Karl Sarvo |

Karl remained silent and listened to the people he fought with in the last battle confer among themselves and slowly come to an agreement that they should all go to the sheriff Yes, lets all go and leave a necromancer to do as he pleases in the graveyard of an entire town, not to mention if they all follow me I won't be able to barter for the information we got from the goblin He turns his head slightly to Loupe's direction He's shouldn't disagree to the trade of information, he's a merchant he'll understand, but the rest of them He begins turning his head until to the rest of the group were in his sights They'll jump over each other as they try to tell the sheriff what the goblin blurted out Karl walks past Loupe and stops as soon as he was but a few footsteps away from the group.
"HOLD IT" Shouts the mercenary, wondering if that was enough to get the attention of the group "Its a good idea to inform the sheriff of the information we got from the goblin, that way we can get the guards to leave their little hideaways and finally do what they were hired to do" Said Karl, addressing the group in a confident voice, that carried an almost unnoticeable hint of anger Instead of harassing people, who are trying to get information or work He continued mentally "But this great idea, turns sour if we all go to the sheriff, why you ask?" He asked rhetorically "No reason really...I mean what could be so bad about a man leading a pack of goblins into a graveyard? And if this man turns out to be a necromancer, we should not really disturb him" the mocking tone in his voice was as clear as the fangs of a pouncing snake.
"I mean what kind of damage could a necromancer in a town graveyard do? Why he'll be no more of a threat than this dead goblin right here" He continued the sarcasm of his words still going strong "but don't take may word for it, I am not an expert on the arcane" He paused then turned his head to face Loupe, as his eyes kept locked on to the wizard he shortened the distance between himself and the group "But he is" Karl motioned with his hand towards the wizard, it almost felt like he was presenting a mythical creature of some sort "He not only knows about necromancers more than we do, he lived in a town where necromancy is legal, not only that, he's actually killed one!" Spoke the mercenary as he looked to the armorer once more "Tell them Loupe, tell them what a necromancer with access to a town's graveyard can do" His voice still confident and unshaken Come on Loupe tell them, tell them its a big catastrophe, tell them that they must rush to the town's rescue! Tell them anything that will get them to go there! Tell them! TELL THEM! Karl finally stood silent and awaited Loupe's response, his mental screams unheard by the audience in front of him.

Can we get a perform role for our orator, or at least an emmy? :D
"Then perhaps we should stop dawdling and go!" Then, turning to the halfling, "It's down that road two blocks, then take a left, correct?" he asks, trying to remember when he saw it from his travels before the festival. Once Zander gets the answer, or correct directions, he takes off at a jog to the Sheriff's office.

Loupe Ardoc |

Loupe blanches as he is loudly accused of the murder
"What? That was self-defence. And an accident. Accidental self-defence. I mean, who doesn't prepare Feather's Fall?"
Wait, calm down, these people seem to think killing a necromancer is okay, murder or not...
He pauses for a second and starts speaking while he desperately racks his brain
knowledge:spellcraft to know about undead: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
"Well - I'm not sure. I never studied necromancy." We had that agreement with the necromancers "I guess he could raise some undead? Probably servitor class." we always said they were pretty inferior to golems "They're pretty easy to put down. I guess they could be a problem if there aren't enough priests. Most graveyards are warded against reanimation though..."
knowledge:arcana to know about golems: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
What would I attack a graveyard for... oh. Oh.... Oh no....
"...On the other hand if it's actually a golemcrafter and not a necromancer, someone experimenting with Golems of Flesh, or Bone, or Carrion... well that could be real bad! Those things are magic proof beserking juggernauts of death! It could probably wipe out the town! And warding a graveyard isn't going to do anything!"
"If this is a golemcrafter, and not just a necromancer, we have to stop him from getting away with the bodies!"
Sorry Karl, no real fear of undead, coupled with living with high level wizards. The scariest monster is the one immune to spells.

Vishoon |

Or maybe Some long Dead Human, plundered some tomb, and took it with him, and goblins make a great diversion while some evil scum goes finds it. You can go talk to sheriff if you like, I'm going to head to the graveyard and try and put him down before he gets away, and if some sap gets ruffled because I step on theirs great Grandma grave, HA HA HA, they'll get over it, I'll do my best not to break anything there. Lets go halfling, to the graveyard. And follows Dairkal to the graveyard.
I'll try and not do too much damage at least...

