Hiram Kell
|
Ladies and Gentlemen, and may I say I much prefer the first, I am Hiram Kells, Taldan swordsman and all-around dashing fellow. I am honored to be on this mission with you and I look forward to working with each and every one of you, for the glory of Taldor and the furtherance of the Pathfinder mission! Huzzah!

Man, maybe I should bring my Taldan, Jaysin, instead... I like this Hiram guy already.
Wilhelm Scream

Nope, Hiram. Not familiar with any of the AP's. He was named for the greatest voice-over effect of all time.

Greeting everyone, the name is Chasik and fellow Taldan. I may not hit hard, but my years as a longshoreman has taught me how to endure much. I take take a hit as there ever was one. I look forward to exploring whatever the VC has in store.

Wow EF, I'm so tempted to bring Jaysin now, LOL. All the Taldans! And all fighters too!

Ok, everyone! GameDay officially starts at the end of this week. This is just a reminder for everyone to make sure their characters/profiles are up-to-date and that everyone is ready to go.
Since we are doing a full module I'd like everyone to try to keep a good pace up. I think we will start Thursday night or Friday morning because we are unlikely to jump into combat in the first 24 hours and I'd like to get a slight head start to give us the best chance of finishing on time. I think we should be able to do it without a problem if everyone keeps up on their posting.
If you are ready to go and up-to-date, there's nothing much more for you to do right now except to be patient for a few more days. In the meantime, it might be helpful if you all started introducing yourselves and getting to know each other in the Gameplay thread so that you are already acquainted when we jump into the action later this week. Thanks!

Just got Bizzle another 1 XP to get to 4.2 now. If I use the money from that for anything I'll give you an update.

May Hiram purchase a +1 darkwood buckler? It's 1,203 gp.
Assuming you have the fame for it, sure. We haven't actually started yet so go ahead and make purchases if you want.
---
I will encourage everyone to introduce themselves in Gameplay and get to know each other. Once the action starts there might not be adequate time so this is a good chance to get to know each other before the adventure starts.

"Candle of truth, eh? Well... yes that may be quite useful." Wilhelm's forehead beads ever so slightly with sweat and he keeps his eyes locked on the candle, wary of it's use.
Clever, funny stuff, Wilhelm.
Wilhelm Scream
|
Yeah, it's funny how Wilhelm evolved. Originally, he was going to be a monk and be pretty much a straight-arrow for the Silver Crusade. But that changed for some reason - I don't remember really. I kept him as a Silver Crusade, but he's kind of on the edge of the organization. He's sort of has a Robin Hood ideal of justifying his little indiscretions if it helps the cause for the greater good.
Like with this coin - he'll happily put it into a donation box, rather than keep it for himself. He's a braggart, but he means well.

No problem, thanks for the warning. My fiancee looked like a chipmunk for a week but I recovered from mine by the next morning so I guess it's a different experience for everyone.

They are giving me loritab and perc so apparently I am going to sleep it off lol

Updated now! I just didn't have time to update all of my games when I was on earlier.
| EndlessForms |
Yes, you can find an ioun torch. The radius of all lighting effects are halved once you are in the mirror.

Wilhelm follows behind Hiram. He hums and half-sings a song under his breath, "Mirror in the bathroom please don't..."
GREAT song! I'm going to have it in my head whenever I post in this game now, for which I thank you.

Hiram - I know you didn't move yourself into your current position, it was EF playing out your attack roll since the first snake-beast went down - but if you could step back into that alcove, Terrill is mighty effective when flanking and doesn't get to do it nearly often enough.

Hey gang - I'm thinking we'll need to go back to the damned temple of Zon-Kuthon to get Terrill's vision restored after this combat, unless someone has a better idea. What think ye?
| EndlessForms |
I will have to double-check but I'm pretty sure your only way out now is to finish.
Working all day, I'll update tonight.

