Party Prince and Man of Gold, Augustine Langlais | Knowledge Noble

Augustine rises from his knees, grinning at Reyes as the boy walks towards a chair and takes a seat. The noble pushes his black hair behind his ears, straightens his jacket and looks to the podium. He examines the top letter of the remaining stack of items to be auctioned before glancing across the crowd towards those gathered by the food and drinks.

After a minute of sorting through the remaining letters, he lets out a loud, sharp whistle. He yells out, no longer imbued with whatever magic he casted earlier. “Are we all ready to continue?

The crowd is much quicker to give their host their attention. Some conversations persist, attempting to find closure, while other rapidly fall apart to return to the auction.

Augustine gives a minute for things to change to his liking. He seems more calm and relaxed from when he started the auction, and waits patiently for all to return to their charitable moods. He turns his attention to the items on the stage, giving his attention to the clockwork servant in particular.

It appears we have a special item, another request by one of our lovely guest to present their goodies for you all!” He waves a letter between his fingers, sealed with crimson wax, though a name is written above. “She saved the best for last, it seems! Everyone, please give a cheer to Halcyon d’Orsay! Assist her with the stairs, won’t you Vince?

To Halcyon:
The host gives you a whisper should you arrive. “I love surprises, but you really could’ve warned me, darling.

The exact contents of the letter will be provided shortly. It is marked with your name and a short statement on your supposed intent to present the item detailed within. Decide however you'd like to deal with this.

Feel free to wrap up existing conversations, this update is transitioning to something different. If you want to carry out some conversations after we move forward, feel free to spoiler the dialogue and I’ll respond appropriately.

Seth keeps to the bar area, content with his position. "Standing around gets really boring really fast, but money is money I suppose." Seth pauses for a moment and turns from Evelynn to the bartender and asks the him for a water. As Evelynn mentions 'that girl', Seth quirks his eyebrows in confusion. He looks towards Halcyon then back to Evelynn, then back to Halcyon, and then back to Evelynn once more. "Are you referring to Halcyon? If so I barely know her, and I doubt she could trounce me."

Handle Animal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Halcyon nearly drops her drink as her name is called out and she feels all eyes turn to her. She remembers first and foremost that she must keep up appearances, so she holds out her drink as if to set it down on the counter, raising and lowering it to see if the counter is below it, getting it to the bar after the third try (or with Vincent's help).

She let's go of Mako's harness to take Vincent's arm, moving slowly. She means to give Mako a command for the dog to follow her, but it comes out somewhat ambiguous, a hand gesture that could be interpreted as either stay or follow.

Her heart thumping, she smiles and under the cover of the general crowd noise whispers to Vincent,

Whispered words, Perception 17 + 1 / 10 ft.:
"There must be some mistake. I have submitted no other items for auction!"

Perception DC is based on general DC to hear details of a whispered conversation of 15. If there is noise from other people talking, then that seems to me to be unfavorable conditions, upping the DC by 2.

At the stage, depending on what Augustine and Vincent do, Halcyon will examine the envelope if it is given to her and first look at the handwriting to see if she recognizes it and if the writer has made any attempt to forge her handwriting.

"When I was younger, I always told myself that the sense of 'belonging' was a lie we all tell ourselves to feel better about conforming. If belonging meant changing who I was, I didn't want to belong. It's silly, looking back; the sort of petty thing a person says when they're jealous of others. 'I didn't want that anyway!' you know? There was nothing I could change about me back then to belong. Now, I understand that belonging isn't just about changing yourself, but also about changing those around you." Gill turns to regard Mirabelle. "Things are changing; slowly, sure, but it's happening. I'll be opening the first real clinic in the sewers, hopefully soon, to make things easier while those less fortunate wait for the necessary change to allow them to belong. I wonder if, even a year ago, anyone imagined even that could happen." She turns to look inside as Augustine begins speaking again.

