I'm not quite understanding your plan, Milton. Why are you acting to the Parasmans like we're still undead? I figured we would out ourselves to them so that they stop attacking us...
Milton Smithson
|
They've only attacked us once though. And I've warned them to stop.
Killing the mummy was murder, but we can kill those guys and not be guilty of any crimes.
We're here for two things: a book, rescue Pathfinders if possible.
Iranar Shaztub

I don't think Iranar is gonna be able to go along with you on that one. Just a heads-up... he's not gonna kill people of the "good" persuasion just because they misunderstood that we're not actually undead. :-P

Velidor is here for three things- book, pathfinders and living with his actions. He will concur with Iranar when the time comes. No offense to your Asmodeous faith, but that isn't Velidor's faith...

Milton being LN has a high regard for the law, and while working for the Society often involves a bit of lawbreaking, he tries to keep it to a minimum. He understands that there's murder-hobos like you lot within the society though, whose only methodology involves busting heads and taking people's stuff. He just doesn't subscribe to that policy.
With that said, he is more than able to bust some heads when the time comes.
I mean, what would happen if we were to get rounded up now for offing the mummy and these skeletons? We're guilty of murder, no doubt about it!
We could have offed those Pharasmans, and kept ourselves on Corvalos good side and such. Had an escort all the way to our destination, where we'd have been able to search to our heart's content. Now we're murderers in this land, and maybe a posse will be on our heels in time time.
Ahhhh well, one problem at a time, I suppose.
Now, hopefully the Pharasmans don't listen to me and they decide to bring the fight to us!

:-P fair enough. I appreciate that you're playing Milton as he should be played. If our characters butt heads, no issue there. As long as we cooperate in the end! :)

Did I forget to give the warning up front of the scenario that Milton can be an ass? My apologies!
Well, he can be, but luckily, I'm a pretty nice guy.
As an aside, I'm pretty sure we can smoke these Pharasmans pretty easily! One priest, and some acolytes? Then we can have some fun scaring the chattel and making them think we're gonna eat them!
How cool though that we got to team up with a mummy and his squad, if even for a short while?

Can we just talk?
I mean I can positive channel... You can talk (me too). I have scroll of deadwatch to try to convince the priest we are not undeath (in fact we will dectect as alive)
We can also just run.
Yeah, I like this to walk with the undeath. I had wish it was longer or it did not give us some moral dilem.
In a good way... I have break local law without hurting the mission.

Note that in this form, you will detect as an undead creature (such as with detect undead, but not with magic that reveals your true form, such as true seeing)
I'm betting deathwatch shows us as undead.
You guys are welcome to chat up the Pharasmans with your alternate plans.

I think you'd be right about that, Milton.
Edit: that was supposed to be about the deathwatch detecting you as undead.
The stat bonuses are not included in this effect because the scenario's special rules for the permanent transformation aren't exactly the same as Undead Anatomy.

No issues Milton. This is just the RPing of a NG naturalist and a LN Asmodean. Of course we wont see eye to eye. I think it is great.

lol, the LN Asmodean vs the NG hunter

usually i play Liberty's Edge characters or if I had brought my Paladin or undead hating Cleric instead this scene could have played out very differently.

Smite-on-sight characters are not recommended for this scenario, for that exact reason.

Luckily the Paladin's code of Asmodeus is a bit more pragmatic and reasonable.

Yup.

I look at the map. And i realised that my character is not in the center of the room (where i left it) did he been displaced because of the worm? I had more of the impression that the worm would take the center that why i fear, knowing Lamare, my character would be eaten.

Yes. When you're grappled by a creature with reach, you are automatically moved to an adjacent square.

Thanks... Ah lamare... This time, you will need to be ressurect. (And i have done bonekeep without diying!)

We're nearly done with this scenario (Yay!) so anyone with day job or other rolls should go ahead and do them now.

Day Job Hunters Lodge: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Velidor just bagged a 30 point barrister...

So, the secondary success conditions of this scenario have already been met, which were: accomplish two of the following three conditions: avoid Corvalos (or successfully talk their way out of the encounter), convince Kuryn Jexel to parley without killing any of the Pharasmin acolytes, or destroy Joktan’s Haunt. You successfully completed the second and third.
Joktan's spellbook has a total number of spell levels equal to 24, so it fulfills "Recover a spellbook that contains spells whose combined spell levels equals or exceeds three times your character level (minimum 9)" on the Dark Archive faction journal card, unless you have that one already, of course. The Testament of Geb counts for "Recover a named text found during the course of an adventure, if you want to check that one instead.
Grand Lodge can of course check one of the 'adventure somewhere other than Absalom' boxes. If you have fulfilled one of the others, such as completing both primary and secondary success conditions for a number of consecutive scenarios, I can note it on your chronicle if you'd like.
Liberty's Edge qualify for the goal of "Defy local law or tradition in a way that assists you and your allies without endangering the mission or threatening innocents." If you already have that checked, you may check one of the "Liberate one or more slaves, captives, or hostages during an adventure" goals, given that you helped destroy the mummy and his soldiers who would have certainly .
For Silver Crusade, since you did save Kuryn Jexel from a threat from the mummy and his followers, who were a bit stronger and could have given the priest a lot of trouble, so I'd say you can go ahead and check "Rescue a named NPC who is a divine spellcaster with a good-aligned deity or a named outsider with the good subtype." If you have that one checked already, the Ghoul Worm was CR 7, so counts for "Defeat an outsider that has the evil subtype or an undead creature whose Challenge Rating is at least equal to your character level."
I don't think we have anything for Sovereign Court, unless you have one of the ones such as having ranks in a skill equal to your character level.
I'll add a note about whichever goal you choose to complete on the Chronicle sheets, unless you'd prefer I didn't.
So on job checks so far, that's:
75 for Velidor
10 for Iranar
20 for Milton & Veilwar
Lamare or Elliot, either of you have a day job or downtime checks to make, such as for the faction goals?