Oh, boy, that'll suck. I hadn't considered it might be a one-way mirror.
EF - If this were a PFS scenario, I wouldn't expect you to have much flexibility to introduce changes that might help Terrill out here (like a scroll of remove blindness found somewhere). I'm betting that's the same in a module, since it's still PFS play, right? Or (he asks hopefully) wrong?
| EndlessForms |
Since this is PFS I still have to run it as-written. The only time in PFS when you can do things your own way is if you are doing an AP in campaign-mode, in which case you can pretty much do whatever you want* and then hand out PFS chronicles at the end of each book.
*my favorite: Mythic Rise of the Runelords. . . IN SPACE!
As to whether there will be a scroll/solution later on, I can't say. You'll just have to stumble on and see what happens, I guess.

Shall I take your message as confirmation that you double-checked and we can't go back through the mirror until we're done with things on this side of it?
| EndlessForms |
Locked Plane: As the midnight mirror is a prison plane meant to hold souls indefinitely, planar travel to or from the midnight mirror is restricted. Creatures may only enter or leave the plane via the mirror's user uttering the designated command word. In the case of the []midnight mirror[/i] in Boroi Manor, the ability to remove a creature from the mirror in this way has been broken. Instead, a willing creature on each side of the mirror can switch bodies. Alternatively, [redacted].[/spoiler]
You'll learn more as you go but basically, yeah, you're stuck in here.

Ah, so I might be able to get my vision back, but I'd have to trick the baron into switching places with me.
Looks like I'll need a hand for a while, folks. Hello? Uh, gang, where'd everyone go?

With how paranoid he is and how scared of the mirror he is? Good luck with that. . . ;)

Yeah, that was more or less where I was going with that argument. Precisely why I began whining about reviving Elenuta and seeing if we can get a crazy, paranoid fetchling to sort out my problem. So many good answers...
| EndlessForms |
It is dismissible, if you can convince her to do it for you. More on that tomorrow though.
| EndlessForms |
Just to give you guys an update on where we are: the rest of this module is somewhat of a dungeon crawl, although some rooms have the opportunity for role-play. We have a month left for Gameday and in order to finish on time we'd need to do at least two encounters per week. That's certainly doable if everyone posts quickly enough but we'll need to try to keep things moving as much as possible if we want to finish by the deadline.
That being said, I don't want to rush things because this is probably my favorite module (and I've played/GM'd the majority of them) and I have no problem going past the deadline if you guys would rather take your time with the rest of it. You'll still get chronicles either way, the only difference would be that you wouldn't get a chance to roll for a Gameday boon. But we can still finish on time without missing anything if everyone keeps their posting rate up for the next few weeks.
Terrill Mayern
|
EF - I'm very motivated to finish this by the end of Gameday, becuase I want to have Terrill free for PaizoCon, which starts right after Gameday ends. So I'll try to keep up the posting rate, and I hope others are able to do so.
In the interest of not wasting time, can I ask if it's even possible to convince Elenuta to dismiss the blindness or should I not waste the group's time?
| EndlessForms |
It would have been possible but the unfortunately low Diplomacy check kinda missed that situation. As you've seen, they're not exactly stable in the first place anyways.
Terrill Mayern
|
So the second try at diplomacy, offering to free her? Should we give up on that too?
Sorry to get metagamey, all. I don't want to miss a shot at getting Terrill's sight back, but I don't want to waste time on it either.

Before we go through the wall, Terrill will apply buffs in this order:
Prot from Evil on himself (only increases his AC by 1, since he already has a ring of protection)
Prot from Evil on Hiram (better than Shield of Faith and lasts much longer)
Divine Favor on himself (+1 luck bonus on attack and damage)
Oil of Bless Weapon on his sword (considered good-aligned, auto-confirms crit threats)
Shield of Faith on Bash (+2 deflection bonus to AC)
Seems a bit excessive, but we might as well smoke 'em if we got 'em. Of course, after all this prep for attack and defense, the Heart's sure to be some incorporeal thing and only saves will matter in fighting it...