The Whisper on the Winds, Mirabelle Zephirine | Theme Song | Know Local

For a bit, Mirabelle appears sullen. The wind dies as Guillaumine speaks, Mirabelle nodding blankly as she listens to the doctor speak of her past, of changing herself and those surrounding her. It is clear she understands, perhaps empathizes even with her somewhat vague story. “And eet leads to zis. Us here, unwinding.

The rumormonger breaks a smile after the doctor mentions the upcoming clinic. “A year? I did not believe eet when I learned of eet days ago. Not in zis city.” She begins to follow after Gill. Her wind starts once more. “Ah, just as I was getting familiar with zat face of yours. Good bye Guillaumine. Welcome back to zee party, Docteur Sanz.

The Unbreakable Bulwark, Evelynn Durant | Know Local

You thought I meant her?!” Evelynn laughs heartily, bending forward, curled over as much as her heavy armor allows. “I- I was talking about Ravenhall’s mercenary! Gods, if you were taken down by a blind woman, you’d need to worry about a lot more than our little sponsorship.” The armored woman shakes her head, unable to quell a smile.

"A bit sad you gave a thought to fighting that blind twig, Seth." You can tell she is joking, despite never hearing her jest before now. It comes somewhat as a surprise, she seemed unwilling to show such emotion in front of Guillaumine and Emile. "Allow her a champion. Sure Vince'll fight for her, take on him. That'd be a treat to watch." No longer is she joking. You suspect she very much would like to see that fight. You also suspect that she'd rather see you winning that match.

Augustine smiles at the oracle as she takes the stage with him. Vincent holds close to Halcyon. The host watches the oracle examine the letter. “Did you forget how generous you were, dear? Stalling for attention? I know I would.

Augustine giggles, covering his mouth as he does so. His eyes flicker between the seer and Vincent. "How adorable, might I add. I didn't know Vince-y was the dating type. How'd you do it, deary, I've been trying for years."

Again he giggles. It seems he does not notice Halcyon's state of mind, or at least pays it no care as he slips her the letter marked with her name.

To Halcyon:
What is scribbled on the envelope doesn’t attempt to copy your handwriting. Should you have another sample of one’s writing, you could compare to see if there was a match, but otherwise, the handwriting does not look familiar or notable to you.

Oh. No, I’m, I didn’t mean -” Beatrice seems distraught. “Sorry, I, I didn’t mean that. You aren’t like that, I know that.” She pauses. "I'm- I'm sorry."

One of the items to be auctioned, the wardrobe behind Halcyon, Augustine, and Vincent, displays a peculiar effect. A mirror upon one of the wardrobe's two doors begins to ripple slightly. The reflection of the crowd distorts. No one within the warehouse can make out a form within it. Most however, don't even pay attention to the mirror, instead looking at the host and the oracle.

Halcyon, Seth, Raphael, Marcus, and Valentina recognize the effect in the reflective surface. The Man in the Mirror, the assailant they attempted to chase on the morning of New Year’s, displayed a similar phenomenon through the mirror he and his colleagues entered from. To those aware of the spells effect, one was to enter the warehouse through the mirror realm.

Some within the warehouse do recognize the magical effect, or in the very least, the rippling mirror:

  • Alexander Ravenhall brandishes a knife. His other hand falls to his chest, on something under his clothes.
  • Mirabelle's eyes go wide, recognizing the effect for what it is. She does not act, however, remaining tense, unmoving within the the crowd of guests.
  • Gerard finishes his drink, slamming his empty glass to the counter. He cocks his jaw left and right. He begins to walk to the stage, grin stretched wide, fists clenched.
  • The secretary of Sinclair LeBlanc eyes the mirror, her arm extends in front of her employer protectively. The old man's smile fades.
  • The alchemist Sibylle's arm retreats into her blanket. She blinks, nonchalant, though aware of what goes on.
  • Reyes removes a glove from his hand, exposing flesh outside his face. Augustine seems to take note, glancing back to the rippling mirror.
  • The halfling officer's hand falls to the firearm at his side. He lets out a sharp whistle.
  • Mako, trailing behind Halcyon and Vincent, barks out, piercing the conversations of the crowd.
So everyone can react appropriately, you maybe have five seconds before someone emerges from the mirror. Act knowing you'll be cut off. Initiative has already been rolled, though you may prepare an action if you'd like.

