Caranthir Silverhand
|
Caranthir ignores all the innuendo flying around, and instead aims directly at the creature.
Not sure if you want initiative, or if I should let an arrow fly...
GM Engleaktig
|
It wasn't threatening the party. In fact, it was ignoring you all. But, I'm happy to enter initiative. :-)
Alek: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Caranthir: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Dydimus: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Opal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Van: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Misbehaving Servant: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Caranthir lets an arrow fly: MW Comp Longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13. He strikes true! Silver Arrow Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5. The tiny creature looks up, bat-like wings and a whipping scorpion-like tail lash behind this red-skinned being.
Van and Dydimus may also go before it acts/reacts.

Currently, I'm on my phone, so I cannot access the map. If someone can move Van's icon, I'd appreciate it.
Van moves into range and to cast Color Spray on the creature. DC 15 Will if it's not immune. If I need to roll against SR please roll it for me. Only moving close enough to get the creature in range, he will not move any closer. If the creature is too far away to catch in the spell, Van will just move into the room.
Sir Dydimus
|
Aha! Your days are numbered foul creature! I shall send you back to the Abyss!
Sir Dydimus bravely charges forward swinging his rapier wildly.
Have at thee!
Rapier w/ Arcane Strike
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
threat!
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM Engleaktig

Dydimus courageously steps up to the tiny creature and stabs it with his rapier. Though he strikes true, it seems to have no effect on the being.
____________________________________________________________
It takes a 5-foot-step to be in the arcane duelist's square. (It's tiny.) And it lashes out at the halfling with its tail. ( Sting!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 , Ouch!: 1d4 ⇒ 1 )
Dydimus takes 1 HP of damage, and he starts to feel a bit woozy. ( Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 ) Thankfully, the stalwart Silver Crusader shakes it off.

Opal throws a dagger at the tiny, angry creature and misses.

Attack of opportunity as it enters my square?
Rapier w/ Arcane Strike:
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Threat!
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Ha! I'm on Fire I just can't do enough to damage it!
Sir Dydimus Screeches in pain as the tiny creature stings him but continues the attack and calls out to Alek, Move up and get ready to hit this demon while I distract it!. Once Alek moves into position the halfling takes a 5 ft step back, away from the door, and swings his rapier menacingly at the creature.
Free Action: 5ft Step
Standard Action: Aid Another Attack w/ rapier
Attack AC 10: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Fumble Threat! not that it matters :)
Alek,
If you move up and Ready you at least get a +2 from Flank.
Alek Stormcrow

Unfortunately I can't make it all the way in there to flank and ready my weapons given how far back Alek is in the other room, but I will get as far as I can!
Alek sees Caranthir suddenly loose an arrow into the room at the servant and he immediately draws his shield and battleaxe before making his way into the room. Cinderpaw senses Alek's anxiety and follows behind wearily, fur standing up and his fangs slightly bared.
Until given an attack notice, I'm guessing Cinderpaw would simply follow Alek into the room and keep at his side? This is my first character with an Animal Companion and I'm not sure how some GMs handle them lol. If he simply follows, then I'm thinking Cinderpaw would end his movement in the square to the northwest of Alek.
Van Potter
|
"I hope this next trick works." Van says with an amused expression as he steps 5' to the southwest. Exploiting his arcane understanding of magic, he then creates a lightning lance to throw at the creature.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Electric Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1 Arcane Reservoir point spent. There's other stuff that would happen if it that hit, but it clearly didn't. :)
If Van had to more than 5' to shoot the target without cover, feel free to move him as necessary up to 20'

So... I'm not really sure how I missed all the posts here, but if we are waiting on me and Cinder, I am very sorry guys!! Cinderpaw should still get in an attack on little imp-thing... sorry, long weekend.
Alek stares at the strange little creature that had been flinging items around. He points at it with his battleaxe and directs Cinderpaw to attack. "Cinder, flank!"
Cindewpaw suddenly shifts into position across from Sir Dydimus, baring his teeth and growling at the strange little creature before lashing out at it!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12
Cinderpaw uses Surprise Shift to get into flanking position with Dydimus. He gets a free trip attack w/out provoking an AoO if he hits with his primary attack... but I don't think the trip succeeds lol.

