THere's two further crew members on the decks: a male navigator on the aft deck, and a female lookout, fiddling with a blade, on the fo'c's'le.

They all did it! Wait, no, not an Agatha Christie novel...
I used to read those. A gift from my aunt when I was younger when she discovered I liked mysteries. She found about 40 of them at a garage sale. I liked the little grey cells more than Marple, but my favorite was probably And Then There Were None.
Darvik still tries to calm himself down. He's never been the best at dealing with people, at least not in a way that would be considered prudent.
Wow, thirty posts! If I can do anything by the time I catch up, I will.

Azuretta? I can see the resemblance to a certain somebody she thinks wondering what the bard may be doing. "this is my companion Darvik" she says nudging the man towards her with a wink.
Darvik Willowbrook

Darvik eventually finds Liara just as she stops to talk with the woman. The half-elf woman. Darvik Willowbrook. Sorry to meet under these circumstances. He watches as Liara begins to talk to the others on board, letting her take the lead in questioning. By the look on the man's face you can tell he is still upset over the murder of the man he was to help escort.
Darvik gives Liara a glance as if to say, This is the one, right?
Liara Vashj
|
giving Darvik a shrug I hope he is persuasive Liara thinks as she strolls over to the captain "I believe who ever did this act may have had a key can you tell me who has a key currently in their possession" she says trying to take his attention away from his log book.
| DM Kludde |
The captain is very pre-occupied with writing notes. Annoyed, but otherwise calm, he looks up you again? Haven't you brought enough trouble to this ship? The cabin Sephriel was in was the first mate's. He has a key, of course. He then turns to his logbook again, intent on ignoring Liara.
Liara Vashj

Wanting no part in in her companions debauchery Liara gives the captain a final stair before leaving "may the first god watch over you my Captain" she says as she leaves the cabin giving Darvik a look as if to say don't take too long leaving to watch the unfolding scuffle between Loenor and the ships cook with a sigh Liara walks over to try to stop the two from going at it.

So what's an elf like you doing on a boat like this? Darvik asks the half-elven woman quite awkwardly. Could we talk somewhere in private?

Liara does not get the idea the captain is really hiding anything. His preoccupation with his journal is probably due to some distress about the murder on board.

Eolowyn moves out, towards the deck. She hopes the aquatic elf is still unconscious and on deck. There she will try to lug the elf downstairs to their cabin.
Azura accompanies Eolowyn in moving their captive to a more secure location. Stopping to speak to the navigator, "Ulamon, can you tell us if there is a brig? We need to secure this captive before we bring her around for questioning. Would you assist us? Of any of this crew, I would most like to have you by my side. There is most definitely a murderer among us!" The wind kicked up at her words and she hugged herself as if feeling chilled, and stepped toward him, sheltering against the wind in his shadow. As the gust passed, she stepped back, smiling endearingly, hoping to gain his favor.
Diplomacy for Ulamon: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27Assuming he comes along, we'll move the captive to the most secure location and double check her bonds. Azura will revive her with her wand and question her with Eolowyn and any of the group that comes along.

"Sleep well, darling? You will not have the privilege of a quick death and a burial at sea. You will answer our questions or I will slice you away, inch by inch, starting with the prettiest parts first. Now tell us who in this crew you were working with!"

Ulamon is the big, sturdy feller manning the steering wheel on the aft deck. He is a direct talker, but has an air of mystery - some voodoo from a different country - around him. If Azura didn't know any better, he could be the cause of the wind that blew through Azura's hair.
Ain't a prison ship, m'lady, don' have a brig here. But you can leave 'im here, and I'll keep an eye on 'im. I'm here all day.

The elf is visibly disturbed at the sight of a knife at his throat.

Liara notices the perfume Azuretta is wearing. The smell is very similar to something she experienced earlier - in Sephriel's cabin.
I hope I caught everyone's actions, but with the PC's scattered all over the pace interacting with different NPC's it's inevitable I miss something. Still, I think this works rather well for a PbP (this would be pure chaos in a RL game, though)
I'm actually quite surprised at the lack of 'where were you at the time of murder' type questions.

Work has been a pain, so was letting others drive.
After the failed conversation with the cook, Loenor headed back up to the deck to think.
No one came up on deck after the murder except for us. Either they went down to the bilge to hide or they're hiding in plain sight...
As he ruminates, he hears a very familiar language coming from the aft deck. Heading over and seeing the elf pleading, he slips into a more native tongue.
"Mu sõber olen näinud hind otsad Kodu ilusam kui sina. Te võiksite öelda talle, mida ta tahab. Või ta lõikan uus naeratus, et nägu."
| DM Kludde |
The elf looks defiantly at Loenor and says:
Te töötate need madala vereproove? Häbi teile! Kõik madal vereproove, tuleks keelustada moodustavad torn. Sellepärast tulime peatus Sephriel ja tema mõjuna - reetur!
You work with these low-bloods? Shame on you! All low bloods should be banned form the spire. That's why we came to stop Sephriel and his corrupting influence - the betrayer!

"Need 'madal vereproove' lihtsalt panna sind ilma pingutuseta. Nüüd vastus küsimusele, või siis liituda meie vennad sügavamal ja lisan oma oda minu trofee ruumi."
Also, GM, I think the only way this could be more streamlined is if there were a different gameplay thread for each group of players. But that's not very feasible with the forum set up here at Paizo. So you're doing the best you can with what they give you! =)
And I think we'll get to the interrogations after this elf is dealt with. I just get a feeling if we wait to question him, he'll show up just as dead as our charge.
Azura ~bluedove

Can we assume Loenor is translating? =D
Left to relying on her fellow Pathfinder to take over the interview, Azura decided to keep up her intimidation tactic, now caressing the elf's pointy ear with the tip of her dagger's blade as she made casual conversation with Ulamon.
"Have you ever been to Kaer Maga, Ulamon? I've heard there is a surgeon there who makes his living off of altering the ears of half-elves to look more human. He makes a great deal of gold, they say. Seems like a fairly simple procedure. Maybe I should take advantage of this opportunity and practice a new skill, eh?" She laid the edge of the blade over the very tip of the elf's ear, applying pressure enough to shave away the tiniest slip of flesh.
Satisfied that she had done what she could to aid the interrogation, she again turned her attention to Ulamon, still holding the captive by his hair. Looking for signs of deception from them both.
"Ulamon, did you see or hear anything suspicious going on just before or around the time these would-be assassins attacked. Even the smallest detail might be important. Can you tell me what you witnessed? Who would you suspect might be involved in the attack on Sephriel?"

It's not a big secret - we knew he was coming to the spire, and we have good informants. I wasn't aware of a conspiracy on this ship, though. Wouldn't have bothered if we knew the deed was already done.
The elf is trembling, frightened to death. There is little dishonesty that Loenor can discern.

With a frustrated look of resignation. Loenor stands up. "He doesn't know anything so far as I can tell. Still, we should keep him locked up. Or keelhaul him. Either way." He looks at the elf at the latter suggestion.
He may not speak it, but I'm pretty sure he'll understand basic Taldane.
