Note to self: I got to start wearing my gas mask more often when working with strange fumes. I've seen the strangest things today.
Caranthir Silverhand
|
"Careful, everyone! That mist is created by a spell to obscure whatever is in that alley! This is an ambush!" Caranthir warns his companions.
Sir Dydimus
|
Ha! What fool dares ambush Sir Dydimus and his fellow pathfinders!?
Alek Stormcrow
|
Alek quickly unslings his shield and grabs his axe, looking around. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 He eyeballs the mist, then looks down at his companion... "Cinder, seek! Go get 'em boy!" The wolf lets out a howl and starts to sniff the air, seeking the scents for anything living within the mists, approaching it cautiously...
Survival?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Can't edit the map... So Cinderpaw will approach the edge of the mist and see if he can smell anything hiding in it. Also, since Alek doesn't have Quick Draw, he's burning two movement actions to draw his shield and axe.
Alek Stormcrow
|
Oh, sure!
Cindewpaw lets out a howler as he sniffs out a target within the mists and snaps at his target with a fierce growl! Alek hears his comrade's howl and yells to his companions. "He's found something, get in there!"
Tangling Attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Free Trip Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Bite: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 74
If the bite is successful, then the target gains the Entangled condition. Clearly the trip attempt was not successful lol!
GM Engleaktig

Cinderpaw does some damage.
Ledford attacks. Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 And misses.
Deandre takes a 5-foot-step. Being a bit of a psycho, she channels negative energy. 1d6 ⇒ 6
Will saves:
Alek: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Caranthir: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Dydimus: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
Opal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Van: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Everyone, except Caranthir, takes 6 HP of damage. Caranthir takes 3.
Dydimus, you're up.
This is round 1.
Alek Stormcrow
|
I'll throw Cinderpaw's Will save in the mix as well. Also... where would Ledford currently be in reference to Cinderpaw?
Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Well... I'm not sure if that succeeds or not... So I'll wait to see on whether to take off 6 or 3 HP from Cinder. Updating Alek's HP now.
Van Potter
|
Unless she has the Selective Channeling Feat, I believe her allies would also take the damage from the negative channeling.
Opal-Alchy
|
Not that it matters for *this* will save, but I get a +2 for enchantments and spell resists, I have added that now to the top line).
Sir Dydimus
|
Alek, call Cinderpaw back! We need to draw the fight out of that fog. calls Sir Dydimus as he draws a wand and heals himself.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Just realized I never healed my self since the first encounter So I was at 0hp! Anyway we could retcon that since we kind of jumped straight here after the rat's were defeated? I was down 1/2 hp at that point. I would have probably had used at least one charge of my wand
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 that would have brought me to full so I would have only be down 1 now.
Caranthir Silverhand
|
With no visible targets, Caranthir heeds Dydimus' call to fall back. He moves back in the alley and readies an attack against the first enemy he sees.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 for damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Engleaktig
|
Dydimud seems much healthier now, thanks to retroactive healing. ;-)
Halli laughs gleefully, even as her own ally injures her.
She walks up 1d20 ⇒ 13. She successfully makes a concentration check and 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12, 1d100 ⇒ 14 her acid splash misses Cinderpaw!
Caranthir moves back and readies.
Van, you're up!
This is round 1.
Opal-Alchy
|
If Sir Dydimus wants to be sharing with that healy wand, I bet those of us that can't heal ourselves would be really appreciative.
Sir Dydimus
|
Comrades take my wand, heal yourself!
Be my guest
Opal-Alchy
|
I said earlier I was going to take my extract, but instead I'll move to Dydimus and heal with his wand.
Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Is the mist dissipating so we can see them now?
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Hmmm...I think we either all need to fall back to pull them out of the mist, or all go in. I'll keep holding my shot for now, I guess.
Alek Stormcrow
|
Sorry guys if we were waiting on me, busy day at work!
Cinderpaw yelps as the strange energies assail him and he snarls as enemies behind to surround him. He snaps at the woman who threw the strange liquid that made his nose burn!
Tangling Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Attack: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 18
He then hears his master's voice calling to him and reluctantly out of the mists!
Cinderpaw uses Surprising Shift to avoid AoO and then runs back towards Alek, out of the mist.
