Okay guys I'm going end the surprise round and round 1. Technically Fisnis still gets to act before the first round is over but I wanted to get this up so Fisnis please post 4 actions in your next post(2 for round 1 and 2 for round 2) so your all caught up. I'll try and have a map updated soon(sorry don't have time now).

Duraz moves over to Yuma's side and cats protection from evil on Yuma. Finik moves up and taunts the creature and successfully gets its attention and it roars at Finik. Thor moves to intercept the creature but can't quite get to thereHe's at G4 now and lets out a frustrated bark. Ghadame double moves to G5 and waits for the creature to come closer. Lokti moves and shoots the creature with his short bow, piecing the creatures hide and it lets out a roar as it takes damage. Andern moves next to Fisnis and makes Fisnis grow to large size. Fisnis casts a spell making his weapon glow and Yuma stands his ground the creature hasn't moved yet and you can't reach him with your javalin from where you are currently so no action is taken. Seeing how Lokti was the only one to hit it this round the creature moves towards himnow at N3 and hurls a javelin and the frogman hitting him for 3 damage.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

For DM's eyes only:
creature hp = 13

init order:
Duraz
Finik
Wolf
Ghadame
Lokti
Andern
Fisnis
Yuma
Monster

DM:
A javelin can be throw up to 150' with range penalties (i.e. -2 for 31'-60', -4 for 61-90, ect.). Was Yuma not able to reach him because of distance or was something fully blocking the shot?

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Did not know you wanted round 1 with surprises round.

Actions for Round 1:

Fisnis looks at the beasts and laughs at it. He than charges at the beasts.
Ends Moment at M-4.
Attack and Damage Roll.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 193d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 2, 5) + 7 = 15

If that is not possible
Fisnis seeing that he can not reach the beast moves towards it.
Moves to J-7

Action for Round 2:

This is the attack after the charge if charge was able.
Fisnis swings his sword at the beast.
Attack and Damage Rolls.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 243d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + 5 = 13

Confirm on Crit.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

If Fisnis could only just move than this.
Fisnis charges at the beast with grin.
Attack and Damage Rolls.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 203d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 6, 4) + 7 = 23

@Yuma: I didn't know you were willing to take the distance penalties, I'll adjust your roll and see if you hit.
@Fisnis: its fine...neither did I until I started summarizing things...lol.

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

Finik will charge the creature with power attack and move to spot M3. After charge AC will be 14.

As Finik charges, he yells "Taste my Axe!"

Attack roll:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage roll:1d12 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

sorry meant to edit my old post but got distracted. Yuma you did end up hitting and I've recorded the damage. Map 2 is up.

HP 15/15, AC 17

The barbarian nods, distant, in appreciation as the spell of protection is placed over him. He feels a comforting warmth, but the focus his senses are reserved on the enemy. After his toss, Yuma is incredulous for a moment as his javelin strikes home. He had never before in his life needed to attack another living thing with the intent to seriously wound or kill, and yet the action came some readily for him that it was almost instinctive and reflexive. Without spending any more time in hesitation Little Horn grips his poleaxe and rushes foward, attempting to remember his boyhood training, and releasing a savage howl more to steel himself then frighten a foe.

If there is a charge lane open on his initiative Little Horn will rage and charge. If there is not he will move to L10, pulling a javelin as he goes, not rage, and throw.

Attack roll if using a javelin: (-2 distance modifier included in die roll)
1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 2 = 19
Damage if a hit:
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Hey! How about I roll my attack roll if I have Yuma charge? That might help, eh?

Attack roll if charging: (+2 STR increase from rage, and +2 from charge factored in)
1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 20
Damage if a hit:
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Lokti, bolstered by the fact that his shot met its mark, focuses all of thoughts on one thing: his target. All of his discipline and training coming to the fore, Lokti releases two more arrows at the creature.

Lokti is standing his ground and using Flurry of Blows. He receives a bonus of +1 to attack and damage for Point Blank Shot.

Attack #1: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7, Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Attack #2: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13, Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Unfortunately, Lokti is distracted at the last moment and his shots are not as straight as intended.

Male Human (Taldan) Oracle/1

AC 14, HP 9/9

"Use it well my friend," Razz says to the barbarian. He runs towards the brute to see if he can give it an even worse time, summoning both his lamest insults and forces from beyond the Void.

"Hey, ugly," he yells, extending a finger, "headache, much?"

