You do not know what the battery would do, but you do remember that it creates energy by drawing the ambient heat of the air around it. Who knows what might happen if it was exposed to a large heat source like the portals, or the gate (if it activates).

Tess moves to within 30' of the remaining mephit and uses her Slumber hex against it.
Will DC 18 to resist.

If the mephit makes its save vs. slumber
Psycho Mantis reaches out into the mephit's mind to tear it to pieces, but he does not bother bringing the full-force of his power to-bear.
I am undercasting Mind Thrust III as Mind Thrust II
Mind Thrust II: 5d8 ⇒ (3, 2, 7, 3, 5) = 20
DC 19 Will Save to half damage, damage is untyped
If the mephit falls asleep
Psycho Mantis swivels in place as he floats barely off the ground, attempting to deactivate the magic powering one of the portals purely with his own mental powers.

I just noticed I didn't kill Jethzerai with my attack, maybe I should have just CDG him.

![]() |

I would actually stabilize him if possible. The azer said there's a bounty on him.

![]() |

Oh Saranrae, I totally forgot! Maybe shout that out in character. . .

GM "The Fox" |

Some of the mephit's wounds begin to heal. It stands up and flies across the room.
Barth begins working to disable the controls.
@ Barth:This takes two consecutive full-round actions. This round was your first full-round action. You will roll at the end (or you can put your roll inside a spoiler tag the next time you get a chance to post, and I will open it at the end of your next turn). The Knowledge (engineering) check is 5 points lower DC than the Disable Device, but you may roll either. You get a +10 bonus for Technologist.
Jethzerai tries to stabilize.
stabilization: 1d20 + 4 - 17 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 17 = -5
But he dies.
The two active portals each gain a charge and begin pouring lava, which flows down the channel toward the gate.

Looking down at Jethzerai gurgling, "Ah there he goes, he was just havin' an extended death throe." Harmonious will turn to view the final Mephit.
Yelling out to it, "Just surrender! If we don't have to kill you we won't!"
After which Harmonious will run over to the Portal and attempt to activate the Cold Fission/Fusion Battery and suck some hot air out of that portal.

Well, glad it's dead or alive lol
Psycho Mantis's eyes open wide for a moment as the lava begins pouring through the portal. He floats away while also moving back into range of the mephit.
Could someone please move him six squares of movement to the east, avoiding the lava. On my iPad right now and can't
He presses his mental assault on the tiny creature of fire.

"Barth I think we got this"
Dimble starts working on the control panel as as well. His head and eyes quickly dart across the surface looking for clues to figure how to shut off the lava.

Psycho kills the last elemental in the room.

Tessara is up.

GM "The Fox" |

Actually, I'm going to call it. There was a chance that the still active portal could bring in a fire elemental, but I made the roll and it did not do so. :) That was the only remaining threat.
A moment later, Dimble finishes shutting down Portal #3. The lava flows to the gate in the south wall and charges it up, but without a constant flow of lava to power it, those charges quickly dissipate.
The Pathfinders have ended the threat of the Forge in the Red Redoubt, saving Absalom from interplanar volcanic destruction.
Barth and Dimble determine that they can extract the console’s backup memory drive. The memory drive contains information on the portal technology in this room, a larger schematic of the Forge level, and detailed records of power usage in the Red Redoubt during the fatal days leading up to Karamoss’s attempted destruction of the portals. Furthermore, the drive contains data illuminating many of the Machine Mage’s secret methods for creating robots.
Well done, everyone! Is there anything else you'd like to do down here in the Forge core before heading back up?

Psycho would like to search the salamander for anything interesting and I would also like to ask the azers how we can go about collecting this bounty

GM "The Fox" |

Barth and Dimble are able to identify the items on him.
Combat Gear grade I hemochem, portal control device, timeworn jetpack;
Other Gear spear, timeworn zero pistol, spellbook (contains all 0-level spells and ear-piercing scream, magic missile, technomancy, discharge, irradiate, recharge, technomancy), timeworn inertial dampening belt, timeworn veemod goggles (0 charges; worth 10 gp) with nonfunctional green veemod (worth 100 gp)
All of the tech items are in the Technology Guide and can be found on the PRD.
Collecting the bounty requires adventuring in the City of Brass on the Elemental Plane of Fire. It is a boon on the chronicle—which implies that there will be a future scenario in the City of Brass! :D

Psycho Mantis groans, his breathing mask accentuating the sound.
"This...is foolishness...the robot...is irrelevant...name it whatever...."

GM "The Fox" |

When you return from the Forge, Marw and the other mutant chokers guide you and the azers back to the lift and reluctantly thank you for your efforts while also urging you to leave.
Venture-Captain Shevala Iorae awaits you on the surface, too eager to hear your report to wait in the Grand Lodge. She is shocked to hear about Jethzerai’s plot and relieved that you found no evidence of a growing robot army.
Shevala laughs gleefully that you bring her artifacts from the Forge, especially the still-functioning equipment such as the Karamoss battery and the control console’s hard drive.
When you ask Shevala about using the Society’s resources to send some of the trapped outsiders home, Shevala contemplates the question, then nods and says, “It would certainly help make the Forge safer. I can’t promise anything, but I’ll see what I can do.” The azers nod acceptance at this.
After hearing your report, Shevala shakes her head in disbelief and congratulates you.
"You have all outshone yourselves today. I shudder to think what would have happened if you hadn’t been there to stop the Forge from self-destructing. These discoveries are fascinating. We suspected that Karamoss had attempted to destroy the tower when the siege turned against him, but I never realized he was insane enough to try to unleash a volcano on another plane against Absalom! Your actions today saved not just an incredible trove of scientific and historical data, but possibly all of Absalom as well."
THE END
Feel free to add any post-credits extra footage. ;)

I think they have to limit it a bit since there are simply so many games being run as part of the game day.
