Distracted by the children clamoring around her, Adele begins to croon a cheerful song about an owlbear going over a mountain to entertain them.
That's okay; it's the same bonus so it would still be a 24.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Hearing that the woman has skills in the arcane arts, Dragox wants to help her even more. "It's your choice, ma'am, but if I could heal your arm, you might have some magic prepared that would help the evacuation go much faster. We could get the injured and children to safety."
If the woman declines again,
Dragox turns and approaches the two priests, asking if there is anything he could do to help heal any of the injured.
Maysalkirii Weyog
Maysalkirii re-appears, and moves over to Adele, whispering in her ear.
She has both an evil and a chaotic aura- but the fact that she even showed up from my detection spell suggests that she should not be trifled with. I expect she must be a spy. I believe we are well within our rights to capture and interrogate her.
Adele Dujardin
Adele finishes her song and nods slightly to Feek. "Watch her -- and warn the others. We need to get the innocents out of the way or she will not hesitate to use them as hostages," she instructs him, before moving over next to the cleric, trying to hurry the evacuation. "The woman who was assaulted," she asks, "has she lived in your village long?"

Noticing the beutifull woman at the back Narses stares for a second before turning his gaze to the crowd. Buisying himself with helping he is oblivious to any misgivinga about any of them.
At Feek's warning Narses apears quite puzzled but spares her a second glance, noting her postition. Keeping her within his radar he continues helping.

"The woman who was assaulted," she asks, "has she lived in your village long?"
The village cleric looks up from treating a nasty sprained ankle, "Her? Oh, I don't think so. I think she's a merchant or trader or something. She came to town a few days ago and stayed at the inn. The incident with the town guard was yesterday, just a few hours before a Lion of Brindol rode through telling us we needed to evacuate." The cleric turns back to attending to the ankle.
Adele Dujardin
Adele is too small to do any heavy lifting, but she will entertain the children and help cheer and encourage the injured and infirm. If any bear wounds that seem serious or likely to worsen during the evacuation, she will channel energy or lay on hands to ensure they arrive in Brindol without danger. If the red-haired woman attempts to climb aboard the wagon, Adele will turn to her with a smile: "I simply can't let you leave without taking a closer look at your arm. Ride on," she'll tell the cleric. "We will make sure this woman gets to where she needs to go." Diplomacy 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
DM Tanner
The cleric shrugs, "Fine by me, there's plenty to do." He turns and resumes directing acolytes in caring for the wounded.
The flame-haired woman now appears quite embarrassed, "Please, I don't want to be a bother. There are people here who are far more wounded than I. Shouldn't you tend to them? After all, I have the means to hire a healer in Brindol to mend my arm." She smiles an exasperated smile. "Now, please, I would love to leave this village before the Red Hand horde arrives."
DM Tanner
Maysalkirii has slowly drawn his sawtooth sabres from their shoulder scabbards wordlessly while he waits for Adele to respond, poised to rush at the woman at the first sign of trickery or spellcasting.
You are still surrounded by refugees. I will need a Stealth check to avoid alarming people nearby.
Adele Dujardin
"Oh, we'll be gone before the Horde arrives; don't worry," Adele replies. "But I understand that you were but newly arrived in the village; any information you might have to share with us about the state of the roads and the countryside would be most valuable. Just step aside with us for a moment away from this hubbub and let us ask you some questions. In exchange for your help, we'll gladly heal your arm. That's a reasonable request, isn't it?" she smiles.
DM Tanner
The woman follows you, "I suppose that's reasonable. My name is Miha Serani. I'm an independent trader based out of Brindol. I make the run to southern Taldor and back several times a year. The road has been free adn clear since the Hammerfist Holds to the south. I think if I had seen Red Hand troops, I wouldn't be here to talk to you right now."

Once out of earshot of the harried cleric and invalids (and assuming the rest of the Silversong Champions move away with her), Adele speaks in a low voice. "It's possible, Miha Serani, that you are simply a bad person caught up in a bad situation, just like all the good folk around you; however, given that we know that the Red Hand has spies and informants scattered throughout the Vale, it is in your best interests not to hide anything from us, if you are truly innocent of collaboration. Tell us the truth." Diplomacy 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Miha looks confused and irate. "Excuse me? Bad person? Spies and informants? Who in the bloody stars do you think you are, going about making such accusations? Do you always go around making claims of treason? You people are strange. I don't have to put up with this." She takes a step backward toward the villagers, keeping you in eyesight.

"We may be strange," Adele replies firmly, "but we are also gifted by several of the goodly gods to recognize that you carry an aura of evil about you. Not only that, but we are also officially deputized by local authorities to imprison and interrogate you, if necessary. It needn't go that far, if you will speak to us willingly and tell us what you know." She lays her hand on the hilt of her rapier for emphasis.