Karl Sarvo |

The urge to cover his forehead grew strong as Loupe continued speaking about the supposed lack of danger necromancer's posed, his annoyance had already grown thanks to Zander's insistence to go to the sheriff's office; he knew that with Zander there he would have no chance of bartering for information, it was only when Loupe got to explaining the dangers of a golemcrafter assaulting the town graveyard that he started to get interested in the conversation once more I'll wait and see what they decide, if anyone but Loupe still wants to go the sheriff's office, I'll head to the graveyard with the rest Karl made his way past his companions and to the barrel he was sitting on Might as well continue with this hero of the people charade, it will probably give me an advantage when its time to negotiate for a job or two in this town Karl turns to look at his one battle companions, bracing his patience for what could be a long discussion.

GM BigBusMan |

As the group Prepares to leave the square and head off towards the Sheriffs office and the Cemetery, they hear the sounds of several rushing footsteps and turn to see Sheriff Hemlock and several of the towns guards enter the square, Hemlock giving orders to the men to search for survivors and capture any Goblins Left alive..you can see that he already has a couple of the little green vermin tied up behind his horse..As he catches sight of the group he looks around and sees the dead goblins and realizes that there has been one hell of a battle fought in this square today..he rides over to you and starts to talk:
"Who are you?..and what are you doing out here?..Better yet, Where are the guards that are suppose to be watching this square?..I can tell from the dead Goblins that they must have had their hands full..yet I see no sign of them dead or otherwise, Regardless..We sent the word out almost a half hour ago that every citizen is to return home immediately and Stay there until morning, we will be going house to house tonight doing a check, and accounting for all the dead, anyone caught outside without my approval will be immediately taken to the jail and kept on suspicion of conspiracy so unless you have a damn good reason for still being out here..GO HOME NOW!!.."
The sheriff still looks around at the dead Goblins..then looks at the group with a very stern look, it might even be suspicion that you see in his eyes..

![]() |

"Sheriff, we have not seen your guards, and we dealt with the Goblins we've found. One of them made mention of something happening at the graveyard before he expired. We request your permission to check before returning to an inn. You can say you commissioned adventurer help to prevent anything from happening to your already stretched thin guardstaff. You would be seen to care about those in your employ, and to use your available resources effectively..." says Zander, hefting his gore covered glaive over his shoulder.

"Lad, do we look like citizens of your fine town? Aside from yon halfling that is. Now let us try this with a little more civility. I am Sten Bouldershoulder and most of these dead goblins are due to this motely group of adventurers. Now we have reason to believe this was a distraction for a raid on your graveyard if that can be believed. Now would you like us to investigate this information or would you rather we leave the necromantic combat to you."Sten states at the sheriff expectantly.

