She looks over her should to the rest of the group and whispers, this is weird, we have people stuck in some sort of summoning circles, any of you lot got any experience with this sort of thing?

Asks Titus to the gnome while moving inside the room next to Chandu.

How someone could have survived so long if this place was constructed millenia ago?

Chandu moves a little further into the room.

Who are you and what are you doing here? How have you survived being trapped down here?

She casts a quick spell and looks around, hunting for magical auras.

Oh, hi! Lini says, spotting the gnome and moving closer to him but not into the circle. She sits down on the floor and ask What's wrong, why do you need help?

The gnome speaks up."Hello, please help me! I am Koth'Vaul and I was imprisoned here centuries ago by an organization known as the Thrallkeepers, who bound me here in the keep known as the Black Edifice to use his fey essence to power their magic.
My captors have all long since died, but the wards that bind me have kept me young. All I want now is to be free so that I can taste fresh air once again, die at last, and perhaps travel back in spirit to the First World from whence I came from!"

Lini stands up looking suspiciously at the other gnome. Your story does not make sense. I see no signs of bleaching on your part. Do you even know what happen to gnomes who grow board? And what kind of gnome name is Koth'Vaul? I can barely say it. She crosses her arms and says in an accusing manner. And since when can a summoning circle trap a gnome? That's crazy. Just step out of there.

Titus turns to Akhenethis

Don't you said that this edifice was millennia old? And that the Thrallkeepers were servitors of one of those "Runelords" who ruled back then?

After lini's words Titus was becoming suspicious about Kol'Voth story.

Akhenethys nods at Lini and agrees, "You seem to have no bleaching, friend -- if friend you be, for these wards are designed for the imprisoning of outsiders. If you are a gnome, say something in gnomish to us. And someone, go check on that woman, we may need to heal her or something."

Akhenethys makes sure his Mage Armor is up, and pulls out a pearl of power to recharge one of his spells (Grease).

Titus and Theodic are convinced that the poor gnome is telling the truth. You were utterly bluffed! Lini you have an idea, but without knowledge arcane you do not know that summoning circles shouldn´t hold gnomes.
Akhentys is so far the only who has more of of an idea that something is wrong.
"Very well, if you do not want to help me, I hope you do not mind me killing you! Illvaster, heed your masters call!"
At this a black dragon emerges from the pool in the west and moves forward.

The can breath a line of acid.
They are immune to acid.

Is this actually a normal dragon or something else, though? I'm trying hard not to metagame...

Is the dragon flying? Is it medium or large?

With a flick of her wrist Chandu sets the tip of her spear to gleam while muttering a quick spell after which there are now (1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5) 6 of her standing there. She moves forward to protect her allies, spear low and ready to strike.

Swift action for arcane strike, standard to cast, moves into position. If it provokes my OA is in the spoiler below.

Titus calls for the fire of purification Produce Flame

Then he commands Ydresus to attack the dragon.

Seems to be taking a long time to get to the dragon's action in Init 19. Did it act?

Lini commander her cat to guard her and casts flaming Sphere onto the dragon.

Flaming Sphere: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) = 10 DC 15 Reflex to avoid

Botting Theodic.
Theodic casts Magic Missle at the dragon.MM: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9
The dragon charges chandu. Her spear finds her mark but still the dragon attacks her.

Also you see suddenly two crawling hands emerge from the pool.

I actually tried to do a spellcraft check to see if this is really a spell or not and there was not a response. I dont think it is fair to bot if there was never an answer.

What would you like to discern with your spellcraft? The only people casting spells where your comrades.

Lini sics Droogami on the dragon then uses a move action to roll the fiery sphere back onto the dragon.

She then 5' steps and casts Produce Flame and throws it at the dragon. After it hit a flame springs back up in her hand.

Note Droogami has enough movement to avoid AOOS while moving around to flank.

Akhenethys begins summoning.

Chandu steps back and begins a long slow chant, the tip of her spear continues to glow brightly.

Swift action to keep using arcane strike, 5' step and standard action to begin bardic performance providing a +1 competence bonus to attack and damage rolls and to saves against fear.

Titus commands Ydresus to attack while he throws a flame at the dragon.

Again, Titus tries to attack the dragon with his flame before going back.

Ydresus despite being wounded tries again to attack the dragon.

Did you add the +1 to hit and damage from bardic performance?

Did the Flaming Sphere burn the dragon? Did Lini hit with the Produce Flame touch attack? Note att +1 to hit and damage from that roll for the bardic performance that I did indeed forget. So that is an 18 touch attack for 9 points of fire damage.

I don't think I ever got a response to whether or not I identified the dragon. I rolled a 10, giving me a 19 arcana or 16 if another skill applies. I will also try and identify the hands

Do her attacks seem to be having an effect on the dragon?

Akhenethys summons an eagle into a flanking position with the snake.

He moves into a tactical position and prepares to shoot an acid ray at either hand if they get close enough.

@ Chandu You do not get anything more than Akhenethys has found out.
You manage a bone shattering slash with your spear.
@ Lini your sphere is evaded by the dragon, but not the flame touch.
Refl: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Also droogami manages to get a good bite into the dragon.
Ydres does manage to bite the dragon but without luck in damaging it.
But the eagle manages to kill the dragon. It lands on the floor.
The hands come closer but one is easely destroyed in an AoO from Chandu, the other dies quickly by acid talon and bite.
Combat over.
The gnome starts to curse you in the vilest language possible.
Does anyone speak abyssal? Then you can understand it

Lini retorts That is not gnomish, and you are no gnome. It was quite rude of you to sic that dragon and those dead hands on us. You can rot in that circle for all I care. She calls her cat and they go to investigate the person in the other circle. She will not hesitate to cross into the circle if the person (woman?) is unresponsive.

You find two black stone pots sealed with wax in the pool that have survived the times. Between them they contain a scabbard of vigor, a phylactery of faithfulness, a potion of cure serious wounds, and five polished pieces of amber worth 100 gp each.
Unfortunately one spell does not wake the woman, but a second one does.
She introduces herself as Sulianna the luminescent, a Ghaele.
She explains that she dove into this empty summoning circle to escape Illvaster. The circle's outer rings radiate a powerful positive energy that keeps the undead beast at bay. Unfortunately, once she entered the circle the ancient wards prevented her from using her own magic to escape. Having succumbed to her wounds, she collapsed and has not recovered since. She also explains that Koth`Vaul is a Glabrezu. She asks politly to destory the circle. This will need some brute force. Do you do so?

Akhenethys discreetly uses detect magic to see if there are any illusion auras on the woman. Knowledge(arcana): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Titus heals Ydresus before making anything more.

After she explains it to him Titus asks

I will gladly help you destroy the circle but what about this Koth'Vaul? How can we get rid of it? Is it safe to let him here?

He walks over to inspect the dead dragon.

What can you tell us about why Kalkamedes is drawn here?

Lini, happy to provide healing, is not so quick to help release the woman. Waht's a Ghaele? she asks and seems quite interested in Chanda's questions. Yes. How is Kalkamedes linked to this place?

@Chandu. You think she is honest. Although with that sense motive roll you would also think that the gnome is honest
This is a binding circle a very strong one.

@ Akhenethys Unfortunately the circle is radiating so strong magic, you are unsure that you could perceive a minor illusion. You would say the bindings are fresh and strong, not like the one with Koth´Vaul

I sensed Kalkamedes, pleading for help. But alas I think the Glabrezu blocked my help. Only in his dreams Kalkamedes could hear me."