By this point Maysalkirii is shaking his head in disbelief at the calm manner in which Adele is attempting to reason with a creature that he knows is irrefutably evil. He surges forward, sabers in hand.
Sorry guys but I don't think shes coming quietly and our inaction is buying her precious time.

SURPRISE ROUND
Maysalkirii and Shalani may act during the surprise round.
Sorry, no map for this one since there is only one opponent. Please be aware that innocent villagers, and their homes, are within 30 feet of you.
Shalani Mistoreth
Profile updated... Sorry about that. Took a while.
Shalani is uncertain who they are being threatened by, as the person they are speaking to seems like a relatively normal person by all accounts. Still, she senses danger, so begins to perform the strange gestures and intonations necessary to summon forth a small fire elemental. (casting Summon Monster II)
Maysalkirii Weyog
Just FYI Shalani Maysalkirii went to each of you and told you his findings- that she had a strong evil aura about her. Its in a spoiler 10 or so posts above marked 'The Silversongs except Adele'.
Charging forward, Maysalkirii thrusts a sabre into Miha Serani, hissing-
Do not hold back Silversongs, this one is as wicked as a demon...

Maysalkirii leaps forward, burying a blade into the side of the flame-haired woman. With a raspy hiss and hate in her eyes, Miha Serani throws her hands out. The sides of her dress burst as six chitinous legs and a bulbous abdomen erupt from her petite form. (PIC)
She chitters in an unknown language, then casts her hands wide, spraying out a thick jet of sticky, tangling web as she skitters backward.

The townsfolk shriek in horror as the spider creature barrels through them, heading towards the town hall. Miha Serani is now 50 feet away from the party.

Shalani whispers words of arcane complexity as a static hum fills the air. She points both hands at the shapechanger and a bolt of lightning arcs towards the foe.

Shalani had started casting Summon Monster in an earlier post, but I liked the lightning bolt too- except for the townsfolk it obviously blew up!
Maysalkirii is undeterred by both the web he avoids and the crowds impeding his path- weaving in and out of them smoothly as he charges toward his foe and strikes once more with Ilyandrosa.

Between repeated stabbings and lightning sears, the twisted, many-legged form of Miha Serani crumples to the ground. Townfolks scream and dash around the village square, fleeing the violence and confusion. You are tense for a moment, searching for other combatants, but find that you have effectively emptied the streets. The only other people are the unconscious villagers who were awaiting care from the clerics.
Adele Dujardin
Adele sighs with a touch of exasperation. "I suppose now is a bad time to point out that we can't question her if she's dead?" she asks pointedly. "Search her and see if she's carrying anything that could give us any information. I'm going to try to reassure the townsfolk." She goes in search of the Iomedaean clerics to apologize for the ruckus and assure them that the immediate danger has been averted; with their help, perhaps the evacuation can get back underway. I'd have liked to take her alive too Adele, but she was going to escape. I know you like to be forthright in all your dealings, but perhaps next time we should take someone we suspect by surprise and put them in manacles before we begin to question them? Please?
DM Tanner
On the body you find one blue potion, three white potions, a plain dagger, a very well-made beltpouch, a well-made ring, two arcane scrolls, and 35 gold pieces. You find nothing of a sensitive nature on her body.
Heads begin to peek out from doors and windows. The cleric you first spoke with yells out from across the village square, "What in bloody stars is going on out there!?"
Adele Dujardin
"I'm very sorry," Adele calls back. "We suspected the woman of being a spy, but I had hoped to question her quietly, without alarming the town. My companions were ... a little overzealous in their eagerness to protect the townsfolk. The immediate danger has been neutralized, however, and it is now safe to continue the evacuation."
Use the above Diplomacy roll for her explanation.
As the villagers begin to cautiously emerge from shelter, Adele will approach the head cleric again. "You said the stranger killed one of the town guard. Is the captain of the guard still in town? It's possible the unfortunate guard, despite his reputation, stumbled upon her in an incriminating situation. Any information we can uncover about what she might have been doing in town could be helpful."
Dragox
Dragox was still a bit out of sorts at teh quick flurry of activity that had just occurred around him.
Having nothing to do better at the time, he quickly examined the various items, casting Detect Magic to see what detected as magical. Separating the magical from the non magical, he examined those a bit closer.

The blue potion is a potion of blur, the beltpouch is a heward's handy haversack, the ring is a ring of protection +1.
People begin to advance cautiously into the village square, some taking a morbid curiosity with the charred corpse. The cleric comes to speak with you, "The captain of the guard is around here somewhere. I don't know how much he could tell you that you don't already know. It was quite the hubbub a few nights ago. This... thing screamed and many of us ran out. We found her alone with the guardsman, him dead on the ground and her with a broken arm."
