Aritian ends rage hp drops to 8/15.
He turns to the Dawnflower.

Not to be picky, but I had to move in on my turn to reach the enemy, I wasn't within his reach on his turn (maybe if I said "moves around" instead of "swings around" it would be been more clear). For simplicity I'll take the hit though.
Yup. Akkuret had 10 foot reach and Combat Reflexes, so you provoked while approaching into melee.
As Gratius gets Saldoc back on his feet, one of the women seems quite nervous. She panics as the party questions her.
"Goddess forgive me. I...once had an affair with Dalsine." The other members take a step back. "I knew it, this is why- I knew you wouldn't trust me. I left his manor a year ago and he never mentioned attacking us. Oh goddess, forgive me."
She sobs. Piria walks up and puts her hand on the woman's shoulder. "The goddess of the dawn is about forgiveness and redemption. Confessing your sins is the first step to recovery. Please, do you know where he lives?"
"I know, I know where his manor is. Travel to the Senate's Hill District, head onto Holysmith Avenue. Take a left by the Red Lantern, and head down a block. You can't miss it."
Torrential
|
In his own way, Torrential tries to comfort her. Not really understanding her shame he adds...
"Acting on your impulse to procreate is natural, lass. Your guilt is illogical."
Saldoc Tisbane
|
So you say. You didn't get swatted by that thing. Anyway, lets go before that all gets worse.
Saldoc then asks the woman, How many guards or servants or whoever does he have at the manor? Any idea?
Gratius Laelius
|
Your informations are valuable woman, don't blame yourself for that.
Says Gratius trying with the best of his abilities to encourage the woman to talk.
To his comrades he adds I'm not sure the information she had on Dalsine's home about its security is accurate today.
I suggest we go as soon as possible, we have lose enough time.
| GM chadius |
The woman nods along with Gratius. "Yes, it's been a year since I left there. I wouldn't know much about the security there."
Piria nods. "We will take her with us, rest assured. Thank you for all for your concern. We don't have much, but please take this."
Piria offers you a potion of lesser restoration, and a copy of their holy text, The Birth of Light and Truth, a real collector's item.
You all gather your goods and wish the Dawnflowers goodbye as they leave the refuge.
Thanks to the woman's instructions, you are able to reach the front gate of the Dalsine mansion without incident. You hear a commotion as you approach the front gates.
Two sets of guards seem to be in an argument. One group you recognize as Dalsine's guards, dressed in Taldor attire, blocking all from entering. The other group, dressed in Qadrian armor are demanding their mistress is permitted entry. You notice two carriages stopped right outside the front gates.
There are a couple of ways past this group. You may try Diplomacy (3 DC 15 checks), Bribery (100 gp per side for 200 gp total), and Stealth (First, one of you must make a DC 25 Climb check, then make a DC 15 Stealth check.) Or you could try fighting them all.
Saldoc Tisbane
|
Saldoc would prefer Diplomacy or Stealth, but I'm hopeful someone with the right words will help us with the first choice.
Colleen Ravenhair -CORE-

Any obvious heraldry on the carriages? If we had a cleric we could get more healing before moving on. If we had a bard we could try fascinating them. If we had and arcane caster we might put them all to sleep. We don't have any of that but by god we fight and backstab! Failing all the above, some of us could cause a distraction while others attempted to sneak in thereby separating the party.
Torrential
|
"I could lay down an obscuring mist which would aid us in slipping past them, but I don't think everyone can climb all that well. In fact, that wall looks intimidating."
Gratius Laelius
|
Is one of us able to speak to the guards ? I'm not that good with words but as an ancient guard I could find a subject to discuss with them and try something to convince them to let us pass.
Gratius has profession (soldier) if it could help in this case
| GM chadius |
One of the carriages is local to Taldor, while the other seems Qadrian.
"I've heard rumors he is trying to discredit the Pathfinder Society by attacking the Dawnflowers. I have also heard he is trying to pit two of the Pathfinder factions against each other: Baron Jacquo Dalsine, his older cousin, and the Qadrian faction leader Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri, Let us hope he never gets a chance to put them together in the same room- they hate each other so much."
You may have arrived just in time to witness their meeting - no wonder Akkurett didn't want you to leave.

There's always the two pronged approach. Either way we're burning nighttime.
"Remember you don't know me." She rushes off to come at the door from some angle other than the direct one.

