Going through the Woman's belongings, you find a breastplate, heavy flail, 265 gp and on the goblins small shortbow and 16 small arrows.

Most importantly you find a note on the woman with the words scribbled as if in haste.

Kalas feels that the barricades seem unstable, also noticing that elsewhere down the streets there seems to be a massive skirmish with blasts of extreme heat and cold waves being felt.

Lumpii's and Bottles's first glance indicates that the barricades are assembled rather hapzardly but on closer examination discovers that most of them are rigged to fall on the unsuspecting. Informing the rest after discovering the triggers, a series of trip wires, the party is able to easily get past the barricades. This could be a good moment to pause for a rest.

No. What happens is this, all parties have come to the same place and must now 'coordinate on how to bypass it. Each member can opt to do their own thing or aid another. Post what you'll do and I'll summarize and report back. Out of the box thinking would help here and maybe even crazy ones.

The main gates are quiet and appear unmanned.

The gates are not only locked, but heavily damaged. This damage destroyed part of the locking mechanism. It takes a DC 60 Disable Device check or DC 60 Strength check to get the doors open. The gates and the shining white walls are both 30 feet tall.

So, I'm guessing we should pick a method we think we can help with and roll assists.

Dario joins those trying to pick the damaged lock. He helps some of them hold some picks as well as casting Dancing Lights to help the others see into the damaged mechanism.

One group of more mechanically minded pathfinders move to the locking mechanism and start tinkering with it aided by a liberal application of grease, a number of ropes are thrown to the top and people begin clambering up the walls. In another location, another group try brute force and trying to smash their way through. A stone bridge appears out of nowhere, then the flap of wings as a giant roc arrives to pluck people up and drop them on the far side - allowing them to form a defensive perimeter….

Within a minute, the outer gates give way to the small army of ninety highly motivated Pathfinders and their sheer brute force, magic, and mechanical knowledge.

GM take over :)

Once the gates have being crossed due to many pathfinders being more inclined to just bypass the gates, teh party rushes onward and finds themselves in front of what seems to be a battlefield.

Defending Skyreach, a valiant group of Pathfinders line the towers and stations along the fortress’s exterior. On the grounds in front, a large black dragon lies in a crumpled heap, its corpse riddled with arrows and leaking acid and ichor.

The enemy army appears to have being routed and are retreating but unfortunately, you happen to be in the Way!!!!! 3 of the goblins carrying severe wounds attack!

“Come quickly!” a voice from the shadows calls out. Wedged into one of Skyreach’s darkened doorways is the enigmatic Pathfinder, Osprey. He’s paler than usual, several arrows pierce his skin, and his hands are smeared with blood. “I have little time to speak; however, I must now burden you with a suspicion that is now a reality.” Lowering his voice to a soft hiss he whispers, “The Shadow Lodge is real.”

The huge dragon is an imposing site, and has brought the small army to a bit of a standstill, some start trying to work out a way around – seeing a chance to make a break for the single door and hopefully passing through it to the safety of the mausoleum.

A half a dozen of the most seasoned Pathfinders instead ready to make their stand, drawing swords and casting spells – their faces set in grim masks of steely resolve.

Alie Saechel
Boswick Bumbleberry
Dwayne the Rock
Oxirane
Rogar Stonehand

This is the vanguard leading an assault on the dragon, each one of them heroes towards the twilight of their careers – leading what may be their final charge into glory. Should they fall this day their names will live on in song – and forever be engraved on the Wall of Names.

A small number of other journeymen Pathfinder seem equally set on following up on the charge with their steel also at the ready.

Still waiting on reports, so let your GM know your intent. More to follow...

I doubt we can help much with the fighting. Dario isn't much of a sneak, but we can try that.

Natula has an INT of 18 - that would be 'one for the tavern' ordinary but... in times of great catastrophe there is also great opportunity. Besides what with all the 'twilight of their career' Society members leading the charge and providing a great distraction and more than likely space at the top for possible future promotion, we have a chance of sneaking by. Going as a group means that at least one of us (and her bat) should get through. So one more for sneak. Kalas votes that way too. ;)

OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT
*******************

The battle is joined with ferocity, he show is far more spectacular than the entertainment in the Irorium earlier.

The most seasoned Pathfinders appear to be faring well, and a small cohort of around a score are in lending them aid and trying to harry the dragon.

One enterprising group has simply abandoned all due care and has crashed the gates into the mausoleum, leaving the entrance wide open for any who can make it across the courtyard!

GM:
Good morning! :) I have done the rounds of the tables to make sure I have everyones input. Run encounter as normal. Door to mausoleum has been opened
