Turok's bardiche slices deeply into the side of the charging hyenaman, but it does not deter it's attack.
Garen clotheslines one of the hyena creatures with his shield as it passes, its legs continuing to run for several feet before crumbling to dust.
A glimmer in the eyes of the winged gorilla means he's recognized the greatest threat. He steps forward, roars, and swings his large bastard sword at Garen's neck. Garen's shield deflects the worst, but it bites into his arm, leaving a wicked gash.

Luichon feels his blood burning up as he listens to the half-orcs raging song, a rush of energy empowering his swords.

"COME ON YOU EXCUSES FOR DOGS, GIVE ME A BIT OF A CHALLENGE!"

Swiping both swords, Luichon attempts to cut down the two enemies infront of him.

am I correct in assuming X means dead bloody drip means injured? I will not accept rage this round (I believe this is the beginning of round 3

Also readjusting my aim was fine as I wasn't sure what would move before my turn. Was just concerned with getting a direct target hit. and not splashing my friends. just 5hp to the main target, 1/2(5) on anyone taking splash

Zellos seeing the Garen being mangled a bit. Eyes Garen. Eyes the monster(at k,16). Takes a deep breath "Aw Hell.. I can't let him die. Damn stalls blocking my path. Why didn't I read that book about dodging!" and rushes past the monster, while covering his head. Gets behind Garen touches his back and attempts to heal him. "Hope I"m not a bother, even a fine town guard needs help sometimes." Zellos keeps an eye on his back for the one he ran past.

Move to j,17. I will not be attempting acrobatics as I likely would fail, and Don't want to be stopped if I fail). Upon reaching the spot I'll cast cure light wounds on Garen.

Zurizar let the raging song wash over him filling him with the rage that coursed through his veins, but seeing the others around him getting hurt he did not let it fully control him by focusing on his training. He dropped into a more defensive stance while focusing his rage in one devastating punch.
As far as I know, you can still fight tactically while raging, so what I wrote above was more a bit of flavor, playing up one of his traits. hurrah for background ;)

Turok's bardiche whirls around and slices the hyena's head clean off, it disintigrates before the skull reaches the ground.
Faethor's rapier pierces the creatures heart, and the body falls to dust around it before the heart collapses around the blade.
Zellos darts past a creature to Garen's aid, but does not come out unscathed. 5 damage
Rejuvinated by Zellos' spell, Garen darts beneath the creature's blade, and thrusts his shield spike forward. Moving with a grace that belies his size, the winged gorilla easily dodges the blow.
Luichon's blades swing through the air, but only one connects, cutting a bloodless swath across its arm.
Zurizar's fist, trembling with harnessed rage, strikes the creature with such force that it exits its back, spraying sand into the air as its body falls apart.

The hyena creature who struck Zellos winds up to strike a mighty blow, but Zellos is able to deflect it with his shield.
Faethor is not so lucky, his rage leaving just enough of a gap in his defenses that the creature's fist is able to connect solidly with the half-elf's head. 10 damage, which brings him to -6? Stabilization roll please.
Luichon, perhaps distracted by his brother going limp beside him, also is struck by a dusty fist. 8 damage
The gorilla frowns as his previous attack is largely negated, and looses a vicious upward slash. Garen is lifted off his feet and deposited back on the ground in a crumpled heap. 16 damage. He is also at -6? Stabilization roll please.
The guards fire their crossbows at the winged monster before drawing their own spiked shields, shouting at him to stand down or be destroyed. The bolts plink harmlessly off its golden armor.

Zurizar saw that the golden armored gorilla was probably to big for him to handle. He moved back and attacked one of the other hyenas, hoping it would draw its attention away from the person it had wounded.

Turok steps forward to impale another hyena, but it dodges his attacks.
Zurizar's aim is thrown off by the appearance of a glowing point of light about 10 feet away.
Luichon recklessly spins into his opponent, his first blade merely a distraction for the neck severing follow-up. Dust spews from the gash as it falls apart. Near the end of his maneuver, he sees the same point of light as Zurizar, as it expands to 10 feet across, a complex symbol etched in white light.
The winged gorilla sees it too, causing a swing that would have brought the other Dondarrion to Pharasma's Gates to miss instead!
The remaining hyenamen converge on Zellos. He is able to dodge one fist, by jumping into another. 9 damage, you're at -6, also? Unless you'd like to use Stone Shield?
The guards rush in, one of them slamming harmlessly into the gorilla's armor, the other charges at a hyena creature, but gets distracted by the growing symbol.

