Jal's eyes narrow dangerously at the rat-woman, his lips quirking in a part-grin-part-grimace at the tell-tale afterburn of poison. "Watch for poisoned blades, everyone!"

He shrugs off the poison, barely keeping his eyes on the elusive rat-woman as he dodges past the shadow, ducks the worst of the flame, the shoulder of his shirt smoking as he darts in at Tseka, his blade seeking Aspis blood.

"Run and hide, nathair beag!"

"Brother Jal, you look most weakened! If you wish to switch positions I am willing to be standing in your place, brave fellow," Guang says in concern. He squints at the shadowy creature that has so drained Jal's life force, considering his actions a moment int he lens of what the Master of Master might suggest is the most perfect path forward.

Move action: detect evil on the shadow. Contingencies as follow:

If shadow is evil: swift action to smite evil on the shadow.
If shadow is not evil: swift action to invoke his monastic trait (+1 trait bonus to AC for 1 minute. [Either way, this should put his AC vs incorporeal touch attacks at 23] )

Standard action either way (assuming the stage does not prevent Guang from hitting Makino-- they look adjacent on the map [before Guang moves], but height might be an issue):

Guang says, "This fellow who is throwing around the fires is quite troublesome, no? Perhaps he can be dealt with?"

He lashes out with his hand in a blade-shape at a spot on Makino's leg-- seeking to touch the nerve that should deaden the spellcaster's world with pain, at least for a moment.

Stunning fist attempt on Makino, flagbearer, magic weapon: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 12 Boo!

Guang's fist wholly misses the caster, but the ethereal form that Rolando has conjured attacks as well.

Free spirit punch vs Makino: 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 3 = 28 ...of course
Spirit critical?: 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 3 = 21

Normal damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
extra critical damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

With all of this done, Guang takes a short adjusting step to be adjacent to the shadow. "Please, focus yourself on me, mister darkness."

Karos aims his pistol at Tseka's center of mass, but lets his finger hover over the trigger.

Cast see invisibility.

"Time to cash out, little sister," he says. "There's still time to survive this game."

Karos casts a spell to aid him in finding any hidden enemies, but he can see no one that he could not see before. He then turns his attention to the remaining rat female, who looks carefully at the faces and weapons arrayed around her before cursing and tossing down her rapier.

Makino struggles futilely against Guang, but to no avail.

One has surrendered, the other is pinned. What next, Pathfinders?

With Karos holding her at gunpoint, Aramil will move in and frisk Tseka for any hidden weapons, confiscating anything that he finds.

With that done, he'll bind her arms to her body and tie her hands together, leaving just enough extra rope to act as a leash to drag her along with.
"Well, gentlemen, we have what we came for. Might I suggest that we make our departure now?" he says as he turns to the group.
"Now, going back through the market might get dicey, but I'm willing to bet gold that there's an escape tunnel here somewhere. Let's take a look around the room."

Once the others have helped secure Makino, Guang approaches the bound ratfolk.

"Excuse me," he says politely, "but I would like to know if you are really Tseka. The one on the stage claiming to be you, this was not true, was it? I advise you to be telling the truth, now-- the time for shadows is past."

Bind his hands and take his spell components, Rolando growls, pointing a claw at Makino. Nice work, everyone. Know let's see how well they cooperate.

Jal spits out a mouthful of blood as he checks the various cuts and gouges he’s taken in the last minute. He looks balefully at the surrendered Aspis agents, resisting the urge to punch them.

”What? You run out of aces to play?”

Jal helps Guang bind them (those two have the highest CMD’s, I believe making their knots the hardest to slip out of), looking back at the crew as he works. ”I have a wand in my pack there. It’s a healing wand. Any of you able to use it on me as we get ready to get gone?”

If someone can use Jal’s wand on him…
Wand of CLW, x5 charges: 21 + 6d8 + 6 ⇒ 21 + (3, 6, 2, 2, 6, 6) + 6 = 52

Wounds healed and the target secured, Jal nods to Aramil. "Good idea," he says as he picks up the dead rat-folk body and stuffs it in an empty sack from his pack, "I'll help."

Jal Aids Another to Aramil's Perception to find a secret exit out of this place. Without rolling, he succeeds, pushing Aramil's roll up to 34.

Guang bows to Jal. "Please, Brother Jal, allow me. Are you well? You looked very stricken from that thing of shadow." He takes the wand and carefully passes it over the other man.