Karl Sarvo |

Karl had planned to conduct himself in a professional manner when he met the sheriff, he had planned to present himself as not only a capable warrior, but also one who is knowledgeable of the many tricks of the trade of a guardsman, he had planned to use the information he had acquired in a business like manner to acquire information that he needed, but he was not naive; he knew that plans were sometimes dashed to pieces, that is why more than one plan was usually made, he knew that he would gain nothing by following his original plan, the people by his side have already surrendered the information they got from the goblin, and he would have to swallow the pill of anxiety and act polite towards this ignorant, boastful loudmouth.
The big question here was why should he do that? Especially when Sheriff Hemlock was treating him like a criminal for defending a town he had no business defending anyway, sure Karl was doing it for his own selfish reasons but that did not mean he appreciated being treated like a criminal when he has yet to take part in any punishable act, but had it been only that he would have simply ignored him and did what he pleased regardless of the orders he was given, but the sheriff made it personal Your guards? The useless cowards, who ran from 3 foot tall raiders with shoddy weapons? The hypocritical cowards who always run when its time for the real work? Here or in Korvosa, they are all the bloody same Again the question came why should he bother with any sort of courtesy with this man? No, why should he not lash out when he made this personal and keeping quiet would gain him nothing except a boiling pot of anger and contempt Its because of people like this that he's out there loose and free, after stabbing you to death in a dirty alley Still, showing the mask of anger so clearly could be seen as a threat or the promise of a future attack, that would mean jail time and that he could not afford.
Karl sat on the barrel, his face to the floor, its upper part masked in shadow. It all started with a small wicked grin, which grew to a poorly hidden chuckle, and finally the chuckle evolved into a full blown storm of laughter that was bonded with the spikes of mockery and the barbs of hatred "Are you bloody serious? Your guards? Your guards??" Another fit of laughter possessed him as he raised his head to meet the sheriff's eyes "The craven were never here to begin with, it was every man for himself, well it would have been if we did not do your job for you" The mercenary felt the roots of annoyance crumble and the smoke of anger dissipate with every word he assaulted the man on the horse with.
"I've never seen such a sorry bunch of guards in my life, even the hypocrites in Korvosa had more guts than the people your leading" Then his eyes shifted to the goblins tied behind the sheriff's horse "scared of these child sized raiders" His laugh echoed through the area once more and then he suddenly stopped, got up from the wooden barrel and looked the sheriff straight in the eyes.
"Still its always nice to laugh after a battle so let me thank you with a tip and yes you should feel special, I don't give advice freely" He paused, his smile showing his whole set of teeth "Let us go about your business, cause your clearly under qualified" The venom of mockery seeped from the brown haired man's tongue, and his eyes showed nothing but defiance and poorly hidden discontent.

GM BigBusMan |

The Sheriff Rides up next to Zander and looks down from atop his Horse.
"You took care of all these goblins yourselves did you now.. that is quite a feat..I commend you for your Bravery..and I will be quite willing to give you a reward...However, At this time I would like all of you to please make your way back to the Rusty dragon if that is where you are staying, and I will make my way over to you this evening for proper introductions, as for you master Dwarf, I mean no disrespect, but civility is for calmer times, It is my Duty to protect Sandpoint and its citizens..and even Visitors..and yes even including the ones who have proven quite able to take care of themselves..So you will have to excuse my lack of diplomacy and understand that I need orders followed and I need them followed now!..But Rest assured my good sir, that we have already done a cursory check of the Graveyard and it is without a doubt quite DEAD!!.."
The Sheriff Chuckles at this last statement..
" It was the first place we went after questioning this vile green rodent here as to what in the bloody blazes was going on...Now, What I really need right now is For you Lot to Head Back to the Dragon and wait for me there, and if you see any of my men along the way, tell them they need to report in at once!!..I Now Bid you Good Day!"
With that the sheriff turns his mount and barks some orders at his men and rides off..

Vishoon |

Being New in town and all, I'm pretty sure that the Graveyard is on the way to this Rusty Dragon. Pretty sure at least. Besides he didn't say we couldn't take the scenic Route to the Rusty Dragon, and the graveyard I'm posative is on the scenic tour. says Vishoon is a totally sarcastic tone

![]() |

"I certainly didn't memorize Know Direction today, and I think our Halfling friend was struck on the head, and seems to be getting all turned around in his directions." responses Zander, clearly agreeing with Vishoon's plan.

Loupe Ardoc |

Loupe's mouth gapes as Karl verbally lays into the Sherrif. He imagines what his uncles might do to anyone who spoke them to such a way and cringes.
But I'm not walking back to the dragon by myself on a night like this!
Something in the Sherrif's words catches his attention
Conspiracy? He suspects conspirators, then?

GM BigBusMan |

[i] Just As Sheriff Hemlock turned the corner and shrank out of sight 4 men in Sandpoint guard uniforms emerged from behind one of the stalls where they had been hiding, One of them being the guard that had questioned Karl earlier..the four men surrounded Karl..Karl notices that each one is armed with a longsword..the Guard steps up to gets in his face and says:
"Look here creep, we don't like your kind around here..the Sheriff has a good enough sense to ignore your mouth and go about his business...but us..now were a different story..we may be cowards when it comes to fighting off throngs of goblins..but we ain't afraid of you one bit..no sir..and we know a liar and scumbag when we see one, and we don't like them around here..especially ones with a mouth..so If I were you, Id keep that trap of your shut..and do what the good sheriff says..or we might just find "one more unfortunate victim"..do you catch my drift sir.."
with the last sentence the guard pokes Karl square in the chest.. and waits to see if he retaliates..

