Year of Boundless Wonder

Nope, not divine caster. Leave you to figure it out when you DM this. Never got round to using her distinctive abilities. :)
Feuerseele, assume that you have recovered 10 hp from the infernal healing. The conversations would likely have taken more than a minute.

Turning to the Selima, Darna replies with some sarcasm in her vouce, "Lady, last I've heard, the Wounded Wisp is a public tavern free for all to patronise. I myself have been there a number of times. Heryn serves a fine ale in the house. Much as I know she appreciates the patronage of the members of your fine Society, I doubt she would take kindly to be declared a Pathfinder establishment."

She seems to realise that she might be pushing things too far if she wishes her team to leave with their collective hides, and continues in a more serious tone, "Our Patrons deemed us too lowly to share the details of this operation, beyond when and where to locate you. How much details did your Venture Captains share with you when you sent on this runaround? But I do know that your encounter in the cellar became barroom gossip shortly after you left. Beyond this, perhaps you should ask your Venture Captain to discuss this ... incident... with our Gold Badge. Really, we are just pawns in their games." Slowly reaching into her pouch in a non-threatening manner, she withdraws what appears to be a small bronze badge in a shape of a shield. She tosses it to you, and you see on it an emblem of 3 intertwined golden asps. (see handouts) "You can pass this on to your superiors, if you need proof."

Darna glared at both Luurg and Warden Jax. "And I suppose you have not taken anything that does not belong to you?" Not realising how true her statement was (as you recall the pilfering committed at Arkath's tomb), she continues bitterly, "It's a dog eat dog world. You triumphed now only because you are stronger." Turning to the robed man, she laments, "Looks like we need to pay our way out this, Teegan."

Teegan and Darna empty their pockets and leave their gear behind. If you do not stop then, they similarly do the same for the unconscious Shelly and Bobbi. All in all, you estimate the total value comes up to about 105 gp for each of you.

"Now, may we go?"

Luurg nods as he takes their valuables and gives them a quick look over to estimate their value. Then smiles and nods. He'll then hand them each back a gold piece. "Here, can't at least leave you's with some beer monies."

After quickly stowing his share of the spoils he rubs his belly, which has likely returned to its familiar bulk. "We ready to go now?"

"Keep it!" Darna scowls and turns away in a flourish. Together with Teegan, they gather up their still unconscious comrades (with some difficulty for Bobbi) and stagger their way out of the Shine. Just before they leave though, a calmer Darna turns to Raevin and coyly remarks, "You know, if everyone in your Society are lookers like you, who knows, I might take you up on your offer. Or you might want to look me up in the Aspis. They offer fine coin for work." Without waiting for a reply, she turns and strides out.

---

You gather up the loot and make your way back to the Grand Lodge. Unlike earlier, the streets are starting to get crowded again with people returning from the Starstone Cathedral. Talk on the street is primarily on Sir Reinhart's failure at the Test of the Starstone, many clearly still horrified by his attempt to vault the chasm on horseback, which ended with both him and the unfortunate mount falling into oblivion.

Back at the Grand Lodge, you find Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng in the sitting room. He has pulled an easy chair up by the fireplace and you find him lounging back with his bare feet practically inches from the roaring fire. He gets up and strides to you as soon as he sees you enter.

"That you took more than half a day to return with Heryn's wine suggests that you encountered some unexpected adventures. Come, share with an old man your stories for today!" Dreng beams at you.

As you describe to him the happenings of the day, Dreng's beaming smile gets wider and wider, first in anticipation, then in excitement, and finally in pride. He takes from you the stack of Eylysia's notes and the Aspis badge.

"Well done, my fellow Pathfinder!" he sings out in praise. "I had long suspected Selmius of hiding something in his beloved tavern but little did I suspect it would lead to the rumored notes of Eylysia!" Fingering the bronze badge, he adds on gleefully, "And you took down the Aspis a peg or two in the process! I'll enjoy rubbing this in their faces the next time we meet!"

Flipping through the papers, he mutters excitely, "This appears to be in some form of encrypted Azlanti. Will take us years to decipher everything!"