"There are doors we have not opened," he points out serenely as he returns Jal's wand to him. "Do we believe we have all the information that the Society will find useful?"

"It's true we haven't cleared the rest of this lair, but that might be difficult to do with our newly acquired baggage in tow. However, if you truly wish to know what's on the other side of those doors, we could just ask." says the half-elf as he throws a wicked grin at Tseka.

"Thanks, Guang," offers Jal, patting ribs that were moments ago bleeding profusely. Then he re-stows the wand.

He gives the bound Aspis an eager grin, "Or we could just knock their a$$es out. That should keep them quiet."

He points towards the door (in the northwest corner of the room) with his blade, "But the point stands. We should check through there to see if there's any documentation or anything to get us more intel."

once we have a yes/no on the existence of hidden rooms or compartments in here, I'd suggest we move back towards/through that northwestern door.

Aramil looks about the room while the rest of the pathfinders work on securing their hostages. Aramil finds two passages behind the stage, each apparently escape tunnels meant for an expeditious retreat. The walls of the room are covered in maps and diagrams, looking like plans for future attacks, and an unsent missive sits off to the side, penned but not yet sealed.

On Makino, the party finds the usual odds and ends, as well as a Bronze Aspis Consortium badge and a broken Wayfinder. On the dead ratwoman, you find a Gold Aspis Consortium Badge and a Silver Aspis Consortium Badge wrapped in a crumpled letter,

DC 15 K. Local:
The maps are an architectural layout of Goka, and a sketch of the interior of the Lantern Lodge, as well as a detailed drawing of an unexceptional multicolorted tapestry covered in abstract patterns. If you character has previous experience with the Hao Jin Tapestry, they recognize the sketch as the Tapestry
In addition, you recognize the name A. X. Adrius as the public face of the Aspis consortium's anonymous shadowy board of patrons.

DC 18 K. Local:
The gold Aspis Badge Tseka is carrying is a forgery

Note crumpled around Silver Aspis Badge:
Tseka,
For a supposedly bright agent, you seem to be struggling
with a basic truth: you are a silver agent. You are not a gold
agent and have never been a gold agent, and you are doing
a fine job of campaigning against your own promotion with
your childish antics.
If I catch you stepping outside the bounds of your
authority again, my next letter to you will contain your
shiny new bronze badge. Do I make myself clear?
As for your latest request, the patrons are not prepared
to release more funding to your cause at this time.

Unsent Letter:
Marnarius,
I am growing increasingly concerned that I haven’t heard from
you since the report on your glowing success at the Pathfinder’s
Grand Lodge. I have tried to supply you with the means to rebuild
your life, but I’ve heard rumors that your desire for vengeance is
preventing you from accepting my help. Take some time to enjoy
your accomplishments and revel in the harm that you have already
caused to the Society. Don’t let the Pathfinders drive you to throw
your life away chasing wild schemes, and please, Marnarius, stop
placing your trust in the hands of people who have already failed
the Consortium in the past.
Regards,
Tseka

In response to Guang, the captured rat woman shakes her head. "Yall are confused. It was me on stage, and I was claiming to be Tseka, but you killed her. I was just supposed to act the part.. keep ya distracted."

Now Im the one thats been confused and reconfuseded. You find the badges on your captive..
"I am Tseka.. That fool on the stage was my puppet put here to keep you distracted.."

In response to Aramil's not so subtle innuendo, she replies "That door? Thats just an overgrown hall.. like a receiving room for the room we are in now. One end leads to the Alchemist, and the other leads to a big room we are growing some kinda fungus in. Other than that is just the old temple room in the middle." She gives a distinct and obvious shudder at the mention of this last room.

"Damn," says Karos. "Li wanted Tseka alive. We need to thoroughly search this whole place for any information on what she was up to. We need to be certain. We can take this one with us, but we need to clear this whole lair, except maybe for those mushroom people."

With Tseka dead, I'm betting our second PP is on the line here. Probably treasure, too.

GM:
I think I'm possibly confused. Was this one not Blue? Per this bit here, Red was the on-stage on claiming to be Tseka? Which is the one Guang made the original Sense Motive check on?

Fixed in the above. You have Tseka alive.. I could really have done better in how I notated that battle.
This is where I screwed up.. and it just snowballed from there:

Let's take all the maps and we can sort it out later. The sooner we're out of here the better.

Rolando looks at Tseka with disdain.

Looks like you're running out of allies. Best make things easier for yourself. What's in the temple?
