Twitter and Torrag want to head outside to the temple plaza. What about the others?

![]() |

outside to the plaza sounds like it might be a good place to put our talents to best use.

![]() |

Torrag, you can drink the potion instead of using the charges. Using the d8s you rolled earlier, you will be back to full health.
You head back out of the temple to see the plaza in chaos. Bodies litter the wide flagstones of the plaza. Many are serpentfolk, some are monstrous or Azlanti, but more than a few are also of humanoids dressed in attires from present-day Golarion.
You hear the sounds of battle nearby, and head over to investigate, finding your way though the plaza lined with pictograph-covered pillars and larger-than-life statues of serpentfolk and snakes. You arrive to see a lone warrior facing off against two very animated serpentfolk statues with multiple runes engraved upon their surfaces. The warrior is wielding a broken greatsword and behind him lie another four prone bodies that he appears to be trying to guard. He sighs with relief when he sees you approaching, but the momentary distraction causes him not to notice the stone fist of one of the statues being swung at his face. He falls to the ground, unconscious, as the statues turn to see what had caught the warrior's attention.
They turn to see you.

Knowledge arcana to identify.

![]() |

Let's see, do I know these thing? Probably mindless, which sucks...
knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Questions:
1. Saves from high to low?
2. Resistances and immunities (or hardness? pretty sure they have construct traits?)
3. Special Defences?

![]() |

Know Arcana: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Special Attacks? AC? Vulnerabilities?

![]() |

Twitter and Torrag identify the constructs as graven guardians, special constructs usually tied to a particular faith and who will not attack a creature displaying iconography of its deity unless first attacked by said creature.
Twitter:
1. Ref high; Fort low, but construct
2. DR 5/adamantine; SR 16; Immunity to all mind-affecting effects; disease, death effects, necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, stunning, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, energy drain, nonlethal damage and any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless).
Torrag:
1. Weapons are evil-aligned and deal +1d6 damage to good targets. The dagger it holds has the keen and returning properties. It can cast haste on itself.
2. AC 20, touch 12, flat-footed 18
3. Adamantine bypasses its DR. Mindless, straightforward combatant.
4. You have 1 more question, so I will tell you that it has fast healing 2.

Yeah... construct traits. I hate construct traits.... If they have fast healing, we should focus fire on one of them at a time... At least all our acid splashes will ignore their SR and do damage easily...
Twitter readies an action to shoot acid at the first one that comes into range, favouring one that is already hurt by his allies.
attack roll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Ooo, now that's a good start.

Torrag moves toward the back of the party and readies an action to cast grease on the weapon of the northern construct after it moves 10' toward us. Reflex DC 17 or drop the weapon plus new save each time weapon is used. Lasts 6 minutes.

![]() |

"I have no adamantine. I couldn't afford the blanch. Sorry, I won't be able to do much to these things, if I can even hit them."

![]() |

No problem. I'll count that as a delay while you work out if there's anything you want to try.
Hakime holds her position while considering her options. Twitter and Torrag ready magical attacks.
The two graven guardians activate their haste abilities and then rush mindlessly forward to do battle. They are mindless, and so lack the capacity to realise that they are just giving Blan a free full attack.
As they run towards you, Torrag casts a spell to coat the lead guardian's dagger in grease.
ref: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
1d100 ⇒ 10
The dagger slips from its hand, and the mindless construct follows its programing to immediately stop and pick up its dagger (next turn). The other guardian keeps running forward, and Twitter shoots a spray of acid that catches it right in the neck. The acid eats through the stone easily.

One of the fallen pathfinders is now beginning to revive and thanks you for your rescue as she starts healing her allies with her wand. She barely has enough charges left to revive the biggest member of her party, and together they begin to carry their wounded to a safer location.
She points out that the Society will probably be interested in notes about the constructs you just destroyed, though they are more interested right now in getting to safety.
You may attempt an Appraise, Craft (sculptures or stonemasonry), Disable Device, Knowledge (arcana or engineering), Perception, Profession (architect, engineer, or miner), Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device check to make useful notes.
And then you can take a short break from your battles and heal up. You have no way of knowing this yet, but something big is about to happen...