Razz is going to move up to J8, assuming this doesn't block the charge lane between him and Finik. If it does he'll move to K9 instead. Either way, readying an action to use Gift of Madness as soon as the thing gets within 30ft of him. DC13 fort save or he's confused for a round. Also, am I still prone?

Edit: Added HP/AC

Oops, shoulda done that myself:

AC = 20
HP = 5/8
Arrows = 37/40

You did say 3 damage right? The roll looks like it should be four. Let me know and I'll correct the total HP. Thanks!

oops yes it should be 4...I failed my reading comprehension check on that one. Once Andern posts for the round we can move on.

M Half-Orc Conjurer (teleportation focus subschool)-1

Sorry guys, the weekend got kinda crazy on me. I'm still alive. Sorry for Holding things up, especially since I'm not doing much this round.
Andern moves to M10 and pulls out his sling.

As Fisnis moves up to it during the end of the first round bugbear drops dead. sorry I should have realized it was dead at the end of the first round and not had you guys wait...oh well. Its about 2 in the morning. You guys get 250 xp for the day(100 for the encounter and 150 for starting the mission and the rp in town).

Male Human (Taldan) Oracle/1

Alright then, one spell down.

Male Human (Taldan) Oracle/1

Razz pauses to breathe for a moment.

"Well that was... intense. Mr. Fisnis, do you find they usually go down that easy?"

He walks up to the creature's corpse and starts doing a search on it with mage hand. Then Razz looks to the sky. He find anything of note? Can take 10 on Perception for 16 total.

"Well, we don't have much night left. I'm willing to nap for a bit longer, although this time I'm sleeping next to my crossbow. We could also strike out–I don't know about you guys, but that certainly woke me up. What do you say?"

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Looking at the body before him than back at the Duraz Fisnis says "I do not know. I trained myself to know magical creatures this is not a magical creature." He than turns to walk over to the fire than says "We should burn the body. The blood might bring animals on the hunt here."

Lokti winces as he feels the a little bit of blood running from the wound he received. He looks to the others, unsure of how to take care of his wound having had no training in that area. "I don't suppose anyone knows how to dress this?

Lokti is currently down to 4 HP out of 8.

Yuma just stares at the...thing that attacked while he retrieves his javelin. He had often viewed death and gore on the steppe when warriors from his tribe returned from battle, but had never personally taken part. It was an unsettling feeling.

"It used weapons. Like a warrior. Why would a single warrior willingly attack such a large group of armed combatants, even at night? Are these beasts a common menace here?"

Little Horn turns to Lokti, looking concerned.

"I haven't been trained in medicine and healing, but I've seen enough doctoring to help someone who is."

Yuma will attempt to Aid Another a heal check if anyone tries:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Looking at Lokti Fisnis says "I can dress the wound." He than goes over to look at Lokti's wound before dressing it.

Heal Check
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Female Human(Taldan) Druid 1

Yuma and Fisnis are able to dress the wound and then Ghadame comes over and places her hand gently on the wound "Be healed little one" she says and her hand starts to glow. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

"There that should be better." She then looks at Yuma and nods "Unfortunately such things are common in these woods, and much more vial creatures will lurk deeper with in, we're still on the very outskirts but be sure that as we travel further on our journey things like this will be common place. He most likely wanted foot and saw us as an opportunity to eat." Ghadame then takes a moment to glance at the beast and squints her eyes at it. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

"Looks like that used to be a bugbear and your fight Fis we should probably burn the body, but those things typically way about 400 pounds so I won't be any help in moving it" she says having enough knowledge to properly identify the creature.

Razz you find medium sized leather armor, 2 javelins, a heavy wooden shield, and a morning star on the creature.

I feel much better now. Thank you, madam. And you as well, Fisnis and Yuma.

Back to full HP :)

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

”Nice job, glad to see you can use that large sword almost as well as I wield my axe haha. ” Fin says to Fisnis, he then puts his great axe on his back and waits for Razz to take off the bugbear’s equipment. Then after his brother has looted the body, Fin will offer to help move the creature to the fire. ”Since ya’ll killed this beast before I got here it’s only fair I help with clean up. Besides my brother and sister aren’t very good when it comes to anything evolving strength hehe.” Fin laughs as he goes to move the body. Whoever helps him move the body he will offer them to share a drink of whiskey with him.