Vishoon |

Seeing the guards move to Karl, and then hearing the man speak
You! Pointing at the man who was speaking.. were supposed to be protecting people here! What kind of craven coward are you! This man was out there fighting these goblin scum, without being paid!
The anger building is quite evident in his eyes and his fangs showing more. Where were you? while defenseless innocents were being slaughtered, the same innocents you are being paid to protect... If I were you I'd leave town NOW, and have them think the goblins dragged you away, OR you can stay and we can drag your mangled bodies to sheriff and explain your cowardice...tho if you resist...it probably be more fun just killing you.

Karl!
The expected repercussions for Karl's mouthing off was manifesting. The sheriff might have looked the other way, but these men were not. If he didn't act fast Karl was likely to cop a beating, or worse.
Fancy calling a nice guy like Karl a scumbag.
With a mere thought the energy stored in Loupe's "tattoo" manifested.
Four glowing balls of fire appear in his hand, and streak towards the guards - stopping dead a foot away and then extinguishing as Loupe snaps his fingers.
"Or maybe those four missing guards were found tragically burned to death by goblins?" Loupe asks archly
"Seems to me the sherrif thinks there's conspirators. And you do seem very keen on stopping Karl from investigating the graveyard the goblins tipped us off on...

"Gentlemen please, calm down!" pleads Zander, waving his free hand between the two groups. "We're all a bit on edge because of the attack. Attacking each other would be foolish and do the Goblins work for them. Karl here doesn't seem to have a filter between his brain and his mouth, but that's no reason to draw steel on him. I'd also like to point out that you hid from the Goblin's, and Karl helped kill the Goblins, which by simple logic would mean that you have very little chance in winning. Please, apologize, turn around and leave, and we may not tell your sheriff you hid while your town was slaughtered."
Turn his back on the boisterous guard, he leans in and whispers to Karl.

GM BigBusMan |

The leader of the guards turns and looks at Vishoon..the nods at the other three guards..
"Well..well..what have we here..a mouthy half Breed..if there's one thing we hates more than a mouthy Human its a filthy Mouthy half breed.."
Three guards pull whistles from there pouches and the forth stares at Vishoon...
"Now look here Half Breed..We are well respected in this town..and you are no body..in fact your very suspicious no bodies...and all we have to do is blow these here whistles and we will have 20 more guards down here in less than a minute..and who do you suppose they will believe when we tell them that we caught you aiding these goblins here?..Hmmm..We'll have your necks in a noose by daybreak..if not sooner..so id think twice before threatening the lives of the law men around here...so id suggest you do as the good sheriff told you and get on back to your lodging.."
The guards are getting nervous..and thier leader seems to be growing more impatient..you see that he is tightening his grip on his sword..

"Now see here lads, this man had enough stones to throw himself into harms way for people he didn't even know. He deserves your thanks, without him this may have been a burnt ruin instead of a town." Sten moves to interpose himself between the party and the guards."And you, orc. I may be thankful you were here to help with the problem at hand, but I will not stand by and let you harm innocent members of this community no matter how stupid they may be." Sten glares at Loupe so he knows this is directed at him too before turning to look at the guard again."Though I am more than willing to slap you boys in irons and let you stew in a cell for a few days to think about your behavior."
Dang it, every time I previewed to make sure I liked the post another person would post something. Finally just hit submit and our gm posts something else.

