Fernus Stonecall
Fernus sighs and taps Bear or Aéron on the shoulder, "If we move silently I might have a way of dealing with them. I don't like it but it has to be done. I only need someone to guard me if it fails to deal with them all."
Assuming that one of them accompanies Fernus.
Fernus walks down silently, the only sound to be heard from him is a gulp.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
When he comes in front of the sleeping group he takes a slow breath and takes out a torch-like object from his pack. His hands tremble as he knows what he is about to do. He looks around the room and identifies the centre of the group of sleeping goblins.
He points the torch at the place he wants and mumbles softly. "Burn for me. Die in the blaze."
Fireball to catch most of the goblins.
Fireball damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 5, 4) = 23 Ref Save DC 13 at least, not sure what I add to this as it is the item. DC 17 because I use it?
With the fireball coming out and scorching the goblins, Fernus stands dumbstruck for one second, then the pain and anguish of being burned himself returns and he runs back to the others crying. He shakes fervently while he clamps on Aéron's arm and sobs while perhaps the goblins come after them.
Bref
teeheeteeheeheehee. Oops! Not pay close attention. Teeheeteeheeheehee Comes the voice yet again.
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil shakes his head at Fernus, "That was very brave, Fernus... But you should have let me do it. I'm much sneakier..."
His comforting voice takes on an edge as he adds, "...and I would have enjoyed it."
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil says, "Let's look for any remaining goodies. Just in case we need them against the crazy throne guy."
MiniGM
Bear you can say you cast just before you go down the other hall.
Tarin parades on down the fire blasted room and sees what he can see.
Tarin is immediately filled with rage and horror. As far as loot goes, there is nothing much of value in the room. Odds and ends worth about 10 gold.
and cue a rage filled gnome...
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil cuts the ropes, then returns, the rage of his face causing his mutated features to twist, as if he has some sort of tic, revealing his sharpened teeth. "These goblins need to die."
I can't tell Fernus why, he's already shaken up...
He snarls again, "There's the corpses of some halflings in gnomes in there. I guess that's how these monsters get their kicks."
He looks up at the rest of them, "I have two bombs left, and at this point, I'm thinking I'll make their leader swallow one... and we can all figure out where I want to put the other one."
Aéron Skáh
I follow Fernus into the room and stop just out of reach of the blast, when the fireball erupts and Fernus is hit I move towards him and take him into the corridor. "That looked painful, hold still 'n' I'll try ta stop the spread of pain." As Fernus is clamped onto my arm I use another charge of the wand on him, hoping to healing him as much as possible.
Cure Light Wounds (Via Wand) : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Realising the stick seems to be losing it's potency and magical power I keep Fernus behind me, "Stay behind me 'n' I'll keep ya from getting hurt anymore."
Bear aka Orlog
If we are not going to the throne room I would have waited for my spells.
Actually going Resist Enrgy (Fire-Scroll),Barkskin, BullsSTR, Guidance, enchant the bite with my amulet, then grow claws (Totem minute).
Valeria Vanessa Valdemar
"We can't delay, we need to get to him as quickly as possible so that he doesn't have more time to prepare...unless we have plenty of spells left to burn, which I don't believe to be the case. I believe it is time to end this vicious beasts's reign of evil."
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil snarls, "Past time. No delays. Dies now."
Aéron Skáh
I look to Tarin and nod, "They gonna die now, before they can hurt Shalelu!" Noticing Fernus is still holding onto me tightly I offer my hand to hold if he needs to as we progress towards the vile villains.
Picturing a father and son walking down the street now :P
Fernus Stonecall
Aww thanks Mini ^^
Fernus sniffs and sobs a little more, but tries to steel himself as the others move out. He taps and declines Aéron's hand and walks next to him towards wherever the group decides to go.
"Let's just finish this nightmare we're in. We should get everyone out of this hellhole."
Tarinhilliberanavius
Get the Wizard first -- otherwise he'll join in when we're trying to kill Bref. Unless you think we can lock the door behind us?
Tarinhilliberanavius
Oh, right! Well, heck, let's go get him. If he's not a trap, he might be able to buff us, and Desna knows we can all use it...
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil suggests, "Since the signs have been accurate, there's one over that way that shows someone chained down. Could be Shalelu, or the Wizard -- either way, someone to help us exterminate the goblin's leader, I think."
MiniGM
As you move through the room with the sleepers you realize that the goblins were not just keeping halflings and gnomes bodies in the room, they were captives disguised to look like goblins and your fireball killed them
Ok you move through the room and come into a hallway, down a half that branches again, with a sign that shows a human melting in acid, they move on to a door with a very serious lock on it.
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil stops and takes time to carefully examine the lock, looking for traps.
Perception (Take 20): 20 + 8 = 28
Assuming he doesn't find any, he'll then pull out his picks and work on the lock.
Disable: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Tarinhilliberanavius
Well, I would have done the trap before the lock for sure.
Tarinhil quickly scans the door for a second trap, just in case, before working on the lock.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Disable (Lock): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Fernus Stonecall
Perception Scorched Room: 1d20 ⇒ 9 It's good that Fernus is as blind as a bat sometimes. He would have had nightmares for the rest of his life.
Fernus stands back as Tarin handles the lock and tries not to look too much at the scorched bodies of the goblins, he knows it's an ugly sight to see.
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil sighs and says, "Cursed thing must be enchanted. I can keep trying, but someone's on the other side's bound to hear me playing with the lock. I'm thinking this might be the better approach", and reaches into his pack and produces a flask of acid, which he carefully squeezes into the door to dissolve or, at least, weaken the hinges and lock.
Tarinhilliberanavius
I know there's retry for free (heck, I could have taken 20, assuming there were no other traps) -- but I figured the time and noise was bad. Updated the sheet to remove 3 flasks.
Tarinhil examines the door mechanism and then tries to pop it open.
Tarinhilliberanavius
Oh, right. I forgot about that. (Also, I should make a mental note to try to remove and keep traps that are snazzy in the future..)
Tarinhil looks into the room, scanning for the coming trap or ambush that seems to greet them everywhere they go in these warrens.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Valeria Vanessa Valdemar
If the man appears to be conscious, she will call out..."How badly trapped is this room?"
Tarinhilliberanavius
Tarinhil says, "I'm no illusion, just a mutated goblin-hating gnome. We did get your message... but we've had a rough day and a half, and I think we were all bracing ourselves for the inevitable trick when you turn out to be another goblin trap trying to kill us."
He eyes the man, his bulging red eyes carefully examining him before sighing, "We do. But I can't help but feel a bit skeptical.... In your position, I'd want to help kill the goblins either way.
Fernus Stonecall
"Illusions wouldn't care to open the door and dismantle a trap now would they?"
Fernus says from behind Tarinhil.
He searches his pack for the miniature griffin and holds it up for the man to see.
"This what you were referring to right? Tevar if I'm not mistaken?"
