Opening discussion thread.

Welcome everyone!

Since we are now complete, do we have any new players? Or are there any questions about the game we're going to run?

I know little about the event, to be honest. Will it be paced like one of the previous game day adventures?

So where is everyone from?

I'm from Minneapolis Minnesota, and this is my first PbP run... It should be fun!

I'm from northwest Indiana, up near Chicago/Lake Michigan.

I believe it will be roughly the same. We officially start on the 27th but I may open the gameplay thread early to let you get to know each other. On the 28 the game will really start, we then move to the real part of the story. The game will run for 45 days or shorter.

I'm from the Netherlands. Looking at where you're all from the time zone might slow things down a little. I'm not really fond of posting during the night ;P I Mostly post in the morning and evening, your night and afternoon.

@Syndra I hope you will enjoy your first PbP! If you don't know something or aren't sure about something please ask!

I've already informed our lovely GM, but wanted to share with the rest of the team. I'm going to be on vacation from the 20th to the 27th. Yes I will be back and posting on the 27th so no worries. However I will be quite quiet before we start.

I'll by the way give my token a colored border on the maps, to distinguish it from Mykel's token. First time playing in a game with someone who uses the same picture, but it was bound to happen eventually!

i'm still not sure if the character i wanted to play will be available for the start of this..might have to use a new toon...and if i use Mykel, I will change my avatar...no big deal...just to avoid confusion...

And almost forgot, I'm from Canada...2 hrs east of Toronto...

I've added two links to the campaign info, one with the gameday announcements and one with status updates and a map. When the game starts we'll be using those two pages to guide the game.

As a heads up, I still don't have the documents necessary to start the game. The staff knows this and is busy with fixing the problem. I hope we'll be able to start in time...

For the purpose of our "Aid Token", what is considered an encounter?

An encounter is a fight, a confrontation with enemies. What you are about to enter is an encounter.

@Everyone It was mentioned in my recruitment page as well as in the overseer thread that at least one post per day is necessary. The time is really limited and a post per day is really needed to finish this game in time. Per section there is at least a fight and a research part. The first part is only roughly 5-6 days. A full day passed and only two people have responded to the combat encounter post...

I didn't start combat yet so you could state your actions before going inside, but I see that caused some confusion. I've started combat now so you can post.

Sorry for the delay. I had some problems with my internet connection, but now it's fixed.

Do we have the option of botting if people are not posting, or dropping them if they haven't even checked in? I don't mean to be an ass, but if we are time limited (which we are), we have to have a way to move forward when there are people lagging....

@GM Dinuci - Is it ok to roll init and act in combat? As a "fixer", it seems plausible that he was hidden, observing, until the combat triggered the need to step in and assist?

@Syndra I will ask you guys to bot someone if the need arises. For now I've just let the two stare at the ceiling since it was the first round of combat and I don't know what their tactics are.
Not posting within 24 hours of my post will result in a bot. A week absence without upfront notice will result in being removed from the game.

@Roscoe I've added you in combat.

Just a note, Falshin will always look for unattended objects/debris in whatever location he is in during combat before utilizing his own ammo (deck of cards).

Also, I will be out all day tomorrow with the wife and boy so I do not know what my posting ability will be. If you need to bot Falshin to keep things moving, he will move into a better position to attack (no ally providing Soft Cover).

What kind of debris? Small rocks and the like?

I also want to say I'm really glad that the game is now fully running at a good pace! I was really worried that we might be short a person or that the pace wouldn't pick up.

Pretty much anything that's close by and under 5 lbs. Most likely rocks, branches, etc.

I'll try and keep it in mind.

I think that there are a lot of options on the board right now. I have a heal check right now at 19, plus Jimmy and I have infernal healing wand charges, Verhaal has a wand of CLW, and we have at least one potion with water in it. Even though nobody has the skill trained well (Doran is a +5), there is always the possibility of a good roll, which I think we should attempt first before having you use your Kinetic Healer. Personally I think we should wait to see how we've done so far and then if all else fails you can use your kinetic healing.

And I'm pretty sure that our GM is asleep right now...

Ha Ha Ha. We all have those days, just brush it off as you were roll playing it. :)

Falshin has the best Heal skill in the group, I just failed my roll.... Sounds good on holding off on K healer.

I was, as you guessed, very much asleep ;P

I have to testify at a bench trial in a few hours, so likely won't be able to post today. Feel free to bot Falshin if need be.

Metagaming from the map, I don't suppose there's a secret door to the sewers in the current room?

Good question. My guess is possibly, but I think we need to clear the hallway either way. I'm guessing that we are heading to the temple proper.

What does it mean when an area is controlled. According to my understanding of the map, the next area that we would move into is the temple play, but that area is already under control. So do we move into the temple interior, or can we still work our way through the temple plaza?