"Oy you lot! hic Keep it down some of us had an early day and is trying to sleep it off in yer shrubs o'er here! *hic* Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick again...." She casts about for a nice carriage to puke upon.
Saldoc Tisbane
|
Saldoc will take the opportunity to try and play along. Good heavens, not again... come back, my dear, you really shouldn't be seen in this state... again. Whoa, watch where your steppin'! Don't mess up the nice carriage, we can't afford to have it cleaned! Saldoc will then go over to Colleen and try to "assist" her in her time of need.
Torrential
|
Torrential will get ready to slip in if the guards leave their posts, laying down an obscuring mist to aid in the maneuver.
| GM chadius |
Ah, it turns out Bluff, Intimidate and Diplomacy are all applicable. So Coleen made the first of three. Additionally you can provide evidence in favor of Dalsine or Taldor to get bonuses to the checks.
Colleen interrupts the bickering between the guards by wandering in drunk and/or sick. Realizing she's veering towards the Qadrian carriage, some of the guards turn towards her. "Hey! Get away from there!" The Dalsine guards have a good laugh. "She's throwing garbage on the Qadrian trash that rolled into this neighborhood. Nothing to see here."
While Torrential stays at the ready, Vash and Gratius have great difficulty climbing the sheer walls outside Dalsine manor. Once one of you gets over the wall, you can lower a rope to drop the climb DC to 5
Saldoc Tisbane
|
Hold on! There'll be no trash-throwing or anything, I assure you! I'll handle her, please... oh dear, she looks like she could hurl at any moment. Don't go up there, my dear!
Where are we in relation to everyone else? I wouldn't mind if the guards came toward us but not to a point that they could see the others trying to climb.
Colleen Ravenhair -CORE-
|
Oh come on! I'm sure he can do better than that! ;)
| GM chadius |
I'll say that's good enough.
With a boost and an alley oop, Gratius helps Aritian over the manor gates. Aritian drops a rope and Gratius sends the signal to Torrential before climbs up. Climb DC 5 check to get over the gate, then I'll need Stealth checks, DC 15 to pass.
Meanwhile at the front gates, Saldoc continues to help Colleen distract the guards. More Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate DC 15 checks, or you can abort and try to Stealth your way in.
Torrential
|
Torrential will lay down an obscuring mist, not covering the guards, but concealing all the climbing and sneaking going on. Then he will join everyone in the climb and take 10 for a 10 climb. If anyone needs help he will do an aid another before climbing himself.
Stealth: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11 plus any bonuses for the mist.
Saldoc Tisbane

Saldoc will wait to see if the others have made it over the wall before aborting the current ruse with Colleen and trying to sneak in himself, unless the ranger goes a different direction.

Huh? Did the druid just start a fire over there? Alright Colleen just ignore it and try not to laugh.

"HAH! *snicker, cough, cough* No nothing just thinking about something funny. Where was I? Right, twelve of them."
Saldoc Tisbane

Come on, lets go now... this way! Assuming Saldoc has moved out of sight now he will indicate to Colleen that the ruse has done its job. At least I think it has...
Torrential
|
I don't know if you are thinking this or not, Colleen, but the spell produces fog, not smoke. Of course if you are acting drunk, a drunk might very well mistake fog for smoke.

Saldoc tries to sell the ruse a bit longer.

Vash tries to climb again.

As Vash climbs the rope handed to him, Aritian climbs over the wall and lands with a solid THUMP.

Colleen, want to try another Bluff? If you make the DC, you can sneak in.

| GM chadius |
I'll hurry this up a little and give some Improv.
Colleen runs out of stuff to say. As the guards slowly figure out this is a ruse, Colleen runs into the Obscuring Mist Torrential raised. The Dalsine guards decide to deal with the Qadrian guards first. "Let the dogs deal with 'em. Let's teach this Qadrian scum a lesson or two about distracting us!"
The guard dogs are fast asleep. And Cute. If only the manor were so innocent...
When you reach the foyer, you see Pasha Muhlia al-Jakri spit on Baron Jacquo Dalsine’s beheaded corpse, her twin kukiri fresh with his blood. "I'm done. Done with this whole ‘shadow war for Absalom,’ Pathfinders. If you want to continue your stupid treasure hunts, go ahead and waste your life. My sister is avenged."
The woman clicks on her heels and disappears into the night. You're not sure where she went, but you have a more important target: Dalsine Chalfon is atop a flight of stairs, laughing uproariously.
"Pathfinders, now in open war. Beautiful!" He laughs. "Ah yes. A group of Pathfinders broke into my mansion and killed my dear cousin right in front of my eyes. I valiantly fought them all off and executed them in the name of Taldor. Perfect!"
