It might seem superfluous to some but when I GM I like to try and expand a little bit on some of the locations you might visit in passing or other interesting landmarks you encounter, even if they're not the focus of the scenario. There are still a lot of setting books and other information that I've yet to read and so I'm often having to look stuff up on the side when I'm playing and a scenario is like, "You pass through <famous city> or encounter <famous landmark>" in a manner that assumes that you/your character know all about it (or enough). So I like to try and offer a little additional context for my own players, when and where I can.
Just random thoughts from under the hood :)

I should probably do this and I do apologize.
Day Job Roll: Day Job: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
If there is anything else you need let me know.
GM Ladile
No worries, Frank! Some people do their rolls at the start and others like to wait until the end before doing them; as long as you make it at some point and I can find it, we're good :)
In other news, due to the site outages over the past day or two (and also being tired and having trouble braining tonight) I'm going to give folks a bit longer to check in if they want before I look at moving the action forward - likely sometime tomorrow evening if all goes well.

Yeah it seems like every time I have some down time the site has been down. I wanted to make sure people didn't think I wasn't serious about playing :p Also is my profile and everything where you can read it now?

Yuuuuuuuuuup. I feel sorry for Oriklad and listening to me cursing and screaming at the computer when it decides to be lame.
It seems to be decent today, at least.
GM Ladile
Yeah, I think it's been better today - I just had a super busy day at work and couldn't do any catching up until I got home earlier. Still kicking myself on the slide thing, gah... >.<
GM Ladile
Seems like we're kinda-sorta back up at the moment! I'm currently at work but if the site remains stable and cooperative then we will tentatively resume normal operations.
However.
In the event of more shenanigans, you can find my email under a spoiler underneath the map links should you not be able to post and need to get in touch with me! Some groups are forming Hangouts chats and other means of keeping in touch during site outages but I won't insist on doing that here unless folks want to.
GM Ladile
Posted a post in Gameplay! For those with multiple games, be sure to check the Gameplay threads because I had one or two that weren't showing new posts (from today) once the forums came back up and people started posting again.
GM Ladile
Oh, one more note - due to the extended outage some of the start and end dates for Sessions 1 & 2 have changed as per the following:
Per the email sent to GMs.
Quote:Hello GMs:
In face of the ongoing Paizo outage, we have put the special on hiatus until Friday. Yes, I know. It sucks. But I think that having a defined restart date will take some of the pressure and uncertainty off this wait. You don’t have to constantly check to see if the forums are up. If the forums come up and look stable before then, we may revisit this. If this happens, I will of course send out an email blast to you!
OUR NEW DATES
Session One specials begin again on 8/24. They end 10/4.
Session Two (including the Session Two special) begins on 10/6.
The entire PBP Gameday ends on 11/20.
Thank you for your patience, words of encouragement, and everything else you folks have written to me during this frustrating period.
(Thank you also for not wielding pitchforks and storming my castle.)
Your loving and somewhat frustrated VC,
Hmm

I spent time in the astral plane communing with my inner demon.

I forgot how to post! LOL
Meanwhile, we've been playing impromptu games at Pathfinder at the apartment with all the free time we found ourselves having. bahahaha

I am here, posting from work when I see its up lol. Made a game play post!
GM Ladile
Okay, so given the crazy amount of instability of late and talk and rumblings elsewhere of folks moving their games to more stable places...I feel I should broach the subject here as well. Since this is intended to be a one-off scenario for Gameday I hadn't initially planned to even consider moving it (or my other games) somewhere else. But the outages affect you guys just as much, if not more, than me so I did want to see what folks want to do.

I don't play on 3rd party sites. Sorry. :(

I'm game for whatever, but the outages don't bother me too terribly much, probably because I don't see myself playing the next PbP Gameday. :/
GM Ladile
That's fine guys; admittedly moving doesn't really appeal to me anyway since it would be a pain to try and learn how other sites (like Mythweavers) work on top of actually playing the game. But I did want to offer the option.
GM Ladile
Got an early dinner-date with the hubs so I'll get us moved forward a bit later this evening :)

I’m excited for doing more, and being able to play is nice. As this is my first time playing this character, I really hope that he does well in a scenario like this. LOL

I'm scared to post. Every time I start to the site crashes lol. I'm up for trying to move it forward on here. If it hasn't crashed by the time I get home from work tonight I'll finally be able to jump back in.
GM Ladile
No worries, Orym. I'm at work so I'll post later this evening if the site stays up.
GM Ladile
I'm glad that folks are still excited for this game, even with all the crazy website difficulties! Hopefully things will stabilize and we can pick up the pace a bit but if not, we'll work something out so we can finish the scenario and get your characters freed up (for those of you hoping to play them at live games in the not-too-distant-future) :)
GM Ladile
Okay, so instead of making a copypasta, I'm going to link a post made earlier today by VC Hmm that discusses the current state of Gameday and possible options for keeping games moving should we have further downtime.
You can read it here.
Since moving is basically an absolute last resort (as we would lose Karabo's player), are any of the other backup options Hmm suggested something folks would be interested in (or comfortable) exploring?
GM Ladile
Because this deserves it's own post:
'I'm not that worried about it' is also an equally valid option. If folks aren't in any hurry and don't have these characters signed up for any games during Session #2 or upcoming cons, then I'm just as happy to truck along like we have been and just deal with any future site outages as they (may or may not) come.
I say this because it's easy to forget that there are folks who prefer to do their absolute best to limit their 'internet footprint' for any number of reasons or who may just not have the time to try and keep up with a bunch of additional digital noise - and I don't want to pressure anyone into anything that they're not comfortable with.

I'm in no rush, but Google Hangouts is fine with me.
GM Ladile
I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being lazy! I'm letting people who are more social than me shine during all this. I'll have my moment during combat :)
Not at all! Though you might want to give Frank & Orym's players a poke because there's a spoiler in Gameplay that one or both of them might want to have a look at ;)
I know folks might be busy today though so if I need to go ahead and bot one of them, I can do that. I got allllll day with nothing to do but hang out at home :3

I'm off today so I can be on too. I'm fine with whatever pace we go with this but I wouldn't be against posting in discord just to know we can keep it going either. I seem to be having the least amount of time line up with website up time so far.
GM Ladile
Well, it's thankfully been up and stable (*knocks on wood*) since Friday night so I'm hoping the worst of it has passed. They mentioned some future planned downtime but we're supposed to get advance notice about it. Someone mentioned in another game that reading between the lines on Paizo's tweets gave them the impression that it was a hardware issue so hopefully anything else will just be software stuff.

Woo, picking up some steam here. I don't think this will be the first combat, but man does it feel good to be posting regularly again.
GM Ladile
Thanks for bearing with me guys; work has kept me busy and I know our pace is still a little slow but I've got tomorrow free so hopefully I'll be able to respond to your posts a little more quickly (and often)!

Yup. Matt and I played together in Knoxville. I think it was his 2nd 7-11 (on a pregen of course). It was a good scenario, but suuuuuuuuuper challenging. Keyword: Torrent.

It was a fun one. I had the pleasure of running it in my local lodge :) but havent ever played it yet.
GM Ladile
Hey folks, I'm working today and we're also getting a new student so I should probably be all sociable and set a good example and stuff so I'll catch up with the game this evening when I get home :)
