Karek Redhand |
As Karek is stepping back, is he close enough to reach out a hand and aid Bavmorda in climbing? He can't see her, but she can see him.
OK, looked at the map and I'm not. Karek will try to move back enough to reach her on his next Initiative.
Groomahk |
Heya!
Bav's player here. Ya,so.. Bav's wasn't working for me. And, having a will-save focused character in a game based on will-save immune/strong foes was like the DUMBEST idea i've ever had in my life. So, meet Groomahk, because we need MORE steel slingers in this game
Rikal Elkhorn |
Wooo! More face smashing!
I think I'm gonna start taking archery feats, just so I can attack enemies without being in the way.
Chotka, Last of the Blackeyes |
Quick update for all of my campaigns. I'll be on vacation from the 8th to the 23rd with limited or no internet access, so probably won't be able to update at all during that time. Please feel free to control me as needed, and see you all when I return. :D
Izzak Strongbrow |
Quick update, I have stable interent again, though being deployed might limit how often I can post, with possibly days between if I get hounded by my sgt, so just thought i should tell all of you. That i can post semi regularly most days now
Groomahk |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
glad to have you back (this is Bavmorda's player, she died.. it was tragic. we cried)
Samnell |
Samnell can i get a quick rundown of what has happened?
Sure. You rescued the girl with the missing father from that robot. After that the party went around and talked up the local priest. He offered up water breathing to get everyone down into the caves, which you took and went. There you fought a blindheim that blinded most of the party and murdered Bavmorda's wolf.
From there you pressed further into the caves and Bavmorda died to a trap because her player wanted to switch PCs. The party found some Numerian goo and came on a settlement of skulks, who agreed to trade safe passage through their home and information for your murdering some gremlins. You did that and the skulks told you that a party had been through before, led by a woman with purple hair and including orcs. They went into the ship that's down in the caves, which the party has just entered. Then a pair of robots popped up. They're attacking Groomahk, who was sent in to join you by the guy who sent you in the first place and replaces Bavmorda.
Groo is a simple creature who only speaks Orc and murder. He seems to believe that Chotka is in charge, but mainly Chotka has been holding Groo's leash and translating for him.
Groomahk |
hey, i'm heading to the Big Island tomorrow and won't be back with reliable internet until Sunday. So, feel free to bot me.
Samnell |
So...missing players.
I've sent Karek and Owen PMs asking if they're still with us. Also sent one to Izzak, who is out on deployment and probably has RL in the way.
I hope everyone comes back and it's fine, but realistically I think Izzak's gone for the duration. Maybe Owen and Karek too. Six PCs is fine. Five doesn't worry me too much. Three is obviously unsustainable. If that's the case, and you three are interested in continuing, I'd go looking for replacements. I'm going to give all three about a week to get back to me.
Chotka, Last of the Blackeyes |
Hit Points
Take your maximum at every level.
Also... I believe there's some gross grey slimy stuff to be drunk that's going to kill all of us?
Rikal Elkhorn |
Shoot. I missed that when I looked. Okay, great. Now to finish up leveling.
And with a background skill rank in Linguistics to learn Taldane, and Versatile Performance, I am now fully capable of speaking with and engaging with the citizens of Torch.
Rikal Elkhorn |
That will be the next language I learn, for sure. I also put a rank into the Swim skill, since that seems to be relevant to our needs currently.
For my new 1st-level spell I'm grabbing Liberating Command. If we face more 4-armed skeletons that like grappling or robots that shoot nets, I'm thinking it might come in handy.
Chotka, Last of the Blackeyes |
I'm updated to level 2, I also picked up Taldane so I might be able to actually use diplomacy, as well as swim so we don't have any more embarassing drowning moments.
Karek Redhand |
Working on Karek's level.
Firstly though.
Bottoms up.
Numerian fluids: 1d100 ⇒ 92
Well that takes care of any lingering wounds, Karek doesn't notice the increase in appetite as he happily eats and drinks to celebrate their return to Torch.
On the table for Numerian fluids in the PFSRD. 91-92. The drinker gains fast healing 5 for 24 hours, but must consume twice as much food and water as normal.
Groomahk |
Groomahk's going to stay ignorant for a bit :-p
He'll also drink some strange liquids.. for fun
numerian fluid: 1d100 ⇒ 59
Rikal Elkhorn |
We found enough for everyone to take one drink.
