I have not played this scenario before.
Flora is a halfling phytokineticist. She was born and raised in the Mwangi expanse by her mother, a Mwangi halfling. Her dad was a halfling explorer from Andoran who was never around when she grew up, so the only thing she really got from him was her wanderlust.
She basically blasts things with plants. When she's not doing that... scratch that, she's always doing that, at least until she gets another element to play with.
She wears a wood and feather tribal headdress that she will sometimes animate with a spirit of wood to scout for her. Elemental Whispers talent, osprey familiar
She joined the Society to see the world and possibly find her father.
Still have to see if there is anything she wants to purchase after her last adventure.
Reesa
|
I’ve not played the scenario before.
Reesa is a sweet, wonderful aasimar that always thinks the best of people. She is a true goody goody Silver Crusade type.
She is also quite flighty. She originally was going to specialized in Ranged magic but got bored by that and loved going on a couple adventures with summoner. So she changed her focus and brought out her innate ability to summon creatures herself. She could easily get bored again and focus on yet another part of her magic.

See all this?
These are all things Kali isn't.
She is a sardonic, shrewd, unflinchingly candid Kuthite nun out of Cheliax who wears more barbed chains than she does clothes, practices ritual ash baths that have permanently turned her skin literally black, and originally joined the Pathfinder Society after the untimely death of her old abbess.

I have not played nor GM'd any part if this scenario, so it's all fresh to me.
Scarlet is a travelling performer, musician, and acrobat from Varisia, She is always accompanied by her companion Poppy (a Lyrakien) a fellow entertainer/musician, and 'Rusty the Wonderdog' who is a rare Embeth Hound. Together they form a small travelling Troupe putting on magic shows, musical entertainment, and other sideshow/carnival acts.
In reality, they are not above acting as scallywags, rascals, and scoundrels - in cahoots with the Sczarni types, and affiliated with the less reputable members of The Exchange Gauril Karela lives!). Whilst Scarlet explains away her catlike appearance of soft downy fur in a tiger pattern and matching tail as being 'Catfolk', the truth is shes a Rakshasa blooded tiefling.
They aren't bad people, they are just Varisian carny folk. She's an honest woman just trying to carve out a slightly dishonest living.
The Lyrakien is a Familiar, Rusty is a mount/packbearer/occasional roleplay prop/circus performer

I have not played this scenario yet.
Otto is a rather serious fellow, fastidiously dressed, and continually checking to make sure that all the buttons on his tunic are lined up with the edge of a ruler. Talking with him, one soon forms the impression that he would much prefer to be at home, tending his garden, and that he comes by the adventurer's life rather reluctantly. "If you don't keep after them, the fields will become clogged with weeds! And the plants themselves, they run amok, this way and that, it doesn't matter if you have planted them in neat and tidy rows - they have no discipline. That's why they need me, to lend a guiding hand, to straighten them out. The natural world, left to itself - bah, pure chaos - we druids must impose ourselves, and by the very force of our will, even the plants, even the animals, all their wildness can be tamed, must be tamed. Then all will be well. At least for the moment, but we must remain vigilant, for their wildness ever seeks to find expression, and to escape from our guidance. Bah!"
Otto lets out a long sigh. "And there I would be, at home, tending the garden, if not for that cursed dog! ... I don't suppose you've seen him?" He gives a description of a missing dog that is so generic that it could easily describe almost any small furry quadraped. (in fact, he is describing another of my characters, a kitsune who spends all his time in fox form) "Yes, it's true, I promised my mother that I would find her dog, no matter what it took, and that I would not return home without him. How was I to know that it would become a quest of not days or weeks, but years? Poor mother. I wonder if she is even still alive, or if I will ever see her again, but I am a man of my word, and I will tread every inch of Golarion - and beyond - until I find that dog. He is a very bad doggy, no discipline at all!"
"But there you have it. One does not choose the quest, one's quest chooses you. I SHALL find that dog, if it's the last thing I do... I do wonder about my azaleas though," he sighs wistfully, "do you think anyone has been watering them?"

You all have my deepest apologies. I have not been the kind of GM I want to be recently. At first, I was sick, and then as I started to get back into the flow of things, some very nasty VO business (which you are probably all aware of from Flaxseed) exploded, and has been taking far too much of my mental energy for the last few days. I will strive to do better.

Don’t stress, Redelia. We are here. Get back when you are ready. No one can be prepared for the little chaos we had erupt recently!

My apologies to all for being absent the past few days - real life has intruded but I expect things should be much more workable from this point on. Thanks for your understanding.

This next post is a complicated one to construct because it consists of random tables to consult and things. Thursdays are my crazy, exhausting days until the end of this month, so I'm not fit to make that kind of post right now. I will get a post up tomorrow morning.

In light of the FAQ that was just published regarding upgrading companion's armor (see here), is it ok if I purchase some barding for my elasmotherium (and skip the two scrolls of mage armor mentioned last night)? No problem if you say no: I understand that the adventure is underway. The reason is that I had been holding off on buying him barding because he will grow to Large size when I hit level 7 (one adventure after this one) and I thought I would be spending extra gold to buy him Medium barding now - in light of this FAQ, this is no longer the case. Have to do a few calculations to figure out the cost but I'm pretty sure it will be Darkleaf Lamellar (leather) armor. Again, no worries if this feels like an unwarranted retcon.

Nice pick up on the FAQ!
I had always sold the smaller set and bought a new set, seems I was ripping myself off :p
Yes, me too, which is why in this case I had decided I'd just wait until he hit level 7 to get barding at all.
There's a few other interesting developments in this latest faq - nice to see that Pathfinder 2.0 hasn't caused them to forget about it entirely...
Otto O'Read
|
That's a minor enough adjustment that it's fine, Otto.
Thanks but never mind - I'm a few gold shy for the barding - I'll just stick with the scrolls of mage armor plan. Thanks.

Guys, I'm afraid I'm ill-suited to the style here. Please, no hard feelings, but I think I'm going to withdraw from this session. We've not gone very far. Perhaps it's not too late to find a replacement player.
Thank you for your understanding, and I wish you all success in the adventure.
| GM Redelia |
Long Beau,
Let me get back to you in a day or so, I need to look into the rules. We are over halfway-through the adventure; more like 3/4 of the way through if you calculate in certain ways. Depending which direction you guys go or what you choose to do, you may be about to walk into the room where the main story will move forward. It is definitely too late for someone else to join, but it may also be too late for you to withdraw without a partial chronicle.
"Long" Beau

If it turns out we've indeed passed the point of no return (Chronicle-wise), then I'll just gut it out till the end. I didn't think we'd made that much progress through the scenario.

Revealed areas have been reconnoitered and searched? Or just reconned?
Scarlet Scoundrel
|
Take 10s for a 22 as a minimum, and all detected for magic and evil
"Long" Beau
|
If the DC was 22 or less we discovered whatever was there, got it.
If we're under no time constraint, and when the tactical situation permits, "Long" Beau wouldn't mind contributing to a more thorough search of the areas we're rushing through now.