It occurred to me that I forgot to note out my alchemist extracts and the like when this began, so I'm making some minor changes to my inventory, pending your approval.

Gill is is so dangerously close to exceeding a heavy load that she can't actually carry the vials necessary for extracts, mutagens, bombs, etc. First, I need to determine how much everything will weigh, and see what I need to leave behind from there.

Gill will have prepared one of her two extracts, cure light wounds. The second, she previously prepared as ant haul and used to carry her donations here in the first place. She'll have brought the catalysts necessary for both her bombs as a precaution, and a mutagen for Constitution, another precaution. She'll keep all of these in her multi-pouch. As such, she needs five vials, which weigh half a pound, and four ounces of liquid, which weigh about half a pound. I've also deducted 5gp from her belt pouch, as I should have purchased more glass vials last time I was shopping to account for her alchemist abilities.

Now, I notice that I have the overcloak that was part of her original outfit (replaced by the Mantle of Spores) in her backpack, which weighs two pounds, so she'll leave that at home.

+5 Glass Vials
+1 Extract of cure light wounds
+2 Alchemist Bomb Catalysts
+1 Mutagen (+Constitution, -Charisma)
-1 Waxed Overcloak

I've updated my file and the alias's to reflect this. Let me know if you have any objections.

Halcyon gives Vincent's hand a slight squeeze and she lets go to take the envelope. She flips the envelope open and reads it, holding it where Vincent can also see it. Her face is dark with anger. She glances where others are staring, the mirror on the wardrobe. She murmurs to Vincent, "Time to fight."

Then she steps forward, head held high, and addresses the crowd in a loud, clear voice. "I offer you a revelation of a plot to harm Roland. I offer a chance to demonstrate your love for Roland. The bidding starts with your courage and raises require your weapons, your magic, and perhaps your life. Enemies approach! Defend yourselves!"

Then she steps away from Augustine and begins spell casting.

Spellcraft, DC 17:
She is casting a 2nd level summoning spell that will take a full round to cast. I'm assuming most of what Halcyon said was just before the mirror begins to distort. So she still has time to start casting.

For Guillaumine:
Yes, all is good!

No one panics until Halcyon states that enemies approach. In an instant, the mood of the warehouse shifts dramatically. Most push one another to exit, a wave of bodies barely managing to press out of the warehouse doors. Perhaps a third of them stay, either in some form of support, disbelief, intrigue, or paralyzing horror.

Vincent produces a knife as Halcyon addresses the warehouse. He poises himself by the oracle, ready to protect her. Mako claws at the stage before pouncing up beside his new master. The dog snarls loudly.

Augustine murmurs to himself (“How drab, how terrible...”), as he begins to cast a spell upon himself, shimmering lightly with a silver light.

Casts mage armor on self.

Verrill rises from his seat, reaching his hands into his robes. Between his long, curled fingers are clear glass vials, each filled with a gray powder. He takes a step to the stairs, by Guillaumine.

Evelynn places her helmet over her head. Completely armored, she begins her march to the stage, opposite side of the counter of Seth.

Mirabelle tenses up. Her nails dig into her hand. She breathes in deeply.

Sinclair nods at the rousing speech of Halcyon, raising his glass in toast. He promptly turns on his heels, heading south to the warehouse exit. “Come Katherine, party’s over.” The bookish woman follows after him, procuring a knife as she covers his back.

The Sarenrae priest glides through the crowd, parting those rushing past him. He begins to pray.

Gerard begins to make way to the stage, walking by Marcus. “Tamarin, can we expect a real brawl here?” His smile stretches across his entire face.

