes. The cogs begin turning, creaking rustily, until the deep beat of a clock's pendulum can be heard from within the machine. Casfi'azair lifts his head, his eyes widening in joy.
The machine's head, in the familiar shape of a dog, turned to face its maker, "Salutations, Master!" Casfi'azair squeals in sheer unmitigated joy.

The goblin obeys and charges at KuJoe again, practicing. Then he stops and turns around eyes big. "Elf make Dogthing." He says, walking over to Casfi. As good as Ix's intentions were, the little goblin was still a goblin and therefore had the attention span of a squirrel..

The clockwork companion Casfi'azair had been working on was finally complete. The brazen fabrication, in the abstract shape of a dog, begins to roll around on treads, looking about its surroundings. The clockwork dog looks to Casfi again, "Orders, Master?" Casfi'azair grins and gently pats the dog on its head, "No orders, only designations!" He then dusts off the metal dog and continues, "Your designation is D.O.G., confirm!" The companion clicks and whirrs, "Confirmation: I am D.O.G." Casfi squeals happily again, "You and I are going to get along fabulously, you adorable little thing you!" D.O.G's dish-like ears spin as his gears click and whirr, "Statement: Affirmative, Master!"

Casfi'azair looks at Sha'llae, puzzled, "Olin?" He then stands up, "Why olin? No, no, no spoilers! Why spoilers?" He asks confusedly, following her now. D.O.G. follows Casfi, as well, just as he was made to. "Statement: We have not yet finished my diagnostic, Master." Casfi'azair raises his hands up at the metal dog, "There's always later, D.O.G. Now stay." D.O.G. stops in its tracks and nods, "Reply: Yes, Master."
Casfi continues to follow Sha'llae, "Wait. Why must you keep saying that? You know that gets me so confused."

Casfi sighs and nods, "Right. That whole deal.... But..." He trails off and sighs again, "...I'm sorry. About earlier. I think I really need to go and talk to Emilia, I've gone and got her all mad." Casfi'azair pouts and looks down at his feet, "That's something I do a lot, isn't it? I don't mean it. I never mean it."

"Em! What's worng? C'mon, talk to me."
Emilia tries to gather herself enough to be able to speak, but fails as she see's her friends face. She throws herself around the gnome and begins to weep all over the creature, not even trying speak coherently.

Leaf has stared at all that's happening in a bit of shock. When she sees Emilia curl up on the ground, she runs over to her. and grabs on of her arms.
"Em! What's wrong? C'mon, talk to me."
Emilia tries to gather herself enough to be able to speak, but fails as she see's her friends face. She throws herself around the gnome and begins to weep all over the creature, not even trying speak coherently.
Er, I seem to have typed my first try into the quoted dialogue. Trying again!

Emilia sobs and sniffles a bit, before taking a deep breath. "When I was young, I had someone... a friend... who died, trying to save me. It was pointless, and cruel, and stupid! And it happened again, with several people. They... were like a family to me. And, I- I- just... watched them suffer... for no reason..." Her voice drops to a whisper and she chokes out the last words before burying her face in her hands.

"Sometimes it's better to give of yourself so that others might live. Yeah what Casfi did was stupid. The two of us are stronger than he is and I had to save him, but that doesn't mean when others die to save those that they love it's pointless." Leaf takes a deep breath before continuing.
"Who'd you say is the better man? The one who runs leaving another to die, or the one who dies so that another can live?"

"I've never seen any gun like this before, but I'll see what I can do. It could take some time though." He looks at the gun again. "I've never been there myself, though I want to go there one day, but this does seem like like something that would come from Numeria."
"If it did come from another planet though, I could reverse engineer it and use it to upgrade my Omnitool and Auto..." The gleam in his eye is hard to miss, and he seems genuinely excited about that possibility.

"It's not broken, I've just been worried about using it. Anyway, those skyfish were too hard to hit with a gun of any sort." She points out. "May I have it back, I'll show you." She pauses. "Oh, Casfi finally finished his pet project, apparently he's studied the ways of Engineering."

"It might take his mind off Emilia." she says as she takes the gun.
"Watch this." She says and holds the gun up, then fires into the sand. "Take a look." She says, pointing to the sand that is now looks like glass.

"Amazing. You know, if we can get sand into the desired shape, and then used this gun, we could make glass sculptures." Enall tells Sha'llae as he kneels down to inspect the glass for a moment. "Well, it's of better quality than what my Omnitool can make. In my opinion, the gun most likely did come from somewhere other than Golorian."

"It also never seems to use bullets, however with some practice I've been able to concentrate and cause it to emit different sorts of energy. It seems to be a highly advanced blend of magic and techonolgy. Maybe from a race that came from beyond the stars." She turns her gaze to the heavens. "Sometimes I wonder what else has come from there, and what they look like. Who they are..." She pauses. "The things Casfi says sometimes... I wonder if he's even an elf."

"Oh, he's very much flesh and blood Enall." She says. "He's not a robot at all, I don't think he'd take kindly to being taken apart, but maybe he'll know something about the gun. If he does, then that could mean he's from out there. What do you think?"

Casfi'azair runs over to Sha'llae and Enall, giggling giddily with D.O.G. following behind him. "Look! I taught him how to play dead! Play dead, boy!" He orders D.O.G., awaiting the construct to follow his order. D.O.G. begins sparking and appears to shut down, becoming immobile. He then reboots himself and returns to consciousness. "Good dog!" Casfi applauds, clapping. D.O.G. nods, "Affirmative. I am a good dog."
"Oh, that's right, yes -- Enall! This is my clockwork companion, D.O.G.!" Casfi'azair beams with pride, showing off his construct.

Casfi'asair sighs deeply, "I'll be honest... I have been working on him for many, many years now. D.O.G. is the product of nearly three decades of work. My lack in engineering skills kept me from completing him in my youth. In my travels, I met fellow engineers, and I learned from the world's greatest. Although... I'm still not that good," Casfi admits, scratching an itch on his nose with his Omni-Tool, quite like a child, looking rather uncouth. "I'm really more of a tinkerer." He grins happily.

Casfi pouts again and nods like a scolded child, "Yes, dear...." D.O.G. looks up at Casfi'azair and tilts his head, "Observation: Master, you appear to be distressed. Do you require rest? Perhaps sustenance?" Casfi chuckles, "No, D.O.G., I'm fine, thanks. I'll bet you need some sustenance, huh?" D.O.G. nods, "Response: Affirmative, Master. Like all clockwork constructs, I require water for sustenance." Casfi'azair reaches into his bag and retrieves his waterskin and bucket, pouring some into the bucket for D.O.G.