Alek hears Cindewpaw let out a yelp and the snarling from the mists, his initial instinct is to charge in; however, the others seem more interested in drawing out their enemies. "Cinderpaw, Come!" He lets out a sigh when he sees his friend come charging out of the fog. Alek then falls back a few steps and casts a healing spell upon himself...
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Sir Dydimus
|
I think Caranthir was the only one with a readied action:
Attack vs. AC 26 for 3 damage.
So is that as far as Ledford moves?
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the ally up with our Pathfinder dead!
Cries Sir Dydimus with such passion as to quicken his allies' blood!
Standard Action to Inspire Courage:
+1 Attack, Damage, and saves vs Fear.
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Caranthir's carefully aimed arrow wings the man coming out of the midst.
"Make them come to us!" he shouts.
Yes, my readied action was as Dydimus said. So that puts me right after Ledford in initiative, right?
Sir Dydimus
|
Right before.
GM Engleaktig
|
No, Ledford doesn't stop there. :-( I stopped him, in case you brought him down.
Ledford moves until he reaches his first viable target, sustaining 3 HP of damage in the process. He seems very, very angry.
Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Yikes!
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Whew!
damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Ouch!
Somebody heal Dydimus quick! He's 5 rounds away from death!!!
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Ouch! Lucky that wasn't a confirmed crit or he's be dead for sure! I just went, so hopefully someone else can heal him!
Sir Dydimus
|
YIKES! indeed!
stabilize DC 15: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 -1hp
I was at 9/10 when hit (I had forgotten to update my stats from the reto healing) so I'm only at -6 so 8 rounds away from death.
Opal-Alchy
|
If Opal still has his wand, she can use it on him on her turn. I didn't *technically* say I gave it back after I used it.
Of course then I will 5-step away from Ledford.
Sir Dydimus
|
I didn't have an action to take it back so its still yours I think.
Opal-Alchy
|
I think Ledford went which triggered Caranthir's action, now Deandre goes before Dydimus (who is technically down and can't do anything) then Halli, then Van, after that Larkin, then I can go and heal Dydimus.
GM Engleaktig
|
Yep. It's the psycho's turn. Deandre moves; she channels negative energy, laughing maniacally. 1d6 ⇒ 6
OUCH! Sorry, guys. :-(
Will saves:
Alek: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7, Take 6 HP of damage
Cinderpaw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5, Take 6 HP of damage
Caranthir: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7, Take 6 HP of damage
Dydimus: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16, Take 3 HP of damage
Opal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12, Take 3 HP of damage
Van: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11, Take 3 HP of damage
Who among the party is still conscious? You hear two thuds in the mist as Halli and Larkin go down from Deandre's negative energy. Ledford, though hurt, is still ready to swing his greataxe.
The party is up next. Then Ledford and Deandre again. I'm pretty sure you know what they're going to do...
Alek Stormcrow
|
And of course... You can't roll a 1 on either of those channels!!!! Just has to be a 6 both times. Thank goodness Alek healed himself lol.
So basically it's down to Opal, Alek, and Cinder... By my calculations everyone else is unconscious. So we need Opal's Round 2 actions... Burn those bastards!
Sir Dydimus
|
Do it Opal, Bomb the little devil, Sir Dydimus is willing to sacrifice himself for the team.
Alek Stormcrow
|
I'm going to hold on my post until Opal posts, since technically she goes before me anyway.
Opal-Alchy
|
Okay. If I throw a bomb at an unoccupied square, I think the DC is 5, and since I have a +4 to attack, there is no way I won't hit the 5. That gives minimum damage to those in the vicinity. And the minimum splash damage from a bomb is 4. Can I aim at the building so it splashes to Ledford and Deandre and doesn't hit Dydimus? If I aim at Deandre and splash to Ledford it will splash to and dead kill Dydimus. Or, will it not splash to Dydimus since he is around a hard corner from Deandre? Because if I target her directly, I have a chance at doing more damage to her.
Sir Dydimus
|
I think I would still get splashed but I would get a bonus on my reflex save.
Do I get a reflex save? I'm pretty sure that is one of those grey areas. I think I read somewhere that I get one but I take -5 for being at 0 Dex.
Sir Dydimus
|
i should be at 2 hp...I made my first save vs the channel.
THEN SHOOT HIM!
