The sun is high with a cool, salty breeze. It is a perfect day for sailing. Aboard the Minerva's Joy, portly Selman Pilter is pacing the deck, impatient with the length of the trip.

"Were Absalom not the perfect place to maximize profits, I would never leave Shaw. This travel is almost not worth it." He takes a glance at his most recent purchase, a fine gold ring with a large set ruby. "Almost," he giggles to himself.

The boat is a few hours from Port Shaw, set to unload its latest wares for sale from the exotic Inner Sea. The crew aboard is obviously exhausted, but enthusiastic for the return home. Selman waddles over to his dining chamber, where his five mercenaries are enjoying a lunch."

"Ah, my precious bodyguards. I hope my gratitude for your hard work is filling?"

Rhous is not in a very good mood.
Absalom sounded incredibly promising to find leads on Rascaro, and instead he found nothing. Three full days questioning half of the docks workers, the beggars, the thieves, spending more coin in bribes than for himself, and he was not an inch closer to finding the bastard.
He sighs as Zaria hints at staying longer next time But would it make any difference?

Nevertheless, Taldan etiquette is very clear on the protocol to follow when faced with a good banquet «The food is delicious, Captain – the spicy shellfish in particular!» he smiles politely at Valaravans «I fear that our toothy friend is as much of a danger for the health of your adversaries as he is for the size of his companions’ belly!»

Luckily his mood picks up while watching the exhibition of the two women. «First you tempt my gluttony, now they go after my lust. What a sinful gathering we are, ah, Master Valavarans?» he adds smiling to the half-orc.

Even at the height of our bloodthirst we Demon Warriors of Techpotizil kept from raiding temples...their are horrors in them that would make you squeal like a pig being butchered.


"A squealing pig?" Selman asks, making his way over. "Hmm, I may have an idea for a good dinner tonight. Anyway my friends, it seems we're not along to port." He points off to the horizon. "As you can see, Shaw is well within reach. Soon we will be home and your gold pouches will be overflowing. Now, all I would-"

He is cut off by a violent rocking of the boat. The crew yell and an almost panicked scrambling takes place. Various sailors and rig runners fall from their posts up near the sails, one with a sickening thunk onto the deck before them. A loud hiss emanates from all around the boat as the water on port gives way to a massive shadow. A serpent easily the length of the grandest frigate to sail the seas rises from the churning brine. Its sinuous body is marked with a white lateral line, its spine a strange luminous green hue. The titanic dragon’s eyes are enormous, fully four feet across, and surrounded by small glowing tentacles that ripple hypnotically.

Djulla and Zaria, you know the creature is Olaus the Grey, a Benthic Serpent which is a type of dragon. It roams the area not too far from Port Shaw in hopes of capsizing ships to eat its contents. Were this ship smaller, it would run this risk of easily capsizing. Instead, Olau may instead attempt to dominate someone with its gaze in hopes of receiving tribute.

Here's your order. Djulla, your question earlier about rolling initiative for your familiar I had misread as rolling knowledge. Familiars and companions act on their owner's turns. Olaus is currently 10 feet from the ship.

It’s a standard action to drink a mutagen.