Alexander Ravenholm quickly leads those fleeing the scene. He nods to his crimson-plumed guards as he leaves. From each door, a guard enters inside, one remaining at the streets for those who had fled.

A small, saddled chestnut pony enters the warehouse from the North-West exit. Despite its size, it lets out a majestic neigh.

An older, elven man passes through the reflective veil, thin and tall, stumbling onto the stage. His black hair is frayed, hanging over his gaunt face, draping against the floor. Sharp, pale ears pierce through his dark strands. He falls in front of Halcyon, flailing wildly, drawing arcs of blood upon the stage as he flings his arms about. Cuts line all over his arms, across his face, carving into his mouth and eyes.

As he kicks about on the floor, his arm finds the mirror’s surface. He braces himself against it, rising slowly, one hand over his stomach. He breathes loud uneven breathes, with eyes wide in fear as he looks to the remaining crowd. Pale frail hands peek out from simple garbs of blood-stained wool, each nail on each hand stretches long, almost an inch past their finger.

He turns to the mirror he leans against and lurches forwards, almost falling once more, though catches himself on the podium. He heaves, though nothing comes out. After several breaths, he turns, now noticing the host, bodyguard and oracle nearby. He falls, and in a panic, rushes crawls backwards across the stage, an arm still gripping at his abdomen.

His mouth opens, and after several failed attempts to speak, manages to let out a pained, single shout: “A-AWAY!

I did a Knowledge role for Luc back when he was mentioned in the Durendale Daily. I used Knowledge Local at the time, but the result on the die was 1, so switching it to Knowledge Nature still only yields a result of 8.

Gill moves up onto the stage, pushing past Halcyon and Vince (assuming they both allow it). "Excusez-moi, doctor coming through."

GM Only:
Gill takes a double move on her turn, moving 40 feet from...oh, you labeled the map. Ok, uh, from E15 to B9. Her path is as follows:

C15: 25 remaining
B14: 20 remaining (first diagonal)
B13: 15 remaining
B12: 10 remaining
B10: 5 remaining
B9: 0 remaining

I moved Augustine just slightly on the board, as he was somewhat straddling B8 and B9, but seemed to be more in B8 than B9. I hope that's alright.

And, naturally, this move is reliant on both Halcyon and Vincent allowing Gill to pass through their squares. If either does not allow it, I will instead end my movement in C10, which I can reach without moving through either of their squares. Feel free to move me on the map if this winds up being the case.

I'm also not sure what the Initiative order is, so it's possible my move is interrupted by something, but I figured I'd get it out there now, lest I forget that I haven't posted yet.

If some kind of climbing or acrobatics roll is needed to climb up onto the stage, see below. I'm assuming the stage is typical and only about 3-4 feet high.

Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
She will spend an inspiration point to improve this:
Inspiration bonus: 1d6 ⇒ 2

So her final result is a 17. This would allow her to jump 3 feet up. If the stage is higher than that, she'll intentionally land prone and just cast her spell from the prone position and reach into Luc's square to deliver the healing. She is not concerned at how undignified this is.

Please act as if you are in combat for the length of your actions. Right now I will be very loose with the six-second for talking, I just don’t want someone to over prepare with potions, spells, et cetera. The map has been labelled with a grid, when moving (or requesting to be moved) please state the start and end square (I’ll check if its valid, no need for square-to-square movement Gill ;) ).

Luc scampers back as Halcyon approaches “Away! G-Get away!” He doesn't seem to react to his title. He backs up into the clockwork servant, an item to be auctioned. His expression turns terrified when he twists back to look at the construct, and his new-found horror has him recoil into Halcyon’s hand, into her spell.

Thick gashes alongside his arms and legs begin to close, as if several weeks worth of rest passed in mere moments. His wounds are gone, mere scratches remain. Luc calms slightly. He is still, though continues to breathe heavily. The elf looks starved and panicked, and grips his stomach as if the arm around it was all that held him together.

