"Anyone have a shatter spell to use on that mirror?" Cuthalian asks. "I'm tired of dealing with these illusions but sadly, I have nothing to break that mirror with."
Elathras Narcinal
Releasing the rage, looking from Cuthalian to the chests, then back to Alana, "Do we know what kind of mirror it is? Maybe it's worth something."
He then gestures towards the chests smiling, "I bet there's something in the chest's worth keeping."
Moving toward the Chests, he begins looking around keeping an eye out for traps and such opening them if he thinks they are safe.

"Elathras, use caution with those chests, I detected two different points of magic on them earlier."
"I KNEW that mirror was somehow tied to that creature, but, alas, I do not have the requisite spell to shatter it from afar. I am not even able to levitate a raging barbarian within range to dismantle it."
"Now that I think of it, steer clear of the back wall as well...it also had the stink of magic associated with it." as she points to the area on the back wall that has the blue tint sticking out.
She then moves a little further into the room, but on the other side from the chests.
"Now this wonderful pile of loot seems to be free and clear of magic, which means it may even be real. Before anyone touches one cent though, it should be examined for traps, just to be sure."
Silvash Auerial
Silvash examines the room for a moment and then says, "Before we do anything we should find out what these magical auras are. It will take me a moment to examine them as well." He then casts detect magic and waits till he sees each aura.

You detect magical auras. The amount of information revealed depends on how long you study a particular area or subject.
1st Round: Presence or absence of magical auras.
2nd Round: Number of different magical auras and the power of the most potent aura.
3rd Round: The strength and location of each aura. If the items or creatures bearing the auras are in line of sight, you can make Knowledge (arcana) skill checks to determine the school of magic involved in each. (Make one check per aura: DC 15 + spell level, or 15 + 1/2 caster level for a nonspell effect.) If the aura emanates from a magic item, you can attempt to identify its properties (see Spellcraft).
Magical areas, multiple types of magic, or strong local magical emanations may distort or conceal weaker auras.
Aura Strength: An aura’s power depends on a spell’s functioning spell level or an item’s caster level; see the accompanying table. If an aura falls into more than one category, detect magic indicates the stronger of the two.

Was Elathras able to open the two chests that didn't have a trap or are they locked? What is the device on the north west wall?
'Hhhmmm the middle chest is trapped and it looks like Silvash is busy' Pointing at the middle chest as he kneels beside it, Elthras tells everyone, "This chest is trapped." Setting his greatsword down and drawing his tools out of his pouch he begins to attempt to undo the trap.

looks like he should have waited for Silvash :)

Following the explosion/gas cloud from the chest, Cuthalian moves to assist Mitleid (closest) and uses touch of good (+3 to saves for one round).
Elathras Narcinal
'Yuck!' Coughing as he places his hand over his face, silk scarf and all, Elathras tries to move away from the cloud, but it seems to follow him wherever he goes. "Wait and see? Oh you were talking about the trap? I thought you were looking at magical stuff. No one said not to open the chests." Looking a little sheepish under his scarf, "Except Alana, she said to be cautions and I thought I was."

talk about terrible rolls. So what's the damage?

Cuthalian can use touch of good 5 times a day. He will move to each and use touch of good as he gets to them. Silvash (2nd or 3rd save) then Elathras (4th or 5th save).
Elathras Narcinal
so can Elathras use Cuthalian's touch of good for roll #4? Also, did the trap reset?
Still looking sheepish, Elathras nods to Cuthalian, "Thanks Cuthalian, I still feel a little sick."
Gesturing toward the exploding chest he asks, "Do you think it's safe to open yet?"
Elathras Narcinal
'I think the cloud has dissipated.' Looking around the room while he sniffs the air, he gestures towards the trunk. "I think the cloud has gone, I will check the chest again to see if the trap reset."
Elathras returns to the trunk and carefully observes it to see if the trap has reset. "I promise I won't do anything until somebody tells me the other magic is ok."
perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 now he rolls good.
Elathras Narcinal
Gesturing towards the chest, "This appears to still be locked, but I don't see any more traps."
Looking from Alana to Silvash, "If you two think it's safe, Silvash would you like to do the honors?"
Silvash Auerial
Silvash shakes off the dust and and says "I don't feel good but you look like death warmed over. Thoron can you help Elathras and then take a look at me. Once you've seen to us we need to examine the magic items in here to make sure we are safe, then I think we can check the chests out. Agree?"
Elathras Narcinal
'Death warmed over, I guess I do feel a little peaked.' Looking from Silvsh to Thoron, Elathras agrees. "Your right Silvash, I don't feel great, but I'm sure it will pass eventually."
Realizing Thoron was casting a spell, Elathras instantly feels better, though not perfect, he smiles, "Thanks Thoron, That's better."
Nodding to Silvash, Elathras sheaths his sword and draws his bow, "That works I will watch the door and the mirror, while you and Alana check the magic. If I see any movement I will fire."
Thoron, we rested just before we attacked you, believing the illusion that you were the demon.
edit: so while Thoron was casting the three spells did that give Alana enough time to identify the magic being used?
Elathras Narcinal
'Well, might has well open it up. Looking from Alana to Silvash, Elathras places his bow in it's case and knees in front of the chest, "I didn't see anymore traps, so it should be ok to try."
He then attempts to open the chest.

"Enough of this silliness, there were two points of magic within that chest..." Casts Detect Magic and concentrates on the chest and its contents again. "Ah, the Teakwood box is one of them and the other lies within the lid of the chest. I advise caution and allow our rogue to ensure the lid does not contain yet another magical trap before we go any closer."
Silvash Auerial
Silvash goes over to the chest and examines the lid with detect magic active.

Wasn't the wall back here magical too? Have we figured out what the mirror does exactly?"
Alana Kelsh
|
The back wall is magical, thank you for reminding me...and no, we do not know exactly what the mirror does, only that it is very powerful and radiates Conjuration and Divination magic
Alana shifts her focus under Detect Magic from the treasure chest to the back wall that had detected as magical and begins her concentration focusing on the wall (to determine school of magic and intensity of aura) while the rogue works on the chest.
Elathras Narcinal
You see something vaguely humanoid in the center of the chamber,
Impeccably dressed and bedecked in exotic jewelry, this fiend holds an ornate saber in its backward-facing hands.
It then disappears.
Numerous bodies hang from meat hooks, and a vast pile of treasure lies in the corner of the room. There are tapestries, coins and three large chests: one of wood and two of bronze.
How much of this is an illusion? Are there still bodies hanging? Are the pile of coins and two bronze chests still there?
'Silvash is really good with those traps, maybe I should let him deal with all of them.' Watching as Silvash locates the hidden compartment, Elathras nods approvingly, "Good job Silvash."
Seeing the shield he asks, "Who needs a shield?" Then gesturing toward the coins, he adds, "I have the small bag of holding we bought, but I don't think all the coins will fit in it. Should we leave the copper ones?"
Elathras Narcinal
May as well check the chests. Moving towards the bronze chests, Ealthras checks them for traps, first the one on the left, then the one on the right.

not trying to be too gross, but what kind of shape are the bodies in? What kind? Are they clothed? just wondering if there are pockets to check
Silvash Auerial
Silvash takes a moment to examine the shield to see what he can determine about it. When he finishes he examines the mirror to see what he can find out about it.
