Also I will be camping from saturday jun 28th through thursday jul 3rd. it will be on an island, and somewhat distance from a tower, so reception may be an issue. hopefully i have enough of a signal to get a webpage to load even if its super slow.

Other than it sort of takes away the whole can't stop you from dying without magical healing thing, it sounds great. Can we agree to allow it with a limitation of one time per creature ber day (that is once you have touched someone, you cannot touch them again with this power until 24 hours has gone by)?
Fluuk |
Its effectively the same as a 0 level orison/cantrip 'stabilize' that is available to most spellcasting classes, which would achieve the same effect, so you may want to rule the same way with that, dunno?
I can definitely choose something else, if it will ruin the flavor of the game. I'm actually happy to choose something else, might go with beastbond.

I think I'll go with:
Arcane Temper: You have quick reactions and fierce concentration. You gain a +1 trait bonus on concentration and initiative checks.
Should I remove stabilize as one of my cantrips?
Terquem |
Stabilize, as a cantrip, would effect the tone of the game, but it is magical healing after all, so I'll let you decide on that
I am still underwater with a few responsibilities I need to take control of, but I hope to have the game specific traits ready today and short list of rules changes for basic play

I’ve been working on a few traits, been deleting some, and then trying again, and so far I’ve come up with these. They aren’t too particularly special, but they’ll do (if you have a Campaign Trait Suggestion, please let me hear what you have in mind).
Also, so far I’ve only identified two large differences from Basic to Regular Pathfinder
1) There are no Attacks of Opportunity, you don’t get them, and neither do the Monsters
2) There are no rules for Combat Maneuvers (in either the Hero’s Book or the Adventure/GM Book)
I’ll keep reviewing, but I think I’m going to allow Combat maneuvers (they are not that difficult to manage) but keep the AOO out of this game
Campaign traits
1) Scat Collector – among your community you are one of the chosen Scat Collectors, a special individual with a knack for identifying the droppings of unique creatures (Dragons and Dinosaurs). When using the Survival Skill to track any animal or magical beast, you find droppings whenever you roll 5+ higher than the DC required to track that creature. When droppings are found there is a 10% chance (+1% per HD of the creature being tracked) to find a useful item in the droppings from the following list
D12
1 or 2 – A Handful of bullets (3d3 bullets)
3 or 4 – A torch that was never used
5 – a pair of hard leather boots
6 – a handful of silver and gold coins (d3 gold + 2d3 silver)
7 – a small patch of chain mail
8 or 9 – a small knife
10 or 11 – a small ceramic pot filled with black powder (five shots worth)
12 – a small ceramic jar containing an Alchemic concoction of the Player’s choice
You can also search for the scat of Dragons, which is known to be flammable, and can be used to easily start camp fires, or make torches that will burn for six turns. To find Dragon Scat you must make either a Survival Skill Check or a Knowledge Wilderness Skill Check and get a 20+. You may only search once every hour.
2) Cave Checker – your family comes from a long line of daring individuals who are willing to be the first to explore caves to determine their suitability for habitats. You receive a +2 to any Survival Skill Check made in Caves, and a +1 to any Saves you are required to make that cause Fear while in any Cave
3) Message Runner – You have been (for a time) apprenticed to the Messengers Guild, and can not only read and write common, but can often identify unique writings and wall messages left by Goblins of the ancient past. You get a +2 to any Skill Check you make when trying to decipher “Ancient Writings.”
4) Elemental Wrangler – your family has been in the business of catching, herding, and managing small wild elementals. This has left you with a mark, a visible identifier that takes the form of a physical trait of your choosing. You have Energy Resistance of one of the following types (Electric, Smoke, Cold, Fire, or Acid). This is a Special Energy Resistance, and you ignore one point of damage per die of Energy Damage you are subjected to.
Gemdar |
How about this for a trait:
Forager: You are skilled at identifying the flora and fauna that are useful for healing people or are edible. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Heal and Profession (Chef) checks. Allows you to make a knowledge nature check and one hour of time to gather enough plants and small critters to feed one person with DC 10, enough for one more person for each 5 the DC is beaten by. DC can be raised based on sparseness of vegetation and critters.

