With a strike from his scimitar Race kills the last dog. Meanwhile Shael retrieves her items.

When ready, the party continues toward the manor.

The Bloody Foyer

The front porch of the manor sports a stylized compass inlaid in the masonry, and a similar symbol graces the lintel above the open double doors. Within, the sound of clashing blades echoes off the marble floor. Suddenly, the sound of combat ceases with a gruesome thud, and the sound of a laughing man replaces the metallic din. The furniture in the foyer has been thrown about, and a growing pool of blood escapes from a crumpled corpse at the foot of the wide, carpeted stairs.

Be prepared when you enter.

Place yourself on the new map. It's a bit of a weird map now, but you'll notice the reason later.

A man stands laughing at the top of the stairs, an awkwardly aloof look on his mustachioed face. A woman stand in a pool of blood over a beheaded corpse, twirling her twin kukris around her nimble fingers. You recognize the woman as Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri, the leader of the Qadira faction. The head of the man she killed is obviously that of Baron Jacquo Dalsine, the leader of the Taldor faction.

"With my sister's death I'm done with this whole ‘shadow war for Absalom,’" Al-Jakri says as the party enters the manor. "I took my revenge in this duel. You can keep scouring the world for useless treasures and risking your lives for delusional fame and worthless fortunes if you like. And you, Chalfon, you're a coward to hide yourself upstairs while I fight your cousin!"

Al-Jakri spits on the corpse, then taps her left toe to her right heel, and vanishes. The man, apparently Chalfon Dalsine, continues to laugh maniacally at the top of the stairs.

@Jorus: You may still adjust your position if you want, but I placed you inside the building.

Steph, the map still has a grey bar, so we can't see the NPCs you're referring to. That's why we're standing there.

There's a reason why I'm still hiding a part of the map.

The stairs begin 30 feet west of Mort's position. I placed Chalfon on the map so you have an idea how far away he is.

Despite not knowing much about the topic, Mort realizes Chalfon let his own cousin get killed by the leader of another faction to play two fations out against each other. Chalfon's clearly out to destroy the Pathfinder Society, and is a major threat to the Society's future if not dealt with.

The man doesn't react to Chilly, and continues to laugh instead.

Since this man is clearly a threat to the society and let someone die, I believe I am within my duties to end his life. So, I'm going to shoot him. If that's some violation I'm unaware of, then ignore this post (why I put all of this in a spoiler to you). Not like I'm going to hit anything anyway with the way I've been rolling.

Chalfon continues to laugh. Shael shoots a bolt, and Mary shoots two arrows. The arrows Mary shoots both miss, but Shael's bolt is headed for Chalfon's chest. The bolt then passes right through the man.

The Chalfon at the top of the stairs fades away while another one appears right next to Oric. Chalfon's rapier, lightning flashing around it, pierces Oric and drops him.

Seriously, I need to practice my aim, it's terrible. Mary, seeing the horror of Oric falling, fires two more arrows into the real Chalfon. Mary has precise shot feat to avoid -4 penalty.

"You're a dead man Chalfon." Her voice carried every bit of malice she held for those who threatened the society. Seeing Oric down was regrettable but she didn't have time to save him yet. She falls back, around a table and some chairs before looking at Chalfon and grinning diabolically. She brings her hands together and for a moment chains form around her hands and arms, a fiery hue surrounds her as she pulls her hands apart. With her hands spread apart the chains form a twisted version of a cats cradle which she twists further as she finishes her casting. She lobs the chains past Chalfon, slamming into the wall behind him and to the left and exploding into dozens of strands of Webbing.

Shael's web explodes against the wall, losing some of its 20-foot raius when the many strands form a web. Still the web succesfully manages to capture Chalfon in it, and luckily not the bleeding and unconscious Oric.

Not bothering to taunt the man, a Race concentrates on bringing his weapons to target.


Chilly claws his way past a table and manages to land a hit on Chalfon. When Race attacks Chalfon both his scimitar and shield miss.

Chalfon attacks Chilly with his rapier, moving the weapon as if he has extra insight in Chilly's movements. A spark flashes around the rapier blade, and the blade barely misses Chilly's head. Chilly's hair stands on end from the electricity on the blade.

The rapier moves for Chilly's abdomen next, and this time the blade connects. Chalfon inflicts a deep cut, stabbing Chilly through a weak spot in his armor.

Chalfon stabs Chilly just before getting hit in the face with a snowball. As his hate filled eyes turn to the arcanist once more she stares back levelly. "Your all talk and no trowsers Dalsine..." With that she starts rubbing her fingertips together and a coating of acid starts to form as she begins to ready her next spell. "I am going to enjoy ruining that face of yours." Her rage was apparent, Musello's death hit her hard in the stomach and today she would unleash all the terror that she held back from her natural heritage as the spawn of Kyton devils that enjoyed torturing their victims...

MA: 5ft step back

She continues to gain space between her and Dalsine as she prepares to peper him with spells from afar...

I forgot this guy attacks with Weapon Finesse, meaning his attack rolls should've been 2 lower: -4 Dex, because he's grappled.

After missing the attack, chalfon tries to stab Chilly with the rapier again. Shael's web lowers Chalfon's accuracy, and the rapier doesn't inflict any damage to Chilly.

Mary's arrows both go wide, and she curses her bad luck. Race decides to aid Chilly on his next attack.

Shael, infuriated by the news of muesello's death, shoots a snowball that hits Chalfon in the chest. "Argh! Darn you, demon!"