Rikal will likely pass, however. He drank them once. No need to do so again.
Samnell |
Missing players.
Ok, so neither Owen nor Izzak has gotten back to me. I told them I'd give about a week and that's come and gone. That means the party stands at:
Chotka, orc oracle/bloodrager
Groo, orc barbarian/druid
Karek, human brawler/alchemist
Rikal, human skald/slayer
Honestly, I think that's a pretty good lineup and am inclined to continue as-is. We had some bad dice luck and a bit of pushing the envelope (on both sides of the screen) in the previous few fights, but all in all you look pretty beefy and hit the main niches. But if there's a strong sense you need to be beefed up a little I'm open to that.
Loot
So yeah. Most of the time I don't use loot accounting of any kind, but rather handwave it with a virtual wealth by level. That doesn't fly here because part of the fun is the chance to play with tech stuff, including the risk of corrupting your properly barbaric souls by doing something crazy like drinking spaceship poo. I made that choice then did not think to handle the necessary back end.
Long story short: I'm personally a bit uncomfortable making decisions about who gets what goodies and reliably terrible at doing loot accounting. But it's no good if you get loot and it just rolls off the page. Some options.
1) Grab & Go. I'll post loot when you get it and then it's just up to you to claim things for your PCs. When it's time to sell stuff in town, someone can go through and check to see what wasn't claimed.
2) A spreadsheet. We can set up a sheet with Gdocs or something similar to track loot. There's a bit more upfront work, but then it largely runs itself. If you want something, you speak up in the thread and mark it as yours on the sheet. I have some old files I can re-purpose if necessary, which have a bit of built-in analytics.
3) A lootmonger. One of you basically takes charge, with or without a spreadsheet, and keeps a running tally. Decisions about who gets what remain yours, just somebody handles most of the logistics.
Up to you.
Since I forgot, here's the loot to date:
Blindheim fun
42gp
a silver icon of a pickaxe made from human bones and a skull (25gp)
and three potions (2 cure light, 1 remove blindness)
Brown Mold
7 silverdisks, each worth 10gp to the right buyer.
1 dose numerian fluid
3 Dead Halflings
1 55gp agate.
I-forgot-where
3 more doses of numerian fluid, so everyone can take a turn.
Groo, Karek, and Chotka all sucked down some space sauce, so it looks like there's one dose floating around. If you want to sell it, it's worth 500gp
Rikal Elkhorn |
Okay, definitely not selling the potions. We may need them.
I'm in favor of the spreadsheet, personally.
49 silverdisks
5 brown access cards
So, that's:
56 silver disks (10 gp to the right buyer)
1 agate (55 gp)
a silver icon of a pickaxe made from human bones and a skull, possibly (un)holy symbol of Zyphus (25 gp)
42 gp
5 brown access cards (worth...)
I'm thinking sell the symbol to the church (if he's an evil deity and they want to destroy it), and ask who we can sell the disks to.
Samnell |
Ok so stuff. The issue this past week, which has hit you guys the worst, has been some legal trouble a loved one has. But we saw a lawyer today and he thinks they're a whole lot of nothing. So that's probably resolved.
Also those spreadsheets I remembered having? Must've deleted them at some point. Go me.
However, I have recreated and slightly improved on what I had. A draft version is here now. The way I see this working is that you can just claim something by putting the right quantity in your column and the math should all work. When new loot comes, it can just get filled in as we go. That all work for you? Any ways I can improve it or make it more intuitive?
If it's good I'll need to sort out edit rights (basically I'd need an email I can grant permissions to) and put things in motion. Either way, the sworn band presently has 1,542gp of stuff they could liquidate. I did put consumables on, but not the already consumed doses of space sauce. Figure when a potion is used we can just zero the quantity and it's all good.
Rikal Elkhorn |
Don't forget the loot we got from Sef for offering stupid fuzzy creature heads to her and her chief.
49 silverdisks
5 brown access cards
We have those, too.
Chotka, Last of the Blackeyes |
Glad things are sorting themselves out for you.
I suggest we hold on to the cure potions and the access cards at the least, since those things will almost definitely come in handy. Obviously Chotka would be sad to give up the last dose of crazy space drugs as well.
Groomahk |
If u post it on the site and say "anyone with link" then we all can edit it from here