DM:
Hey I was wondering if I could use a Knowledge (local) check to see if I heard how the bugbears usually attack people in the woods or if the attacks have change since the illness has hit the town. Knowledge (local) roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Finik:
you know that bugbears do attack people but its odd to only find a single bugbear. You also know that they are the least of the problems in those woods as far more dangerous creatures live in those woods, including wild minotaurs and centaurs.

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Looking at Finik Fisnis says "I will help you move it. The faster we can get rid of the body the quicker we can sleep. "

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

After Fin and Fisnis move the body, Fin takes out his flask and takes a drink then offers it to Fisnis. "Thanks for the help Fisnis. It's odd, these beasts usually never attack alone there could be more around so the remaining watches should be ready for more intruders. Who knows maybe a Minotaur heard us then we can really test our skills out hehe." Fin says.

Does a Perception check to see if I can hear or see any other ambushers1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Fisnis shakes his head at the offer of the flask than says "So this thing might of some allies? This one might of been a scout that got little ahead of itself."

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

"I wonder if we should try to track his footsteps a little bit to see if we can find out if there is more of them."Fin suggests.

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Fisnis thinks for a moment than says "That might be a bad idea. We do not know how many more of these there are if more are about or if this one was just a trap. I think we should just rest so we can move on."

M Half-Orc Conjurer (teleportation focus subschool)-1

"I agree with Fisnis. We finish out the night and get moving early in the morning. I'd rather not engage a bunch of bugbears in the dark when as a party we can't see well at night. We do need to get rid of that body quickly so we don't attract his friends."

Once Razz has the loot off the bugbear Fisnis and Finik are able to slowly drag the body towards the fire. Thor will also give you a little help but he tends to tear more chunks off than really drag the thing. Once you guys get it to the fire everyone goes to sleep and the next morning you guys awake to the smell of burnt bugbear. Other than the smell there is little to notice this morning and you guys set off.

You travel for a few more hours and it begins to rain and the path quickly starts turning to mud, making the travel slower going but you continue trudging through the rain. Every once in a while you'll find old deserted camps where the lumber consortium used to be located but aren't there anymore because they had cleared and then replanted all the trees in the area. Where you are now the camps seem to date back about 20. If anyone goes to explore the camps there is nothing of interest left other than the a few outlines where the tents and such were, everything else had been moved. You travel until about late afternoon and come upon another abandoned camp in the distance, but this time its occupied. Make me perception checks.

Perception DC 10:
You focus in on the camp and see that there is an assortment of creatures living in this abandoned camp. From here you can make out the horns of at least 1 minotaur and you sense at least 2 bugbears are also in the camp.

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Fisnis looks around as the group walks through the woods.

Perception:

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Yuma twitches uncomfortably at the burning of the body that his party had slain. It could use weapons. It was intelligent. It probably had friends and family in with its people. And he had helped to kill it. The thought made him nearly as nauseous as the smell of the burning flesh. It made the barbarian feel even worse that he mourned the passing of an enemy rather than celebrated like most among his people. If possible he felt even more distant from the family he had left behind. Little Horn sleeps poorly that night, mulling over recent events and jotting down his feelings in poetic verse in his personal tome when he couldn't get any decent rest.

Yuma Ahote's perception check:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

The following day Yuma stops short in their travels as he sees more beasts ahead. He attempts to pull off into the foliage before any potential enemy notices him.

Yuma Ahote's stealth check:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Wow. Terrible.

"Danger ahead. More beast men. Bugbears, Ghadame called them. [He whispers to any group member that doesn't appear to notice.]"

Horned creatures are revered in Little Horn's tribe, who worship the spirit of the ram, and as he sees the minotaur he tries to recall any stories he may have heard about the powerful looking brutes.

Yuma Ahote's knowledge (nature) check:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Female Human(Taldan) Druid 1

Wow just great...I didn't have the perception check spoilered right at first...fixed it now though.

As Yuma tries to sneek into the woods he steps into a puddle on the forest floor making a bit of a sloppy splashing sound(more mud than water) but it doesn't seem that the beasts noticed him. Ghadame sneaks off into the woods behind Yuma and Thor goes off into the woods after her.

[ooc]Ghadame's Stealth Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
[ooc]Thor's stealth check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Yuma's knowledge nature results:

You seem to remember from the stories told around many fires that these beasts have been scorned by the civilized races centuries ago and born from a deific curse. They have hunted, slain, and devoured lesser humanoids in retribution for real or imagined slights for as long as anyone can remember. Your culture has legends of how the first minotaurs were created by vengeful or slighted gods who punished humans by twisting their forms, robbing them of their intellects and beauty, and giving them the heads of bulls.

