Daereon Phoenixstar wrote:Can I use my divine fire to save Tsakolk?Yes. BTW Xaaven doesn't get a heal check this round, I forgot he already took his turn. But anything that causes healing would also cause a stabilise so just cast heavenly fire.
One other note, also. Xaaven is still affected by the lantern and affected as though he were an unprotected character in cold weather. Therefore he must make a Fortitude save each hour (DC 15, +1 per previous check, which is one so far so next is DC 16) or take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage; once nonlethal damage reduces to zero it moves to lethal damage. So, once stabilised, rather than rest, I suggest the remaining characters search the premises and then cart the bodies of the unconscious characters, plus any prizes discovered, back to the manor house to figure out what to do next.

Heavenly fire on the half orc 1d4 ⇒ 3

GM Shady |

I hate to do this to myself but Tsakolk is Neutral, so no fire healing
Sigh, OK. In that case, Daereon can retcon his move and make a healing check, DC15. Kalith makes a double move to support healing next turn. Then you make a healing check +1 DC10, all other standing PCs/NPCs can make healing checks DC15. I don't think anyone has healing skill.

Heal 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

![]() |

That is what I get for not rechecking to see if everything is correct on the roll. Sorry.

Kathil |

The female fighter regards the scene. "My name's Kathil; this lug is Aerith. We found a couple of your former colleagues, lost in Absalom, and figured you would be short handed. Sorry we took so long, looks like you took a bit of a beating. We figured out the location from the servant at the manor, then had to track it down through the owner, by the same route as you. We can't stay here. Let's grab what we can and head back to the manor to try and fix matters."

GM Shady |

Booty: The loft is set up as a small office, but there is also a cot set up here for Bengeirr. The Beacon of the North currently hangs on a chain from the ceiling. The goods stolen from Skelg’s vault are stored here. There are carpets, urns, sculptures, and other works of art.
There is also a box, unopened and unadorned. Looking inside, it contains two potions marked "healing" (luckily enough).
As for Bengeirr, his greatsword bears the rune of a master craftsman.
That's the loft area. You can also search the ship if you wish.
The potions are Cure Moderate Wounds.

![]() |

Can we use them on the cleric and half-orc? I'm not exactly sure how these things work in PFS.

![]() |

The half elf will attempt to stabilize the Ulfen
heal 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

![]() |

After searching the loft, Xaaven looks disappointed. "We have the lantern, but nothing about how to reverse the effects. Maybe Bengeirr knows something."
He watches hopefully as Daereon attempts to stop the bleeding. "It looks like that cut is too deep. I'm not sure if I'll have any more luck, but let me try. Otherwise, use a potion on Ilandro if he's still alive and maybe he can save Bengeirr."
He moves over to attempt to stablize Bengeirr.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 20 lol, not sure I wanted to waste a 20 on that but so be it.

![]() |

The half elf will take the potion and attempt to revive him with the healing magic
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 4) + 3 = 14

![]() |

Presuming that the potion is being used on Ilandro, that will bring him up to 8hp.
Ilandro's eyes flutter open as he wakes to find himself sprawled on the floor with his spear at his side. He looks up and around to see Daereon with an empty vial near to his own face, and Tsakolk and Bengeirr both on the floor.
The cleric scrambles over to the half-orc and lays a hand over the gaping wound, forgetting completely his own injuries. "Desna, I ask that you heal these wounds and bring our companion back from the Boneyard's brink."
Losing protection from evil in favour of cure light wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Well...damn.

![]() |

We might be here a while. lol

![]() |

Xaaven looks at the two late comers. "While Ilandro tries to get everyone to their feet, do you mind helping me search the boat?" he says as he starts down the stairs. He checks to make sure the entrance to the boat is not trapped and then lets them enter first before following and searching.
Perception (traps): 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9
Perception (search): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

GM Shady |

Aerith and Kathil both nod and follow Xaaven onto the boat.
Perception Rolls
Kathil: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Aerith: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
The ship is a simple one-level longship with benches for rowers and a single mast. A lantern of similar size and design to the Beacon of the North hangs from its prow.
At the bottom of the ship the group find a number of bodies - seven in all - tightly wrapped in sailcloth. On closer examination the bodies are Ulfen. Each of them has a tattoo on his forehead, a kind of three legged spiral.
Aerith shakes his head. "That's Skelg's tattoo. I saw it on his shoulder when we went to the manor looking for you. These must be the guards they killed. I've seen enough. Let's get all this stuff back to the manor and figure out what to do next."

![]() |

The sorcerer nods.

GM Shady |

Daereon, can you please use the second CMW potion on Tsakolk. I'll assume you've done this before going to the next post.
The group, helped by Kathil and Aerith, returns to Greydog Manor. Skelg's condition has worsened, but Tyros listens closely to the party's account of the battle with Bengeirr.
"I'll ask the Society to send some agents to check the warehouse further. The most important thing is that you have the Beacon of the North. We believe it can be used to reopen the portal back through the tapestry downstairs, back to the northlands. That is where the solution to this mystery must lie. Let's try it now, shall we? If we can prove that it works, you can rest overnight before trying again and entering the portal."
Other than the potions, which you already used (see above), Skelg expects to keep the other recovered items. However, each character receives 157gp in return for their efforts.