His eyes frantically look around as he speaks up. “G-Get away! She’s watching! He is coming! They- They-” His other arm wraps around his abdomen, tightly hugging the cloth. The elf’s teeth are clenched in apparent pain.

To Halcyon, DC 20 Heal to those on stage or very close:
Halcyon’s cure spell should have nullified most of the man’s pains from his wounds. Whatever afflicts him still seems beyond the effect of such spells. A poison may be passing through his veins, he may have some sickness, it could all be mental. He only seems to experience the pain in his stomach though.

Mako barks, and continues to do so after Halcyon’s summoned wolf appears. The dog points itself to Luc, rigid as it growls at the man, closing the distance between Halcyon and himself.

Vincent approaches the now-still mirror, positioning himself to the side of it. He appears ready to drive his blade through the throat of any who enter next.

Augustine allows Guillaumine passage, retreating towards the western staircase.

A few of the Ravenhall’s mercenaries draw nearer, one even reaching the stage. Most all guests drift closer or further from the scene, split between inspiration from Halcyon's speech, and a fear for their own lives.

Rosalie and Silas appear oblivious to the scene, chowing down at their food at the counter. Mirabelle, an Elven man, and an Oread remain stationary watching the event unfold.

Good Fortune Hero, Commandant Gaston Robert | Know Local

The Halfing officer stares at the stage, almost in disbelief as Seth adresses him. His hair is medium length and brown, pushed back with gel. It almost makes him look like the wind is blowing against him. “Huh. That who that is?” The halfling sharply whistles. The newly-arrived pony approaches him, a beautiful creature already armored for the officer.

The halfling smiles as he mounts the creature. “Have my thanks, sonny.” He nods to Seth, though turns his attention back to his pony. “Lookin’ like a good day, ain’t it, Fortune?

We, we should, um, leave, right? Halcyon, and the, um, doctor have this taken care of. We should maybe look after ourselves, the seer said something approaches.” Beatrice stand close to Marcus, both of her hands grip her knife now. "Em will kill you if I die, charming."

Seth returns the nod to Gaston, and turns back to the stage to see Luc continuing to shake. Seth passes by the alchemist, and he heads up the stairs to try to block anyone else from getting up the stage. His hand stays on his blade, letting Halcyon and Gill help the scared and frightened elf.

The previous post was in the process of being edited, but I missed the 1 hour deadline. I discovered the spoiler for the heal check that I had over looked. Please ignore the previous post and process this one. Sorry for the confusion.

"Easy, Mako," Halcyon says as she kneels by the stricken druid. "He seems to have been poisoned or perhaps some disease," she says to Gil. "I can check for poison," she adds and makes a hand motion like a striking snake while saying, "Leig Puinnsean". Then she stares intently at Luc.

If poisoned:
Wisdom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Once finished with her analysis, she calls out "Luc was kidnapped on New Year's Eve by a cabal with an agenda using mirrors as a way of transfer. The mirrors can be entered but you will come out somewhere else in the city and goddess knows who will be waiting!"

To Marcus:
The mirror does not emanate a magical aura. You’ve seen this before. It seems that there is not an aura when used as an exit, only as an entrance. The effect seems to be one-way.

Luc seems to possess no bloodlines, domains, hexes, schools, or mysteries. You know him to be a druid, which means that he has an animal companion rather than a domain of nature.

To Halcyon:
Luc has already been poisoned prior to his entrance. You are unable to divine the exact afflictions within him, or how many poisons may be coursing through his veins.

The Spymaster begins to panic as the doctor approaches once more. He turns to his knees, and crawls across the stage slowly. “C-Can’t, Can’t escape! Run! Run! B-before, before they arrive, run!” It takes only a moment for the doctor to reach the weakened elf. He twists onto his back violently, extending his arm towards her as the other caresses his abdomen. Luc’s face twists into a snarl, eyes shining a brilliant emerald green. His voice is filled with clarity now.