He then turns back to you. "As new Pathfinder, you have performed beyond expectations. Luurg, Raevin, Warden Jax, Feuerseele and Ekanta, I'll be speaking with Kreighton Shaine, the Master of Scrolls, to expedite your Confirmation. And Selima, you can be expecting more assignments soon. Good job! Please now, go have a well-deserved rest! Tell Heryn to put your drinks today on my tab!" He then turns back and starts scanning through the papers.

As you reach the door though, he suddenly calls you back. "Wait. Eylysia left behind a letter, in Azlanti but unencrypted. You might want to hear this." He then recites it to you.

To you who are now reading this,

I trust you are members of the Pathfinder Society, for the clues I have laid throughout the city would have only been uncovered by those familiar with its workings. If I was in error though, I can only ask for your assistance not to disturb the rest of the room, and to deliver this note to the Grand Lodge. The gem I have placed here would be sufficient compensation, I hope.

Within this room are numerous findings that I have put together from my years of travels and exploration. Findings that I did not report to the Pathfinder Society. That I have not done so would be deeply frowned upon by many Society members, and indeed a number suspects me of hoarding my discoveries. Including my dear old friend Selmius. I can only reiterate what I have been putting forth on numerous occasions. Uncovering of knowledge is a noble goal, and is an endeavour that I have dedicated my life to in the Pathfinder Society. However, I stand firm that some knowledge must remain secrets, at least for a time, as their uncovering would lead to untold damage to innocents. Herein are information that could topple kingdoms, disgrace the honored and disillusion the faithful. As such, I keep these secreted away here, in the hopes that they only come to light generations in the future. When the ones implicated have passed. When such information are no longer damning but would be mere curiosities.

If my attempts to hide them long enough are unsuccessful, I can only beseech you to look through the documents in fine detail first before submitting them. And I can only look to your conscience to decide whether releasing these information would do more harm than good.

And Selmius, I am truly sorry that my acts have driven a wedge into our friendship. With your untimely demise, I have lost the chance to explain my actions, and so I lay it down in this letter. I know you would never have agreed with my actions, so I can only seek your understanding. May you rest in peace.
- Eylysia, 4412

Dreng sighs deeply. "Yes, indeed. Knowledge can be dangerous in the wrong hands. And who knows if ours are the right ones. But with almost four hundred years from when Eylysia hid these away, I trust that the time is now right for them to come to light. Since you were instrumental into turning these up, I'll keep you informed if we find anything of interest."

He turns back to his papers, but suddenly looks up as if remembering something. "But wait! Where's my wine?"

Great job! You've completed the primary success condition by uncovering Eylysia’s records and returning them to the Grand Lodge. You've also completed the secondary success condition by completing not just three but all of the following objectives to impress Dreng: befriend at least two of the four named allies in the Wounded Wisp tavern; defeat the creatures in the cellar without the direct intervention of any NPCs; retrieve the Pathfinder’s coin without using violence; avoid killing Hadriana; and avoid inflicting significant property damage to Fimbrik's house. So 2 PPs!

Luurg stands stoically while Bossman addresses the group. His left hand resting comfortably on his belly, trying to muffle the gurgles and groans beginning to echo their way to the surface. His eyes gleam at the declaration of 'free drinks for the rest of the day'. I hope the twins are still there!

I knew there was a reason I didn't throw any bombs in that house!

"That bottle of wine will be hard pressed to remove from it's shelf. But then... I think you knew that." She says with a mischievous wink. "I'm sure Heryn can recommend a replacement though."

Selima was eager to return to The Wounded Wisp and tell Janira all about their adventure. She expected this was one of the few times she would be able to impress the halfling with a story she had not already heard!

"Let's hurry back. Thirsty is overdue for another steak and he definitely deserves it! The tiger's stomach growls in echo of her sentiment.

Luurg will offer to head over with Selima and Thirsty. "I'm ready to go when you are pretty lady and Mr Kitty. I'll get the first round of drinks!"

He then goes to ruffle Thirsty's hair. "Do you like milk Mr Kitty? I bet we can get some milk for you.. Or maybe some guava juice? Good for your fur and teeth! Mmmmhmmm"