Chilly attacks Chalfon with two daggers. The first attack makes up for the second, which misses, and pierces Chalfon's armor. Chalfon spits up some blood when his stomach's pierced, and a steady flow of blood from the wound covers the floor around him.

Jorus throws a chakram at Chalfon, and the weapon slashes Chalfon's throat open. Chalfon falls backward with a spray of blood erupting from his neck. He doesn't get up anymore.

When Chalfon Dalsine goes slack in her webs, Shael throws her head back and laughs. "All talk."

She makes her way back towards Dalsine, waving her hand and dismissing the webs with ease. Sending them back to the nether realms she had summoned them from and allowing Dalsines corpse to slap to the floor. Watchig quietly as someone else searches his corpse. "Someone should really help Oric, he's bleeding all over the floor..." She says this in her normal manner, having recovered her focus and once more banishing the sadistic nature she normally kept tightly controlled.

Upon seeing it, she snatches up Dalsines component pouch and spellbook a broad smirk lighting up her features. "This is all I need, a fair memento. Now to find... Musello's effects..."

Realizing she had no hand in healing people she turned her attention back to searching the premises for Musello's body, personal effects and anything else pathfinder related.

Shael finds Muesello’s items that were taken during the raid, successfully completing the mission given to them by the venture-captain. With these key pieces of evidence missing, the Pathfinder Society can no longer be linked to the Dawnflower Blossoms. Shael also picks up the potion of cure moderate wounds from Chalfon's body, and pours it into Oric's mouth. Oric's still unconscious, but after some more time's passed he opens his eyes again.

Further exploration of the Dalsine home uncovers Chalfon’s diary, which can fill in any of his remaining background information and serve as evidence to absolve the party of any guilt in Baron Jacquo’s death or the other recent conflicts in Oppara.

As for the Shadow Lodge plot to bring the conflict within the Society’s factions to all-out war, both Qadira and Taldor factions recognize that their respective heads were manipulated by the Shadow Lodge, and the Grand Lodge helps smooth things over, ensuring that all members of the Pathfinder Society maintain a level of cooperation necessary to end the Shadow Lodge threat once and for all.

You may continue to roleplay for a bit, and make sure to make your Day Job roll if you can! :)

Lingering Resonance: A recent encounter with an enemy spellcaster left your body strangely receptive to spell effects. At the beginning of a scenario, you may announce that you are using this boon. The next time that you fail a saving throw against any spell or spell-like ability from an enemy spellcaster, have your GM write the name of the spell below. Choose one of the following benefits, and cross the other off your Chronicle sheet.

• When you cast the listed spell, you may increase the DC of the saving throw by 2.

• When you roll a saving throw against the listed spell, you gain a +4 bonus on the save.

You may use this bonus once for free, after which you should check the box below; each additional use of the selected benefit costs 1 Prestige Point.

Boon 2:

Long Distance Support: You heard the Decemvirate’s call to arms as the Fifth Crusade began, but for whatever reason the society did not send you to the front lines immediately. You may nonetheless send extra supplies to aid your fellow Pathfinders. At the end of any scenario that does not take place in Mendev or the Worldwound, you may choose to spend 1 Prestige Point to send a cache of necessary supplies north to aid the war effort. On a line below, have your GM record where the scenario took place and initial the entry. Upon filling all five lines, you gain two benefits.

First, you gain a Mendevian Commendation for your tireless efforts to supply the crusade. A Mendevian Commendation grants you a cumulative +1 bonus on Charisma-based skill checks to influence Mendevian Crusaders (maximum +3).

Second, as a swift action while fighting a creature with the demon subtype or bearing an unholy symbol of a demon lord, you may grant all allies that you can see within 60 feet a +2 circumstance bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws against those creatures for one minute. When you use this second ability, cross it off your Chronicle sheet.

Boon 3:

Mendevian Weapon Training: Queen Galfrey of Mendev understands both that poorly equipped crusaders are of little use to the ongoing war against demonkind and that an inadequately trained crusader cannot make effective use of good equipment. As a result, those who dedicate themselves to the Fifth Crusade have access to training and equipment that might not otherwise be available. When you would be permitted a Day Job check, you may instead spend 4 Prestige Points to receive intensive training with a specific weapon or suit of armor. You receive a masterwork version of the weapon or armor, and you gain proficiency in that specific weapon or armor (but not others of its type). If you are already proficient with the selected armor or weapon, you instead gain a +2 bonus to CMD against disarm and sunder combat maneuvers targeting the chosen item.

Choose the weapon or armor from the following list: breastplate, glaive, heavy shield, or longsword.

Boon 4:

Moment of Glory: Whether it is by fate, fortune, or circumstance, you are able to tap into a hidden reserve of power at just the right moment to perform a truly extraordinary feat. By activating this boon as a free action, you become a mythic character (1st mythic tier) for 3 rounds. If you fall unconscious due to hit point loss during this time, you automatically stabilize without needing to attempt a Constitution check. In addition, once before this effect ends, you may use the surge mythic ability to increase any d20 roll you just made by rolling 1d6 and adding it to the result. Using the surge is an immediate action taken after the result of the original roll is revealed. This can change the outcome of the roll.

When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronicle sheet; however, anytime you successfully complete (earning the maximum possible number of Prestige Points) a scenario that using the “hard mode” option, you may have the GM sign this boon. You may use this boon one additional time for each such signature you receive.