Summer time can be a busy time for a lot of reasons. This weekend I am running to Salt Lake City to pick up my daughter who is returning from Nepal, so I'll be away for a couple of days. I'll try to post if anything important comes up like a question about the game or an important Character action
You know, I don't think you are supposed to be allowed to use Rapid Shot with a firearm, which requires reloading, but what the heck, I'll allow it.

Yeah I think normally you need rapid reload and it would only apply to certain ones, but heck that's extra cool.

*Slavery among Goblins and Gnomes
Some Gnomes will capture Goblins, usually returning them to their families for a ransom, but occasionally (in the case of truly evil Gnomes) keep the Goblins as a kind of “Slave” now the same is true of some Goblin tribes, but in both cases this is not an actual form of Slavery, and usually it is a semi-sort of mutual agreement between the “captured” individual and the capturers that working for the other is an acceptable change of life, and probably an opportunity to avoid some negative aspect of living back with your own family.
Slaves can be treated badly (unusual), but are often treated like part of the family, and the exact nature of this ongoing sort of slavery is complicated at best.
Now, it is no secret that the Humans, Dwarves, and Elves of the township of Gail, where the Rivers Bend look upon this behavior with disgust and have often times confronted Goblin Chiefs with demands to put an end to the practice (with limited success, as there are now some Goblin Tribes that do not practice slavery).
Also, it is well known that Gnolls and Kobolds practice even fouler forms of slavery, even to the point of treating Humans, Dwarves, Elves and Goblins as livestock.
It is not known by any of you if Gnomes interact with Kobolds or Gnolls as the Gnomes live on the east side of the canyon and the Gnolls and Kobolds live beyond Gail to the west of the canyon.

I just want to be sure i don't miss somebody's intentions this time so, if I understand everyone correctly
Fluuk and Tabaaac, with Ehsmaralduh – will approach the gnomes
Ul Skub – will be hanging back with Wup
Wup – is hanging back (and encouraging Penny to stay back where she can be protected)
Gemdar – is hanging back
Gobzilla – is hanging back
Is this correct?
Terquem |
Okay, I admit I don't understand firearms as well as I need to, so please, don't change on account of my confusion, keep doing what you are doing I think it's great.
I will be doing the family theme park thing this weekend, so my posting will be sporadic. Expect things to get moving again on Monday

*Alicrocabolds are small Lizard men, squat of limbs with fat tails, thick necks, and long snouts with large teeth. They do not tend to cooperate with any other creatures, and to hear that they are in league with Kodolds is troubling. Alicrocabolds are known to use spears, lances, crossbows, and clubs when they are at war. They often ride small four legged dinosaurs which resemble alligators.
**Tomatoes grow wild in the canyon, and are a delicacy among Goblins

Some trading, Masterwork weapons for Gunpowder, is available here
Anyone else want to participate in the encounter? If not, we can more on as soon as you are ready
Here's a heads up
I think I am going to try my first attempt at Mounted Combat of the PbP forum variety, hope I can pull it off well.

We are making the final preparations to put our daughter on a plane for Australia (we are headed to Salt Lake City tomorrow). I've been very distracted. I will try to get things back on track Saturday when I return
Flukk - nice way to integrate your build into the role play, awesome, good nose use.

A heads up announcement, and I will repeat it as the time draws nearer. Most of the timer I am a slightly unreliable poster. Most of the time
Coming up soon I will be a part of a major power system outage where I work, that will last for a week, while we bring in several large contractors to perform system maintenance on our electrical distribution system
I will be very busy from Sept 8, thru the 12
Also, for my Its “A” Dungeon games, I am working on revision 6, which is mostly a formatting exercise, and hopefully the tables will not change, much.
The Mighty Wup |
As a heads-up, I'll be at Pacificon this weekend, the 29th through the 1st. I will try and check the boards each night and make sure I'm not missing something super important, but posting will be minimal. GMPC my character if necessary.