Cinderpaw uses Surprise Shift to get into flanking position with Dydimus. He gets a free trip attack w/out provoking an AoO if he hits with his primary attack... but I don't think the trip succeeds lol.
Shift is unnecessary since the imp is tiny. Cinderpaw can simpy walk around it.
The hunter's animal companion takes a bit out of the creature, but it somehow manages to avoid most of the damage.
____________________________________________________________
Since Caranthir hasn't posted, I'll assume he fires another silver arrow after moving where there's no cover.
Caranthir's Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 4 = 10
Unfortunately, it's a miss.
____________________________________________________________
The misbehaving servant moves into Cinderpaw's square to retaliate. But it provokes an AoO from the animal.
Cinderpaw's Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The wolf takes another bite out of it, but it still stings the wolf.
Misbehaving Servant's Sting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Wolf Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
And the wolf shakes off the sting's effect.

Get back here Bug! Sir Dydimus calls as the Imp moves to attack the wolf.
If Alek Readied for Dydimus to act he should be right before him in init now. Not sure if Alek can command Cinderpaw to Ready or not this turn but Alek if you want to Ready I can try and set you up for your attack.
Caranthir Silverhand

"Pesky little fiend," Caranthir observes as he draws another arrow.
Sorry I didn't post! I didn't think I was up yet!
GM Engleaktig

Since we're posting asynchronously, I don't mind the order of actions among party members while we have only one enemy present. (We need to be more careful with initiative order with multiple enemies, because of the action economy.) So, for now, players can post their actions as long as the "creature" gets one turn a round.
Since it just went, the whole party gets to go now! :-D Finish him! :-P
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Caranthir fires a pair of arrows at the creature, careful to avoid his companions.
Attack rapid fire: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 4 = 12for damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack rapid fire: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 5 - 4 = 15 for damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Sir Dydimus
|
Sir Dydimus bravely steps up to give Alek a flank and slashes at the little creature's wings trying to get its attention.
Aid Another Attack
Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10
With the flank that gets it!
Alek please take a +6 on your next attack.
GM Engleaktig
|
Dydimus, how are you giving him +6? I count +2 for the flank and +2 for the Aid Another action. Do you have a feat or ability that I missed? :-)

Caranthir lets loose. Unfortunately, his shots cannot seem to find purchase in the tiny foe's flesh.

Trait:
Helpful (racial): When aiding another grant +4 instead of +2
I'm building Dydimus as combat support. It goes up to +7 with Inspire Courage, next level it goes up on attacks since I'll be going Order of the Dragon Cavalier.
Van Potter
|
"The dame outside said to use the silver dagger, someone should do that." Van advises as he pulls out his dagger and tries to distract the creature to give Alek a greater advantage in combat.
Aid Another Alek: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Alex has an additional +2 from Van on his attack roll.
Opal-Alchy
|
Opal throws the silver letter opener I took from Paracountess Zarta.
Thrown Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 do I add another +1 to the throw for the masterwork or is just my standard +4?
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
It doesn't matter, it missed anyway
Alek Stormcrow
|
Holy crap, that's +8 bonus to Alek's attack!
Alek flinches when Cinder is struck by the imp's tail and prepares to strike back at the creature; however, he waits until Cinder takes a step back away to creature some space. "Cinder, grab him!"
The wolf lashes out at the imp and bites down viciously onto the demon's leg, before ripping backward and knocking the little creature prone onto the ground. He holds onto the imp's leg, shaking his head and tangling the creature!
Tangling Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18
Bite: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Alek takes the opportunity and follows up with a heavy blow from his axe while the enraged imp is down on the ground and in dire straights!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 4 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Wow! That was an awesome round... I didn't realize how much old Cinderpaw could really change up the battlefield.... Okay, so the imp is Entangled from Tangling Attack and Prone from the Trip attack. The Entangled condition lasts for 1 round.