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

Perception check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Fin moves with his sister to watch over her since sneaking around just isn't her. He will not let her know he's behind her if I can. He actually stays quiet and focuses on the beastmen.
Stealth Check:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Perception - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Lokti, seeing the beasts ahead, decides to try and get a better view. He whispers to the group, "I am going to attempt to get a better vantage point."

Are there any climbable trees near the camp? If so, Lokti will climb one (he can automatically take 10 for a total of 24 because he has a climb speed of 20ft. If the DC is higher, use the climb check below. If there are no nearby trees, he'll just sneak forward with the rest of the group.

Stealth - 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Climb - 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

Lokti you are able to climb a tree, its rather small as its only about 15 years old but it holds your weight no problem.

Ghadame's perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Ghadame's balance check to not slip in the mud:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Hearing the footsteps behind her Ghadame turns quickly and slips in the mud under her feet. Looking up at Fin she scowl's at Finik "Warn me next time...now help me up" she says exasperatedly.

DM only:

Minotaur perception check1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Bugbear perception check1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

With all the noise that's been happening in the bushes both the Minotaurs and bugbears take notice and start scanning the area and find the party. "Go alert the others" one of the bugbears says and then taps the minotaur on the arm and points towards Ghad, and Fin.

Male Human (Taldan) Oracle/1

Razz hears his siblings in trouble and bolts over as quickly as he can to do... something about it.

Razz's stealth, determine whatever circumstantial modifiers: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Don't know if this is already and option, but Razz is going to run as close to Finik and Ghad as possible, preferably in one move action. Then he's going to ready to cast murderous command on any enemy that gets within 25ft. If it goes through, DC 13 Will save or the affected enemy has to spend its next turn trying to attack an ally.

"Don't worry guys, if they come near us I'll give them something to freak out about."

M Half-Orc Conjurer (teleportation focus subschool)-1

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

How far off are the minotaur and bugbears?

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

Fin picks up his sister with ease, he whispers, "Jeez sis, I think you alerted the whole camp." After he helps her out of the mud, he takes out his sling and begins to load it as the creatures point to them. He then whispers an idea to Ghadame"Hey Damey(Maybe annoying nickname for Ghadame hehe) do you have that one spell ready that uses the plants,(he pauses for a moment and tries to think of the name.) You know the one you used to slow me down at the site so foreman finally caught me"(Entangle). Fin will wait for his brother's okay before he acts, since he has screwed up his spells in the past.

Doing a perception check to see if the path the minotaur would take is muddy or if theres lots of trees. Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Female Human(Taldan) Druid 1

Okay guys great to see you forming plans on how to work through this battle. I'll have a map up hopefully by the end of tonight though most likely it will be tomorrow morning. Did everyone find the maps helpful last time? Go ahead and roll me initiative, actions can wait until I get a map up. Mages have full spell as there would have been time to do any preparation before they left in the morning. It also just stopped raining.

Ghadame growls a little as she is helped out of the mud. "Had you not snuck up on me it wouldn't have been a problem. And yes I have entangle ready. Though I'm going to have to be careful if I use it because the people who like to be more up close and personal won't be able to get that close." Ghadame stood her ground readying for the upcoming battle.

Ghadame init1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Thor init1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Andern:
the minotaur and bugbears are still a good 50-100 feet off so plenty of time to prepare an offensive strike

Finik:
There is a large area of mud between you and the camp that the bug bear will have to cross to get to you and your sister

Little Horn's initiative:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Quickly learning that initiative is not going to be Yuma's strong suit.

Male Human (Taldane) Rogue (swashbuckler/scout)

Finik's initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Initiative:

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Male Human (Taldan) Oracle/1

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Map is done but I'm going to wait for andern to post is init and then we'll start combat and I'll post the map. Everyone will be able to act in the surprise round.

Bugbear init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Minotaur init: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

M Half-Orc Conjurer (teleportation focus subschool)-1

Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Excellent guys thank you for your patience I'm going to have to post up the map and run I have two meetings to go to but I'll be back in about 4 or 5 hours. Your map can be found here. Everyone can act this round. Again please post 2 actions just in case the first one doesn't work and I'll summarize everything once everyone's posted.

Here is init order:
Fisnis

Minotaur
Lotki
Razz
Ghad
Andern
Finik
Thor
Yuma

Male Half Elf Inquisitor(Preacher), level 3

Fisnis moves closer to the enemy.