Yeah I'll pop stone shield. I'm hurt enough I'm scared haha. add 4 to armour class, 2 to reflexes. if it does miiss, it hits shield. hardness 8 15hp points. I have no swift action this turn, not that I have a use for it. 2/4 spell uses today

Zellos snaps out of it as he sees a attack coming for him. His stone tatoo glows as a Zellos sized stone slab intercedes. Then he steps next to the guard hoping for help, and that the baddies seem to dislike the light and throws a guantlet covered punch at the bugger.

Turok advances on the gorilla, but the beast merely laughs as the polearm bounces off his armor.
A chunk of the cobblestone street juts out of the ground, intercepting the hyena's knockout blow. Zellos's fist fails to find its target, however.
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Luichon lunges forward, blades spinning. One blade is deflected by the golden armor, but, impossibly the other manages to find a chink in the metal, biting into the gorilla's flesh. It roars in surprise, and glares at the half-elf, cursing in that same ancient language.
Zurizar can't seem to hit the hyena creature, likely distracted by the brightening symbol.

There is a flash, and a small wooden creature appears in the center of the glyph, adorned with fading red and gold paint and holding a fist sized diamond in one hand and a handful of rocks in the other. It throws the diamond at the gorilla. It shatters in midair, sending two glassy balls of force rocketing out of the gem shards and slamming into the beast's chest, driving it 15 feet back.

At the same time, the wooden creature throws the handful of rocks in the air. The colorful crystals orbit above its head for a brief second before shooting through the air towards each of you. When they touch you, there is a blinding flash of colored light and a wrenching sensation in your gut. The gorilla's frustrated roars fade and are replaced by the sound of blowing wind. The air is thin here, like one would find atop a mountain, and any exposed skin is quickly chilled.

When your vision returns, you are lying prone on a large stone platform 20 feet wide with an inlaid stone design of the same symbol that was glowing on the streets of Almas. Beyond the platform, you can see the leafy green canopy of a forest. Nothing, in any direction, obscures your view of the deep blue sky, no mountains, no trees, just sky. The bright sun warms your body, taking the edge off of the windy chill.
Where the wounded lay, small root tendrils creep up to their body, pulsing with a healing energy. Within a minute, all of your wounds are healed.

The wooden creature from the market stands perfectly still in the center of the glyph, one could easily mistake it for a statue.

"Ugh... What happened?" Luichon slowly pushes himself up, his vision blurry but coming into focus "Faethor...? Faethor! Brother!"

Regaining his senses and remembering the fight, Luichon scrambles over to Faethor, trying to shake him awake and patting his cheek "Faethor! Wake up!"

The last thing Garen remembered was a slash and the sensation of weightlessness before he lost consciousness. He wakes up to see the bright sun and no monsters in sight. "Where are we? There are still monsters rampaging at the Fair. I have a duty to stop them." He picks his shield up to make sure it was not damaged.

Zellos' curiousity gets the better of him and he walks up and starts looking closer to the statue. "That item blast was neat.. What was it? How did we get here? What about the golden bugger and the guards? Oh.. and thank you."

Eyes flickering open, Faethor wakes with a little bit of a headache.

"I'm alive... I'm fine Lu. Good to see you're okay." He says rather plainly, pushing himself away and up from Luchion.

Faethor looks between the strangers among them.

"...Are... Are you talking to that statue, elf?... Forget the fair guardsmen, you should be putting that mental case blood away."

The creature is a construct, an old one, by the looks of it, and as far as you can tell, you're not on any other plane you're familiar with. The gem is similar to an elemental gem, instead of trapping an elemental inside, the energies of a spell are evoked in the crystal.

A moment after being addressed, the creature stirs.
"Language analyzed. Azlanti branch, Taldane," it speaks the language better known as Common with no accent. "Greetings! I am Yakhamssa, I exist to serve." It bows gracefully before continuing.
"You will be returned to the location designated Field of Concord, Almas, Andoran, Avistan shortly. First, the Master of this place must speak with you."

As it finishes, a blue hooded figure holding a smooth staff slowly rises into view from the forest canopy, as if ascending hidden stairs along the edge of the platform.


"You might just start talking to it too brother, seeing as it was the one that saved us. Assuming it's actually alive that is..."

Luichon knelt down to eye level with the statue, poking at it and waving a hand infront of it.

Garen looks to the blue hooded figure. "Who are you? And why are we here?"


"So it does talk!" Luichon exclaimed in amusement, bowing in return to the funny wooden golem.

At the mention of a master, Luichon raised an eyebrow and turned to see the blue hooded figure.

That was weird, a moment ago I'm fighting a bunch of crazy hyenas and an over-sized armored gorilla and now I'm sitting in a very beautiful but strange place with a talking wooden statue.