Aha! Very cool! :-)
____________________________________________________________Okay, so the imp is Entangled from Tangling Attack and Prone from the Trip attack. The Entangled condition lasts for 1 round.
I beg to differ, sir! The imp is a steaming pile of goo on the ground! ;-D
____________________________________________________________The party retrieves the box. :-)
Caranthir Silverhand

As the group finishes dealing with the imp and retrieving the box, Caranthir turns to Zarta.
"This should serve as a cautionary tale against utilizing this sort of servant, though I am sure you will ignore the warning," the elf says.
"We have accomplished the task you set before us. I am confident you can retrieve what we came for from this box?"
Opal-Alchy
|
Opal is going to retrieve that letter opener that missed the imp.
Caranthir, are you sure you don't want to get in those shackles?
Alek Stormcrow
|
I beg to differ, sir! The imp is a steaming pile of goo on the ground! ;-D
LOL! That made me laugh, well done. And Dydimus, that's a pretty cool concept! PFS groups will love that.
GM Engleaktig
|
"We have accomplished the task you set before us. I am confident you can retrieve what we came for from this box?"
Zarta smiles at Caranthir. "Your manner is so... stiff... my boy. You're not completely devoid of promise--though, you could learn a thing or two about how your friend over there uses his companion's mouth. You may take the box back to Ambrus and send him my compliments."
Van Potter
|
"Daylight's burning, let's get out of here, we got things to do." Van says as he goes out the door, not sticking around for the weird innuendo.
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Head held high, Caranthir sniffs and ignores the barbs from both Opal and Zarta.
"I am sure we can get the box to Ambrus," he says with a curt bow.
Alek Stormcrow
|
After splattering the imp, Alek turns to check Cinder's injuries and notices the wolf licking the wound. The hunter lays down his weapon and shield and then places his hand over the puncture, pushing Cinderpaw's mouth away. His murmurs some words and the light sound of wind rushing through leaves accompanies the smell of fresh rain as a blue glow surrounds Alek's hands and works into Cindewpaw's wound. After he inspects the healing, satisfied with his work and looks his friend in the eye. "That'll teach you to be more careful next time."
He looks up just in time to hear the strange back and forth between Opal, the Chelish woman, and Caranthir. Being from the backwater Dark Moon Vale, Alek doesn't quite get the innuendos and simply raises his eyebrows at the strange woman. He then follows behind Van. "I agree with the gnome."
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Cure Light Wounds on Cinderpaw. Silly wolf needs to learn how to dodge better...

Finally getting a chance to take in his surroundings Sir Dydimus give a shiver, This place make me feel icky.
Were to next fellow adventures?!? I believe we were decided on the Ascendant Court. Follow me! I know the way!

Arriving at the Temple of the Shining Star, the party is immediately directed to Ollysta Zadrian. This paladin of Sarenrae is young in her years, but holds herself with the poise of a queen and warrior simultaneously. As she notices the Pathfinders' arrival, she strides forward, addressing the group in a strong voice.
"Thank the light of Sarenrae you have arrived! I knew Ambrus would come through for us in the Silver Crusade. I desperately need you to bring medicine to an orphanage and let me know if the headmistress, Gilga Baltwin, is deserving of our charity. Since our quest began, the needy have clamored for our aid, and I suspect some are abusing our generosity. It may sound cruel, but there are plenty of dishonest people out in the world eager for easy gold."
"Do you know of the Silver Crusade? After discovering so many factions splintered the Society, a number of us banded together to proliferate the cause of charity and kindness using the Society’s resources. As it is said, The Dawn brings new light, and I’ve made it my life’s work to use our recent darkness to bring a new light to the world and to the Pathfinder Society."
"I apologize for straying off point. Will you bring this parcel of medicine to Auntie Baltwin’s Home for Recovery in the Eastgate district?"
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Caranthir nods. "This is a noble cause, and many children benefit, I am confident, from your efforts. We will ensure that the recipients of this charity do not waste these valuable resources."
Sir Dydimus
|
Eastgate! I live in Eastgate!
Sir Dydimus
|
Onward! There is this great bakery we can stop at too! If we are lucky we'll be able to get some apple biscuits that didn't sell this morning!
Sir Dydimus
|
APPLE BISCUITS!
Caranthir Silverhand
|
Caranthir turns to Dydimus, a serious look on his face even for the very serious elf.
"How can we take time for apple biscuits when the thieves guild is stealing supplies from orphans? Orphans!"
Sir Dydimus
|
Ha! All thieves guilds know not to ply their trade in My District!