Vishoon |

These are not innocent members of this town, their cowardice of or plain out right aide they gave the goblins by standing by and doing nothing caused the death of innocents. They are paid to protect these people where I am from it is an honor to protect the people of your village, these thugs are no better than common rats and we eat rats where I am from. This man pointing to Karl bled to save people he didn't know and they treat him this way? The blood on the street of these towns folk are as much their blame as it is the goblins.
your name isn't Tevok Berksley by chance? Seeing the same characteristics as them man he is looking for in these guards

GM BigBusMan |

One of the subordinate soldiers speaks up and says:
"You great oaf..shows what you know doesn't it...maybe if you and your friends here would shut your yaps and just do as your told..you might learn a thing or two..yes, we ran behind the Temple here when the chaos started..only to gather our wits and wait for reinforcements..and its damn good thing we did..we..
The Guard in charge slaps the other guard upside the head..
"Silence you stupid ass..we don't know these fools or what they are even doing here..and so far all they have shown us is contempt of the law..and contempt for the Sheriff..for all we know they are part of this whole debacle..and have killed a few goblins to appear as though they are not..I have a good mind to throw them in the Jail until we can figure out who they are.."
with that the Guard turns back to the Group and says:
"This is your final warning..you either chose to follow the law, or you chose to become criminals and suffer the consequences..we will escort you back to your lodgings were you will stay for the evening, or until such time as the Sheriff gives you leave..or we will take you into custody and you will spend the evening in a cell..with the rest of the vermin..your choice.."
at that all the guards draws their swords..3 of them with their whistles still at the ready..

Vishoon |

If they blow those whistles, it will go poorly and my mission will fail. Tomorrow is another day...and who knows maybe they wont follow us and we can stop at the graveyard after all
You are right, waiting for reinforcements was a good choice. We were on our way to this Rusty Dragon when you stopped us. We'll continue there now and you should report in with the Sheriff. He asked us to tell that to any of his men that we found. Sorry for upsetting you. Says Vishoon hoping his apologies take the edge off the situation

Dairkal |

Sorry guys! I was out literally all day, just now catching up on stuff
Dairkal, who should be well known to these guards, listens to them and his companions go back and forth. Finally, he has had enough.
"You four deeply disappointment me, with all this bullying and talk of half-breeds and such. Whatever happened to Sandpoint's vaunted diversity and open-mindedness? You four have no idea what happened here, and just because the Sheriff gave an order you feel you can just push us around?"
He looks each guard in the eyes. "Now look, you men are quite capable, and we are as well. There is apparently something bad happening in the graveyard. Why don't we ALL go and investigate it?? This way, there will be that many more us to deal with it. We've already proven ourselves, so let us all handle this threat to Sandpoint, together!"
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 Diplomacy, using Adaptable Luck to add +2

Karl Sarvo |

Woah! What a turnout, I love it!
One step back, Karl did not notice that he took it until a few seconds passed, he knew well enough that his armor could not take a a direct stab from a long sword at this distance. The mercenary struggled to keep the fear he was feeling from showing, the best he could do was clench his teeth and keep quiet as his companions tried their best to get out of this situation, what he really did not expect though was the words that were used in defending him:
He bled for this town
Throw himself in harm's way for people he doesn't even know
They'd probably help the guards if they knew I was doing it for mysely Thought Karl, but he could not deny that it has been a while since he's heard praise about something he's done.
Zander's words echoed in his ears, as much as he hated to admit it, Zander was right, if he even attempts to kill any of these fools, this would surely be a huge setback to what he's been working for, he had to solve this and still be able to go to the graveyard, Dairkal had a decent idea, but these guys needed one more push, now they may not be afraid of a man they had a sword-point but what about their dear sheriff?
"Our final warning eh? So when you blow these whistles 20 guards will show up? I am assuming that one of them will be the good sheriff of this town, now I wonder what he'll have to say once we tell him about what you were doing while innocents were dying? If your lucky dishonorable discharge, if not well...what is the punishment for treason here?" Karl forces himself to keep his eyes locked on their leader's eyes "Now how about we go with the halfling's suggestion or we can all wait here for the sheriff and tell him about what you all have been up to?" Karl made his offer and readied himself for the worst, it was a gamble sure, but it was all they had at the moment.

The head Guard, sees Dairkal and says:
"Ah. Master Dairkal..may I please have a word with you in private?.."
he and Dairkal walk a little ways away and start to talk.

