Derrick scrambles for a vial from his pouch, finding some alchemists's fire. He tosses it at the closest pile of beetles.

Ranged touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Cindersnake's earthbraker becomes coated in monstrous viscera as the spider creature is obliterated beneath the blow.

A large number of beetles wilt in the flame produced by the alchemist's fire. Derrick gives a triumphant smirk which quickly spins around around to become and almost horrified frown as he sees the beetles trample over towards him.

Vedic and Valsaya each grab one of Ulfak's arms and begin to pull him away from the dais towards the exit.

GM rolls:

Swarm damage: 1d6 ⇒ 21d4 ⇒ 4

Derrick takes 6 damage. The spider and one of the swarms are dead. The remaining swarm has taken a total of 4 fire damage.

A blast of flame works out of Vedics palms, but the unfortuanate angle cause the blaset to miss most of the beetles. The rest crowd around the spider-like creature in an attempt to bring it down. The creature shows just how agile it truly is by dodgin the majority of the attacks. Only Valsaya's strikes true, as is guided by some divine force.

The beetles crowd up on the dais, covering the entire area, slowly working their way up the group's legs. Their bites sting and burn, as if their mandibles were laced with fire or acid.

The spider creature flails its legs around wildly, striking Ulfak in its madness.

Everyone takes 5 damage and 3 acid damage from the swarms. Ouch! The spider Whirlwind Attacks, hitting Ulfak for 6 damage.

GM Rolls:

Swarm Reflex Saves: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Swarm Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 51d4 ⇒ 3
Whirlwind Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 191d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Whirlwind Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

The strange spider creature seems to bide its time. Meanwhile, the swarms flow forth, rushing towards the dais. The spider follows after, rounding around towards the east side of the dais. It moves unnaturally fast, quickly out pacing the swarm.

The swarms end their turn just short of the dais, a 5 ft. gap between them and you guys. The spider ends it turn at the base of dais itself.

Derrick's Initiative: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Here's the initiative:

Spider
Swarm x2
Ulfak
Nitavesha
Vedic
Derrick
Valsaya

As I'm botting Derrick he will be delaying until after Valsaya for now.

The swarms are 15 ft. down the hall, the spider is down 25 ft.

Knowledge (Dungeoneering) and Knowledge (Nature) available for more info.

Super 'Secret' GM Rolls:

Creature: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Swarm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Technically that was round 2. We are entering round 3. Brzzt.

Your attack hits, but no crit. :(

Quick end of round recap, mostly for my tracking.

Moctezuma - attack missed
Rhous - suggestion
Djulla - inspire courage
Salty - swimming, drinking extract
Zaria - attack hit, 18 dmg
Olaus - attack hit, 27 dmg

At the start of the turn, Selman comes up from below deck, pulling along a goat.

End of round.

Moctezuma
Rhous
Djulla
Salty
Zaria
Olaus

Only Selman was affected by the gaze.

Djulla and Zaria, you know the creature is Olaus the Grey, a Benthic Serpent which is a type of dragon. It roams the area not too far from Port Shaw in hopes of capsizing ships to eat its contents. Were this ship smaller, it would run this risk of easily capsizing. Instead, Olau may instead attempt to dominate someone with its gaze in hopes of receiving tribute.

Here's your order. Djulla, your question earlier about rolling initiative for your familiar I had misread as rolling knowledge. Familiars and companions act on their owner's turns. Olaus is currently 10 feet from the ship.

Moctezuma
Rhous
Djulla
Salty
Zaria
Olaus

Super Secret GM Roll:
Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 7

The first metal man rushed out only to find itself running into gunpowder and a metal bearing. It fell to the floor in a clatter of scraps. Two others rushed in after it, and took notice of the pile of strangers in the side hall. They began to take aim with their firing arms.

Initiative!

Boodka
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Booker
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Entaro
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Quentin
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Valai
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Initiative Order:
Booker
Entaro
Valai
Metal Men
Quentin
Boodka
Celia

The constructs are currently on their way out of the room to look for whoever is making the ruckus. They are currently unaware of you.

Entaro had regained his footing. He swung viciously at the crab's leg once more. This time, it gave. The crab toppled to one side, but held on to Celia, who could not break free. Valai accosted its sensors once more while Quentin destroyed some of the exposed wiring on his side.

Boodka, obviously upset with his lackluster performance thus far, let out a growl. He brought his earth shaker back and swung it high over his head. It struck true in the crabs inner mechanisms, newly exposed by Valai's magic missle.

SMASH

The crab collapsed, a broken heap of metal, wiring, and gears. It's grasp on Celia lessened and she slipped free from its clutches.

Crab
Current Status: Dead

Entaro jumped back to dodge the crab's lunge. As he landed, his foot slipped on the loose dirt, causing him to stumble and miss his attack. Celia continued to infuse the Drunken Hero's chaotic nature into the beast. The circuitry malfunctions continued. Boodka swung once more with his earth breaker. This only led to a larger dent in the same area.

Quentin burst with electric energy as he placed his hand on the crab's leg, frying a few wires. Valai's missle shot straight forward, hitting Boodka's dent head on, finally piercing the chasis.

The crab reached for Celia with one claw, which was promptly dodged. As she avoided that one, the second claw came around and closed its grip on her like a vice.

Celia take 2 damage from the claw and 5 damage from constrict.

Crab
Damage Taken - 14
Current Status: Flanked by Entaro and Quentin, Grappled status (-4 Dex, -2 Attack Rolls)

Entaro rushed around to one side of the crab and struck true against one of its legs. It was smashed almost to the point of nonfuction. As Celia moved in and placed her hand on a different leg. When she made contact, the crab seemed to twitch and smoke, as if it was malfuncitoning. As he was caught off gaurd by the attack, Boodka hadn't the opportunity to put his full force into his attack. His earth breaker bounced off the crab's chassis leaving only a large dent.

Meanwhile Quentin moved opposite Entaro and struck against the other leg. His sword cut, but nowhere near as deep as Entaro's attack. Valai sat back as she watched her ray strike the crab. It's sensors whirred as they were receiving errors, but continued to mostly function.

The crab, having been assaulted from both sides, attempted to grab at Entaro and Quentin. However, Celia's attack was enough to devestate its systems and make the crabs attack easily avoidable.

Crab
Damage Taken - 11
Current Status: Flanked by Entaro and Quentin

Your move, Booker!

For the purpose of combat, I'm rolling everyone's initiative now, rather than waiting for everyone to post. Also, you all have your weapons out, as Keth warned you ahead of time.

You are all 15ft away from the crab. I'm just assuming you were all walking in a line, side by side. If you prefer a map, let me know. Also, feel free to ask Keth any questions you like. If he has answers, he is assumed to go last in the initiative, but otherwise is not part of combat.

Initiative Rolls:
