GM: what can we do to make this easier for you?
Also- if you want, I have the maps/google docs of all three FF tables. You may think it’s easier to start fresh but if not, just PM me.

You know, there might be worse things than Vexin helping out with the cooking. I would hate for him to end up alone with all of the guards food...

Just doing a headcount, looks like this table has all its players. Not the case across the tree so far unfortunately!
I trust everyone is having fun so far. Swapping GM's can always have a bit of an impact as playstyles/GM styles can vary, so if you have any issues or struggles adapting then please let me know.

I think this switch has gone really smoothly- it only took one/two posts to adapt to the style and tone change and I quite like it.

So... what's the plan. I (ooc) like the poison in the food idea, but I don't know how to actuate it at the moment. Playing cards is an easy thing to keep doing- but it isn't advancing the plot line, and I am not sure there is much more information to get out of them...

Sorry, I'm losing track of our plan here and it feels like we're just going in circles. Can someone remind me what we're trying to do? (I know we're rescuing that guy but how?). Is Vexin trying to poison the food? Do we need a distraction? Elemenar can create one if that's needed.

I figured I would try to at least use it to take out a few of the guards with poisoned slop. I ended up making him a fan tho so he is still watching me. Haha. I've never been in such a situation so I am kind of working off the cuff.

A distraction would probably make Vexin's job a lot easier. I really would prefer that it doesn't turn into violence though. Where is a bard when you need one?

Sounds like a distraction is needed in the kitchen so Vexin can poison the food. Then we can wait for it to be served to the guards in the lounge, right? Maybe offer it to some of the guards in the hall. Big Steve might accept a drink, at least, if Malora offers to stand watch with him while he eats/drinks so he doesn't get in trouble.
Thoughts?

Ok let's see how it plays out. For your consideration, Thrick is watching his stew as it is his backside that will be kicked if it burns - so moving him away won't be too easy. You could try spike it using sleight of hand perhaps, or come up with some way to draw him away (which as suggested, will take a bit of effort - he's probably not wandering off for something minor)

Guess I miss-judged the value. I was aiming for enough money to make everyone interested, but not enough to draw suspicion.. oopsies.

With the guards distracted and soon called to dinner then hopefully mostly indisposed I can attempt some quick recon while attending to janitorial duties.
We know they have something silencing the prison thanks to our friendly cook.

Welp. This is likely going to end poorly.

Short of a straight up fight, I don't have any clear idea how to have handled this better, either in character or meta-gammed. I feel like we missed something important, but I have no clue what that would have been....
| Shifty |
You guys did pretty well.
All three salvage games had the parties all opt for the 'stew solution'.
Two of the other parties had one or more people who then intiated combat prior to any guards passing out from the stew (after the guards had eaten it, but before it took effect).
In your case, pretty solid so far, just missed the part where if you poison the main meal you might have to find a way to not be around by the time it is served (or have plausible deniability). Hence why you had that 15-minute window to come up with an exit strategy.
Straight up fights are probably the worst option though, these guys are actually quite capable, which is a polite change where normally its like tenpin bowling though mooks.

It may end up being me and Thrick awake. Which would be interesting to say the least. Haha. Vexin will at least learn to let more of his teamates onto a plan before executing it!
And yeah low level games tend to be shooting fish in a barrel. Ghouls are the only really tough enemies I have seen so far in my games...oh and those dang serpent statues from the last F&F.

Due to military obligations I am going to be on 24 hour shifts for at least the next two days where I will not be able to reliably post. Stepped away to get these messages posted.

You are right Vexin, at some point things will have to get a bit loose.
This trilogy of scenarios is actually quite fun, but in fairness the first time I went through it I felt it lacked a bit of oomph. However if you read it a few times and plumb the small tidbits the authors include (like the backstory with Thrick) you can tease out quite a flavourful and memorable romp. These scenarios are like a good red, you need to uncork them and let them air for a while to really bring out their fullness.
This one is a bit sandboxy, which can leave people a bit confused on how to proceed, but as long as everyone remains cognisant that this is a prison in a nation who has no qualms using Devils to get what they want and has even the most vicious Hellknight chapters as part of the local tapestry then everyone can enjoy the brooding menace and threat of Cheliax as a nation.
It's only when they Cheliax gets played for two-dimensional incompetent goofs I begin rolling MY eyes :p

I feel bad for Doran and Melora. I hate sitting out in a real life game- let alone a pbp where weeks might happen before they “wake up”. That was the biggest risk with the (admittedly metagamed) opportunity that present itself
Vexin Clast
|
I know that I, as a player, feel bad about it. I am sure Vexin would feel some remorse as well too but the thought of being held in this prison is more than enough to see Thrick as a merely Chelaxian under stress.
Also yeah I should have tried to wake them up but the unconscious status was seemingly vague when I checked it for remedies but I bet I buy smelling salts on my characters from now on. That and vigorously shake things anyways.

FYI: I am going to be travelling from now until April 15th. I will have a computer and some internet, but I doubt I will be able to post more than once a day. I will do my best to make sure that I giving detailed instructions/ideas so that everyone isn't waiting around for me all the time.

Judging by what that lady just said we may have found a new route.
She is either gonna murder me for thinking I am a Bellflower agent or help us. With my luck I am not sure which one.
Elemenar

I went back through the old posts (this thread and the abandoned one) to find out about the Bellflowers. It appears that the only info was in a high-level spoiler near the beginning that only briefly mentioned them. However, Vexin seems to know about them. Is this something we should all already know about?
| Shifty |
It was mentioned in the box text briefing at the start, and you had the option of asking Tamrin Creedence about it if you wanted to - so in a slight retcon (and because it is interesting Pathfinder Lore, especially around Andoran)...
What is the Bellflower Network?
“Cheliax loves keeping halfling slaves because they’re cheap to feed, work hard, and are easy on the eyes. Bellflowers believe that we halflings can do all that and more if we’re free, and the Network helps smuggle the enslaved to better, freer lands.”

I had just assumed Vexin knew about it from his backstory.