GM BigBusMan |

While the lead guard is talking to Dairkal, one of the other guards looks back at Karl..
" Sir..I can guarantee you that if the Sheriff has to come back here..it will not be us that are in trouble..as he is well away of what we have been up too..but I'm afraid Sir that it will be you and your companions here that will be under scrutiny..Failure to follow the direct order of the law, Threatening the deputies..Not exactly the actions of law abiding citizens who have Sandpoint's best interests in mind now are they?..
The deputies voice is shaky and he is obviously a little intimidated by the group.

"I wouldn't like to see anymore fighting tonight than what's happened so far. Perhaps we should retire for the night, and we and the guards can go our separate ways, hmm?"

"ENOUGH, by Torag's braided beard. I will not have this devolve into a bloody row because some boys don't understand how the world works. I came here to keep giants from wreaking havoc upon the land, NOT to babysit a bunch of mewling children. Now lad I will explain to you how laws work. ONE. You enforce them through strength and honor, NOT by trying to cow people who just fought for their lives due to the fact your city can't build and man a proper defense." Sten holds up his finger in a gesture as firm and unyielding as the stone that made up the majority of his home. "TWO. You ask politely for the heavily armed people who just helped defend your town as best they could to please be so kind as to head to the Rusty Dragon as you would like everyone to be in a nice defensible position in case of a secondary assault. THREE and this is the most important one lad, trust me on this. You do not forget that most of us are not citizens of your town that you can boss around like scared little sheep. DO YOU HAVE AN ORC STRAIGHT DOWN FROM THE HILLS, A MERCHANT PRINCE FROM ONE OF THE LARGEST HOUSES IN MAGNIMAR, A PRIEST OF THE ETERNAL ROSE, A STONELORD BEHOLDEN TO TORAG AND THE VENGEANCE HE MEETS UPON ALL HIS ENEMIES, AND A WARRIOR WITH MORE STONES IN HIS TROUSERS THAN CIVILITY IN HIS SPEECH AS CITIZENS IN THIS CHAOTIC MESS YOU CALL A TOWN? NO, I THINK EVEN YOU WOULD REMEMBER SUCH PEOPLE." Sten pauses a second to let the brow beating set in. "NOW if you will excuse me, I will be headed to the inn to try and get a good nights rest, even if I will be losing sleep over the sorry state your town currently finds itself in." Sten begins to turn from the proceedings and stomp his way towards where he hopes is the inn.

Zander, impressed with the dwarf's tirade, smiles and falls in line with him, keeping his strides measured to stay abreast of Torag's chosen.

GM BigBusMan |

The Gurads just look at Sten, the lead Guard just shakes his head and showing a huge smile on his face as the Stout dwarf starts to march off in the opposite direction of the Rusty Dragon..
" Ahh..Excuse me Master Dwarf!!...I believe you need to be heading in that direction!!..
With that the Guard points down the street opposite of the one the Dwarf was about to take..he then Busts up with a huge laugh..and looks at his men..
" Alright Men..that's enough for tonight, If these fellows want to go wandering the streets and getting themselves into trouble or Killed..let 'em..the Sheriff can deal with 'em if he catches them..BUT YOU.."
He points at Karl
"This is the second time today I've had a problem with you..and I swear to Asmodeus himself..Next time we have a run in with you..or ..if i so much as think for a split second you are up to no good..I will just cut off your head and be done with it..
With that the guards leave the square and run off after the sheriff..

Karl Sarvo |

He would never bring himself to admit it, but Karl was somewhat impressed by Sten's speech, a smirk drew it self upon his face as he walked away from the guards to follow Sten to the Rusty Dragon, he was also feeling quite pleased despite the fact that the outcome was not entirely to his liking Any battle you can walk away from Karl found himself mentally repeating the old saying he's heard from a sell-sword when he first started out as a mercenary.
Looking back at the guards as he walked away, another thought began stewing in his head, if the guards here were as incompetent as they seemed, there would be plenty of opportunities for him to not only show his skill a mercenary in hopes of getting hired, but he could also possibly gain access to their information from indirect sources If they're that sloppy whatever information they have is probably already in the hands of the people they are trying to keep it away from, the people I need to meet and soon Karl began pondering the possibilities, of a town with guards such as these and found that he needed time to plan, which he should have plenty of, upon reaching the rusty dragon.