Afíste tin na sapísoun - Maraínontai!” He closes his spread-out fingers into a fist as he stares at the doctor.

Druidic. No one knows it, but feel free to open:
Let her rot away - Wither!

Spellcraft DC 23:
The Spymaster is casting Finger of Death at the doctor. Casting this spell is against the law, as is preparing the spell. It is one of the most powerful known spells banned following the Crater incident a year prior, and the most powerful Necromancy spell the world has known.

His eyes cease to glow. Whatever spell he attempted to cast appears to have failed. His arm falls slowly to the ground, defeated at his failure. He is still now, head lowering to the boards of the stage. “P-Please. Run...” he whimpers. "Please..."

The pony, Fortune, jumps onto stage, stopping by the podium. Gaston twists off his mount, rolling onto the wooden boards. He plants his feet, stopping his movement. Hearing Halcyon, the Halfling swivels, aiming his pistol to the mirror. "Well, won't be expectin' a bit of black powder now, will they?"

Raphael Montefiore sidles to the stage, procuring a crossbow, readying it. The Sarenrae priest moves behind him, giving the lawyer a whisper of encouragement that the Gods have their side.

Reyes moves towards Halcyon's feet. He appears to want to assist on the stage, though stares at an oblivious Augustine. Perhaps he awaits permission?

Gerard rushes to the mirror, standing behind Vincent with his fists held high. While the bodyguard appears cautious and reserved, the youngest Vieuxpont seems to be hardly able to contain himself, changing his stance by bouncing back and forth, giddy with excitement.

The Ravenhall guards close in, spears now ready for any future invaders.

Almost all of those fleeing the warehouse have now left, only those spectating or active in the scene remain.

Mako continues to frantically bark at the Spymaster. The dog approaches closer to the elf, ignoring the nearby doctor.

To Guillaumine:
Luc Gardinier attempted to kill you. Such a spell as no other use. Lucky for you, his spell failed to manifest. Countless reasons for this flood your mind. Perhaps his pain is more intense than you thought? Is there a spell upon the man that is nullifying his abilities? Halcyon mentioned a poison or disease, perhaps that stopped the spell from acting as it should have? Whatever affects him saved your life, that much is certain.

You try to assess what poison could be affecting him, startig with those that might affect his ability to cast spells. He does not display the symptoms of Gray Justice, or Bloodpyre, quickly you rule those poisons out.

He may have been forced to ingest Striped Toadstool, a poisonous mushroom claimed to be found in the sewers of Roland and nearby caves of Roland. He may be recovering from a recent dosage of Nightmare Vapor or Insanity Mist, perhaps their lingering affects the reason for his strange behaviors. Bloodroot may have also been used, though as an injury based poison, evidence of its use has nearly vanished with the sealing of his wounds by the oracle's healing spell. You'd need time and blood to determine if he was affected my such a poison.

Many a drug could lower ones force of will, though in the hectic heat of the moment, none come to mind that could be affecting the elf.

Halcyon recoiled from Luc's spellcasting, a horrified look on her face. "He has been poisoned. I fear he has also been possessed and may be dangerous. Restrain him if you can."

Halcyon retreats back toward the mirror, drawing a potion from a pouch on her belt. She drinks the potion.

Potion:
The potion is Speak with Animal.

She then says something unintelligible to the wolf.

Animal tongue:
"Go into the mirror and attack anyone who tries to come through from the other side." If this works, then post the results or let me know and I'll describe it. If it can act this round, it should move into the mirror. Then it will have one more round before the duration runs out.

Seth finishes his ascent of the stairs, stopping a little bit behind Luc. He watches as Luc's spell fails, unaware of whatever was cast. Seth looks towards Gill and then does a slight nod in the direction of the Spymaster whilst making a sort of grabbing gesture. He doesn't make any moves towards Luc, waiting for what Gill wants him to do.

