Eadie smiles and *bobs* to the newcomer. "Hi, Dassah. I'm Eadie. Have you had dinner yet? I was just going to get some at the Royal Elf Diner and you're welcome to join me."

The Pathfinders spend the night carousing, eating, and banding a few wounds. The maps that Mast Torch provided them spark some of the conversation but most of the party looses interest quickly and moves on to other subjects.
As a new day dawns in the Osirian trade city of Eto the party recalls their meeting with Grandmaster Torch. In exchange for a handful of services, he delivered several maps and sketches of landmarks that collectively point the way to the last known resting place of one or more sage jewels—enchanted gems capable of storing memories of Osirion’s past and reviving the Sapphire Sage Amenopheus’s order. Those will take you where you want to go, Torch declared while handing over the maps. Deviate from the path if you know what you’re doing. As an afterthought, he added, You’re not the only ones who know about that site. I hear a group of foreigners set out from Totra not too long ago and are after the same prize. Sounds like there’s no time to waste.

I hope that answers your questions Lore. :)
You still have a half a weathered geode, the sending stone, from Amenopheus.

You have the morning to prepare yourselves for the journey through the desert.

Sorry, Lore. I meant I'll pick up the wand of Endure Elements, but I can't actually use it. So if you would cast from the wand, that would be great! ;)

Hadassah is able to talk to some caravan traders about the route (without giving away too much information of course!). Some of them are familiar with the terrain and a few oasis on the trail. They can help give some advice on traveling +1 Survival checks in Desert.. You also learn that Gnoll clans are becoming more active in this area and abductions on caravans are becoming more frequent. Lastly, someone else was here asking similar questions about this route a few days ago. One flashed a bronze badge bearing a snake emblem when he was questioned by customs agents.

You are able to easily obtain enough food and other provisions for the trip. But it appears that time will be you biggest enemy.

Very sorry everyone for the delay. Just busy for a few days... time to get back to work here! Before we get going too far, hiring Camels. From what I can tell (it actually isn't covered in the module), buying a Camel is 150gp. I assume that you can then sell it back for 75 gp... right? Is this what you want to do?

The Pathfinders spend the morning obtaining supplies for a trip across the desert. The map looks easy enough to follow. Lore and Hadassah are given plenty of tips and directions by flirtatious caravaners.

The basic idea here is that if you take the route on the maps, you get there on regular time. If you hire mounts or have a way to move faster then you can get there a quicker, ahead of the competing party. If you take a shortcut through the desert (a Survival check) you can also get there ahead of time. Of course if things go bad, you can get there after the others...

"I can afford a camel.... but a discount is always handy... "

She DID do her best when she went shopping with 'Dassah.

diplomacy aid: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

and please don't bring up Legacy of Fire... I have the worst memories of that game - from the pugwampis to the TPK from the gnolls... and it was Lore's sister, Fionnbharanel, who died in that mod

So Lore might never find out what became of her big sister? :(

The Exchange

Half-Goblin

The Pathfinders spend the morning purchasing camels and the rest of the supplies that are needed for the journey. By mid-day you are all off, following the map that was drawn by Grand Master Torch. You spend much of the day talking with each other and bringing up old memories. Lhug spends any free moment to try to outspit the camels, with varying results.

After an eventless night, you come upon an oasis midway through the next day. The oasis shimmers like a sapphire in the midday heat. Life clings around its edges tenaciously, with only a few hardy plants nestled amid the rocks managing to survive in patches around the area. Finches bathe in the water, resting on an abandoned harness. Trash and castoffs from travelers litter the area, and a small brick hearth is the only permanent fixture.

Perception checks. Also, you need to pick one person to make Survival checks. Other may aid that person. The chosen one will need to make three survival checks.

I will count charges from the wand of Endure Elements and record them in Eadie’s profile, DrGabe. Please sing out if anyone else wants to use it too!

“Whoaa, boy.” Eadie reins Drandle to a halt, dismounts and ties him to a convenient post or tree before having a good look around.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

“Looks like we might have beaten the opposition to this oasis. What does everyone make of it? Should we set up an ambush?”

Outwit, Outlast, Outplay … Survival! (spoilered for length):

I make everyone’s Survival modifiers (apologies if I have made a mistake) …

Dassah -1
Fleetwood +4
Lhug +0
Lore +3
Eadie +6

So it looks like Eadie for prom queen with everyone assisting? Can I have Guidance too please, Lore or Woody?

Edit: Lore and Lhug have posted inside my ‘1 hour edit window’ … so I’ll make the survival rolls to keep us moving …

Survival + Guidance: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Survival + Guidance: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
Survival + Guidance: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25

perc: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

ouch, obviously Lore isn't being too perceptive

On arrival at the oasis, Lore looks around a bit, and finds herself distracted by a small bird and simply nods absently to Eadie's assessment of the situation.

She does attempt to assist Eadie with survival skills

survival, aid dc 10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