![]() |

Apologies - internet has been shocking and using phone to try and post has been not useful. Here now though - if you would rather Ilandro try to use 2 of his remaining 3 channel attempts to raise Tsakolk from his unconsciousness, I am happy to - it just means I may need to rest before we head into the tapestry portal.

![]() |

With the aid of another member of the party, Ilandro brings Tsakolk's moving form to outside of the warehouse and with his holy symbol in hands intones a chant to Desna, invoking the goddesses blessing and healing for all in the vicinity.
Channel, 2 of 4: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Channel, 3 of 4: 1d6 ⇒ 6

GM Shady |

I think the idea is to rest before he adventure though anyway, so we might want to try and save the potion.
What are we assuming happened to the unconscious Bengeirr? I suggest we tie him up before we leave
I don't think you have enough time to rest to recover sufficient points, so you should probably use the potion (Ilandro's Channel brings you up to zero, so he has one more shot).

![]() |

Alrighty then - last channel coming up. *prays to the dice gods*
Channel, 4 of 4: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Not bad - that puts you to 6 now?

GM Shady |

I was on -7 so the Channels get me to 2?
You were on -9 so now on 4.
Edit: forgot Ilandro's dismal CLW, yes 6.
OK, let's assume we're all now back at the manor. You can still keep the remaining potion.

![]() |

The half-elf is ready to go.

GM Shady |

Just to move things on ...
Tyros leads the group downstairs to the tapestry, holding the Beacon before him. Once in place, he tells the adventurers to stand behind him and shines the lantern at the wall. As its light hits the tapestry, the scene changes to become somehow more ... real. A bitter cold wind blows hard into their faces from the land beyond the portal.
Another strange thing - at the exact moment that the portal opens, the biting cold that Xaaven has been experiencing within, dissipates.
Tyros looks at the group. "Yes, it seems to work. This is indeed the thing. Rest up. In the morning we should get to work."
Xaaven, you're cured of your condition, whatever it is. I'll leave it this evening for RP/posting but you can get started in the morning, game time; I'll move the plot forward tomorrow, our time.

![]() |

Xaaven returns to the manor. Still feeling chilled, he asks for some hot stew and washes it down with hot tea. Unable to shake the cold, he asks Tyros for some blankets. He begin to feels weak, as the cold saps his strength. Wrapped in blankets, he sits in a chair by the tapestry to see if the lantern will open the portal. He feels the blast of cold come from it, yet he feels warmer as the affliction seems to be lifted. He stands, letting the blankets fall to the floor.
"I don't think I'll be needed all of these now. I was getting worried I wouldn't be able to join you." He looks into the portal and the cold land beyond with a concerned look. He turns to Tyros. ""I really don't want to experience that cold again. Do you have any cold-weather outfits we could borrow for our trip?"

![]() |

Sorry, need to catch up
In the Warehouse
Tsakolk wakes with a start and a snarl
"Where is... I mean... ugh!"
Gazing blearily around the room, he quickly realises the pattern of events.
"We need to tie him up, then let the society deal with him"
He gives his fallen foe a kick before limping gingerly down the stairs...
Back at Greydog Manor
As the portal opens Tsakolk steps forward, trying to get a better idea of what lies on the other side without passing through.
As Xaaven's recovery becomes apparent he turns to Tyros
"Well I think we have your cure! Bring your master down here I say, let us see if it will work for him too."

![]() |

The half-elf will get a good meal, take a warm bath, and then fo off to pray before he goes to bed,

![]() |

"Will we have time enough to rest before entering the portal? I'm afraid that my spells are all but spent and we don't know what is on the other side." Ilandro speaks, his voice uncertain.

![]() |

The next morning he will gather himself, thank the Inheritor for giving him another day to spread her message and bring goodness and justice to the world, shine his weapons and go down stairs for breakfast and to hear what is going to take place that day.

![]() |

Tyros shakes his head. "No, we already tried that. In fact, it works for a while and then returns."
Xaaven's smile quickly vanishes when Tyros mentions the affliction could return. "How long before it returns? I guess I might be needing those after all," he says looking down at the blankets. Having already eaten, he curls up in the chair and covers himself with the blankets in order to get some sleep. "I might as well stay here so I don't have far to go in the morning in case the problem returns."

![]() |

Ready to go. Will the new people be joining us now or only after the scenario is done?

GM Shady |

Tyros nods to Tsakolk. "Yes, I think so. And it sounds like this you've dealt with Bengeirr's entire group, though even if there are any left, they won't attack while we have the worm as hostage. I'll ask them for guards for the manor as well, until we can get replacements in place. You should be safe here tonight. We'll re-establish the portal in the morning."
@Daereon - PFS rules mean we can't change within a scenario but the two NPCs will remain through the end of the scenario, assuming they stay alive that long.

![]() |

No biggie. How many more parts to the scenario do we have?