Behind the Screen:
Mirabelle’s lowest possible roll passes Gill’s SM. WHy are you here, these are for me only >:(
Roll: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27

To Guillaumine:
Mirabelle has been still since the mirror's surface first rippled. She has had a face full of worry since the elf exited the mirror. She did not seem to react to Luc’s attempted spell. Of those that don’t seem to want to intervene and endanger themselves, she is the closest to the scene, perhaps only the blanketed alchemist woman is closer.

Mirabelle’s dress flows, undulating like a jelly-fish in the waters. Her wind seems to be more than a breeze at the moment, and you think you can feel it from where you are standing.

The celestial wolf nods to its master. It nears the wardrobe’s mirrors doors, and scratches the surface with a raised paw. It does not pass through. It scratches at the surface, clawing into the mirror. It appears as if the wolf cannot pass through. It barks back with a quick yip to Halcyon.

To Halcyon, Animal-Speak:
Can’t.

Everlight Preacher, Jean-Christophe Charpentier | Know Religion

A moment, my child” The priest rises to the stage with some difficulty. The man is older than most of the crowd, and his draping ropes don’t give him much of an ability to climb the stage. He appears almost flustered from his quick hustle to the doctor. “Speak, I shall -” his panting is interrupted by a series of coughs. “- I shall Help in any way She permits me.

The spymaster doesn’t seem to notice the mercenary moving behind him. Lying down on his back, he stares up at the ceiling of the warehouse. He tightens his grip over his stomach, nearly tearing at the cloth. When he rambles, it sounds as though he ignores the question of the doctor. “Nature abandoned me. It betrays me now.” He shakes his head, sounding somber. “Did you not think I’d recall your presence? Did you truly believe I forgot my vows?

Augustine slinks off the stage as the guards press onto it. Two of them create a formation together, prepared for any future invaders while Evelynn steps past them, clanking loudly in her armor.

Verrill moves closer to the stage, standing with several small vials in his hand. Augustine makes his way through the chairs, clumsily kicking through them as he walked towards the Tizonian boy.

Most seem comfortable in their positions, opting to wait for what may happen next. Besides the clanking of armor, Gerard's hops causing the wooden stage planks to creak and a few stage-side conversations, all is quite inside the warehouse.

Gill regards Jean-Christophe first. "Monseigneur, the spymaster has been poisoned, I suspect by more than one kind. His mind is clouded, but he also experiences pain beyond what basic magic can solve. If you have a spell that can neutralize the poisons, or one that can alleviate the symptoms, use it. Otherwise, lend me a hand; I'm going to try and treat the poison." Her head turns, her gaze falling on Seth. "Don't just stand there. Take this," she holds out the smoked vial of brown liquid. "I only have so many hands. Help the spymaster drink this while I get my tools ready. It should impede the poison a bit." Assuming Seth accepts the vial, Gill reaches into her backpack and produces a small leather satchel. She begins removing little vials, some containing powders, others containing liquids.

GM Only:
Gill uses a swift action to pass the vial of antitoxin to Seth, a move action to retrieve her antidote kit from her backpack, and a standard action to use the treat poison action on the spymaster.

Halcyon touches the mirror to see if it is open to movement through. Her summoned wolf steps back and then vanishes.

After the events at Emile's party on New Year's eve, some of us found a large mirror in an alley. Long story short, we encountered a group of ne'er-do-wells using the mirror as a way of moving around the city. They were armed. Some of us went into the mirror after them. The Spymaster disappeared the same night and likely was kidnapped by this group. We can wait for something to come out or go in after whatever poisoned our spymaster.

She looks ready to go in, but does not want to be the first. While waiting for others to move, she casts guidance and bestows it on Gaston, if he'll accept it.

It takes minimal effort for Seth to trickle the potion into the man’s mouth. Dropping down on his knees and grabbing the man’s head, the only difficulty lies in waiting for the pauses in his babbling. “The Green no longer listens.” a bit of the potion pours down the elf’s mouth during lull. “No, It listens, but it answers with silence.” Seth gets the last of the vial’s contents into the elf’s mouth.
