Hi, all. Thanks for running the special for us, GM Crucible. Here's Iff checking in with my warpriest.
Player name: Iff
Character name: Amba Okoah
Faction: Scarab Sages
PFS#: 174458-7
Day job: -
(I have some other characters in tier, but this one has my preference. If it becomes necessary, I'll consider switching).

Hi, I'll be your punchy monk for the trip.

GM Crucible |

@Iff: It is always up to you as to which character you bring to a table. If you think a different character is a better fit, that's fine, but again it's up to you.

The GM for my last scenario had a question about my AC, so I just want to get it covered before combat starts. Standard AC is 15 (+2 Dex +2 Wis +1 dodge) with the Dodge feat. Using Crane Style and fighting defensively makes it 18 (+2 Dex +2 Wis +2 dodge +2 mis), but nine-section whips have the blocking property, giving me a +1 shield bonus for fighting defensively, making the grand total 19 (+2 Dex +2 Wis +1 shield +2 dodge +2 misc).
Also, the Unchained Monk's Flurry of Blows is different. I simply get an extra attack at full BAB as long as I use only monk weapons or unarmed strikes for it. And I get d10 Hit Dice, full BAB progression and profiency in all monk weapons for free. That should cover everything that might seem weird, I think.

GM Crucible |

I appreciate the heads up, Volyana, thanks.

GM Crucible |

I've brought in a wait-lister. Still waiting on one more to check in, though.

![]() |

I've got a few checks to make at the start of the day.
Acrobat's pillar, DC 20 Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
+2 circumstance bonus on Acrobatics checks made to avoid attacks of opportunity due to movement. Lasts 24 hours or until I fail an Acrobatics check.
Nine-section whip waster, DC 15 CMB: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
No bonus.
Surefoot training blocks, DC 15 Acrobatics. Take 10 for a 16.
+2 circumstance bonus to Climb checks and Acrobatics checks made to balance on narrow or uneven surfaces. Lasts 24 hours or until I fail an Acrobatics or Climb check.

With Mr. (Mrs.?) Closet, that makes six. "Daniel" was signed up for this table, but hasn't responded to PMs this week. If he shows, that'll be seven, which is fine as I don't want to leave one person out in the cold on a Gameday.

GM Crucible |

As this is a "culmination" adventure for Season 6, if your character has any of the chronicles from the list below, please let me know:
* #6–00: Legacy of the Stonelords
* #6–16: Scions of the Sky Key,Part 3: The Golden Guardian
* #6–19: Test of Tar Kuata
* #6–20: Returned to Sky
* #6–21: Tapestry’s Toil

Sadly, not THIS character.

GM, I didn't mean to be snippy or rude with the friendly fire comment. I just have a friend who does friendly fire house rules for archers and it often turns into a farce. I hear a GM ask if the archer has Precise Shot and get a bit worried :\

GM Crucible |

Not a problem. I was kind of wondering where you were going with it.
Just a reminder that it's -4 to make a ranged attack against an enemy engaged in melee combat, unless you have Precise Shot (which would be unusual before level 3).
In addition, depending on your angle, your friends may provide soft cover to enemies as well, which provides either +2 or +4 AC cover bonus to the enemies. Together, these are a potential -8 equivalent for firing in to melee against an enemy with soft cover.
These are standard Pathfinder and PFS rules, but I don't always see them applied, especially at low levels. I ask players to include the effects of Precise Shot in their rolls if they know they're firing in to melee. (Sometimes, like this last combat, you won't know, as the enemy charged after you specified an action. That's fine, and knowing who has Precise Shot helps me adjudicate.) I'll take care of cover, but if you think it might change between your action and when I look at the map, feel free to mention it OOC in your post.

![]() |

Amba does not have Precise Shot. I'll usually avoid shooting at any engaged targets, switching to melee in that case.

[Sarcasm]What's wrong with all of us? Where's the murderhoboing? Negotiating with monsters is for chumps![/sarcasm]
Well, this is going to be interesting. Good thing we all seem to be peaceniks ;)

![]() |

I'm not sure if Xukong is a "peacenik," what with its obsession with swords and strange views on life, but certainly civilized.

GM Crucible |

Hm.. I'll have to think on it, but probably not. It certainly isn't abandoned now, and we thus far have no evidence that it was abandoned at all. (What did happen to it?)

![]() |

I was asking because of the Scarab Sage goal of exploring ancient sites. I don't think it literally means abandoned, just not inhabited by the original owners recently. And what's better for exploring ancient sites tham time-travelling?

Yeah, I know it's for the SS's FJC. As I said, I'll think on it, and do a bit more research about the site.

![]() |

There's some groups that have a posting rate you just can't keep up with. (At least, I can't). It's probably different between PbP and a live multi-table special, where the pace between tables is a lot more equal.

![]() |

I'm happy with the pace myself, it's not a race.
>_>
<_<
Is it?
It's what, the second week and we're on the third encounter? Seems good to me. And I suppose the higher tiers did fly up to the top, didn't they?

![]() |

I wouldn't say we're slow. The usual template is some 7 encounters per scenario, so we have time.
Not sure about the calculations for progress work in between tables, but combat tends to end in 1-2 turns in higher levels. If a few of those tables do 1-3 posts per day I wouldn't be surprised if there were table that have already finished.

GM Crucible |

There are some delay encounters, such that if people finish a section too early they get an extra combat encounter. We've been finishing sections pretty close to the schedule, perhaps a day behind. So slightly slow (my fault for the holiday weekend), but close to expected.

![]() |

I assume there are no orcs of half-orcs in the cages. I'm asking for purposes of better communication. Perhaps orc language did not change much. If the serpentfolk made raids into the darklands, some might be around, so I thought I'd ask.

GM Crucible |

No, only humans. Bedraggled, scruffy, malnourished humans. Half-orcs wouldn't stand for that sort of treatment.

![]() |

Dun-dun-dun-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!

![]() |

I...have no idea what you're talking about now.

![]() |

I see. I've read a little about them, but I've never seen them in play before.

Another table has passed us an aid token!
When it's used (and anyone at the table can use it), it's passed to another table, so don't hoard it!
Aid tokens do ONE of the following (your choice):
[ooc](Bonuses are higher for higher subtiers, but that doesn't affect this table.)
* Aid Another: A Pathfinder agent helps you solve a puzzle, disable a trap, or accomplish some other task as if performing the aid another action (i.e., you get +2)
* Allied Offensive: A Pathfinder agent strikes a creature at the same time as the PC, increasing the damage dealt by one attack by 1d8 points. In addition, after the attack, anyone attacking the target is considered to be flanking it until the beginning of the attacker’s next turn.
* Burst of Healing: A Pathfinder agent heals all of the PCs of 1d6 points of damage. Alternatively, in any subtier the agent can instead cast neutralize poison, remove curse, or remove disease with a caster level equal to the table’s APL (minimum 5).
* Spellcasting Synergy: A Pathfinder agent casts a spell at the same time as the PC, increasing the save DC and caster level of the PC’s spell by 1.
* Timely Inspiration: A Pathfinder agent provides the efiects of a bard’s inspire courage bardic performance for 3 rounds. The competence bonus is +1.

![]() |

Wasn't there a notification a while back that increased the token's powers?