Zurizar sat up looking at the strange wooden statue. "Yakhamssa, was it? Where are we right now?"

Turok looks towards the others as they crowd around the strange wooden construct his attention only divereted by the sight of the strange hooded figure rising up.

"So it's you we have to thank for our lives? OR is it too early yet for thanks? Why have you brought us here?"

The hooded figure raises a dark-skinned hand and waits for silence, then pulls back the hood to reveal her face.

"Welcome to Bastion." she speaks with a heavy, deliberate accent. "This planet is under attack. You have been chosen to form an elite team to battle the forces of destruction." She begins slowly walking forward as she speaks. "The monster you faced, called Kinzoar, cannot be defeated with your weapons. If left unchecked, he will conquer your city in less than a day. To succeed, you will need a power and a force you have never seen before."
She stops next to Garen, bends over, picks up the red crystal at his feet, and places it gently in his hand.
"These ancient power crystals have chosen you to wield them. When in danger, call upon them to enhance your abilities with the spirit inside you. You will become a fighting force known throughout time as the POWER RANGERS."

"Now, take hold of your crystals, and let us see the power inside!"

"How do we use this new power? And why can't you do this if you hold such power in your possession?" Garen asks not quite sure of what to make of this strange woman claiming to give them great power.

Faethor raises an eyebrow at the scene. He takes in the woman's words and... well, he can only agree that the beast they seemed to face was incredibly powerful looking. But to be struck down by his cohorts that easily? To let Almas and his friends and family burn? Not a chance.

"Enough prattle. Enough stupid questions" He mutters to himself with pointed look at the guardsmen. Looking down and picking up the white crystal at his feet.

"Fair woman! I accept you're proposal and your gift. I couldn't care less for words of spirits, but to save Almas, i pledge myself to you undying." He holds his crystal aloft. He feels a bitter, cold fury build up inside him as he proclaims "I need no explanation, 'spirit' lend me your power and let us slay this Kinzoar from our home soil!"

Not sure if that will activate this stuff but, meh, Faethor's wants to get back and kick some hyena butt.


Luichon looked down and picked up his own blue crystal, feeling an electric energy run through him

"Saving the city's good and all but... This looks like it'll be pretty fun too! Plus, being known as a Power Ranger sounds pretty cool."

He held his crystal up, looking at the sky through it

"Whatever it is, things are going to get interesting!"

Zurizar picked up the crystal in front of him and looked at it. The crystal seemed to glow with a silver sheen.
"So this would give us the power to protect Almas from those creatures that are attacking right now? How do we use them?"

Zellos, listened while looking in marvel at the wooden fellow's design. Walks back to his spot and looks for the crystal.
"I was going to die there anyway. I might as well try to rewrite my own ending. I'm sure as hell not going to let him harm my books. and I sure as hell still have things to read and learn."

Turns to "the master" does a short bow. "So. Is there an instruction manual I could read?"

Turok cautiously picks up his crystal. An ominous stone that seems to suck in the light around it rather than emanate with radiance.

Faethor's crystal flares briefly with cold, white energy as he holds it aloft, clearly responding to his desire to defend Almas, but it does not activate.

The woman smiles at Garen's skepticism, shaking her head.
"Even the most powerful cannot escape the procession of the ages. From this fortress I have watched your world for thousands of years, waiting for times of great need. Were I to leave this place, time would catch up to me quickly. I am afraid I will be of no use to you in combat."

She walks to each of you in turn, waving her hand over your crystal, which reveals a floating image of a creature.

"The brutal and relentless Linnorm is within you."

"Resolute and thoughtful, you have the spirit of the Golem"

"Your spirit is the Gorgon, resilient and tenacious."

"You possess the Roc, courageous and swift."

"The loyal and fierce Winter Wolf is your spirit."

"And in you, the mighty Dragon, fearsome and zealous."

She walks to the center of the platform, next to Yakhamssa, and faces the party.
"When you are in trouble, call your spirit by name, and press the crystal onto your forearm near your wrist. Your abilities will be enhanced, and you will gain access to new powers as well. Beware, your connection with your crystals is still new, your powers will not last long before they need to recharge."

She frowns, as if forgetting something. "Ah! One more thing. For the power to continue to protect you, you must follow three basic rules. First, never use your powers for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle unless forced. Finally, keep the knowledge of this place and your true identities secret; no one may know you are a Power Ranger."

"When you are ready, I will send you back to Almas."


"I'm ready!" Luichon shouts out without a moments hesitation, crystal grasped firmly in his hand.