Vishoon |

Seeing most of these other defenders of the town have decided to go to inn, Vishoon debates going to the graveyad alone with the other human, and decides that if there is a necromancer or worse there 2 of them would be at a serious disavantage and follows them.
If it is a necoamncer they will probably come to the inn to get us...or maybe not as those guards seem like fools
Alright then lets go see the man in the inn about the reward he mentioned, and have an ale.

Karl Sarvo |

As he walked with the rest of the party, Karl shifted his gaze towards Dairkal, the halfling seemed to have an unbelievably good relationship with the guards of this city, this became exceptionally clear by the way they reigned in their hostility when they addressed him, sure they were mostly hostile towards himself but they still shared some of those negative feelings with the rest of the group, except for Dairkal...
What could be his secret? Is he blackmailing them? Doesn't seem the type, then again looks can...could he be working for them? The mercenary began jumping from on theory to another, never settling on one that did not seem stable enough to handle the weight of the information that he already knew about the halfling...which was not much.
"Seems like you're well liked in this town" Said Karl his voice carrying tone that was somewhere in between inquisitiveness and calmness, he planned to get the halfling talking and hopefully learn why he was the target of such special treatment.

Karl Sarvo |

"Leave it to the merchant to deal with the merchants" Replied Karl as he shrugged his broad shoulders "I'd tell you to watch out about being cheated, but I don't think there's anyone here reckless enough to try and cheat a wizard" Continues the brown haired former guard, his voice surprisingly carrying a small spring joviality.
"How did that necromancer burn again?" A wicked grin appeared on Karl's face as he recalled Loupe's tale.

Dairkal |

Dair comes back and tells the others that the situation at the graveyard, such as it was, is apparently under control "We'll go there first thing in the morning. I don't like it, but I would rather not upset the guards"
He then flashes Karl a grin "Tis part o me unspeakable talent don't ya know? It be awful hard to hate a man who be entertainin ya and makin ya laugh till ya tumble off yer seats" He says in a overly outrageous accent.

Loupe Ardoc |

Loupe smiles shakily at Karl
Man, he's going to get me killed. Why the hell is he bringing it up again?
"Heh - yeah. Does someone want to help Vishoon out meeting the gentleman we saved? I'd really like one of you guys to have enough money to order something."
Okay - that's money. Everyone loves money, right?

Vishoon |

Vishoon follows the others to the inn.
Let me get us a table
And proceeds to find one that gives him a decent view of the whole inn, closer to the wall. Inviting these new "friends" over, he then orders a drink
These people seem decent enough they haven't judged me yet for my heritage, unlike those guards....I may have to show them to learn respect. But cant get carried away here, I'm here for a reason, tho it would be convenient if one of them turned out to be Tevok
So Daikal is it? What did those guards tell you they found in the graveyard?

Karl Sarvo |

Sitting with the armored half-orc at the table, Karl had a good view of the entire interior of the inn, it would be just the kind of place he would have picked Vishoon knows his stuff He thought as laid back further in his chair.
So Daikal is it? What did those guards tell you they found in the graveyard?
Karl kept his eyes on the various patrons and workers of the inn but kept his ears focused on the Vishoon and Dairkal's conversation, he was a bit curious about the graveyard but not as interested as he was in bartering the information with the sheriff and since going to the graveyard meant more trouble than it was now worth, his little heroic play wasn't worth keeping up...for now anyway.

Sten sits at the table with his new friends."So my new brothers born of fire and blood, what brings you to this goblin infested town."

Karl Sarvo |

"I think I mentioned the scum I am hunting down before" He glanced at Sten before wondering what they'd have to do to get some service around here. In truth he did not enjoy mentioning the subject if it didn't further his search in anyway, but it was best to let out; the last thing he needed was the armed people he just fought with getting suspicious.
"Was hoping he made it to this town, now I am just trying to find out if he passed through, is still staying here or if he came here at all" Said Karl his bored tone of speech hiding any real feelings he had on the subject.
The mercenary's eyes scanned the inn, hoping to find someone who looks shady enough to approach at a later time. This town had been testing his patience and his tolerance to boredom before the goblin attack, and he hoped that it at least had some sort of information broker.
