Fabian will just take one of the potions of Cure Serious Wounds, as agreed. Somebody make sure to take those potions of Lesser Restoration and that Chime of Opening...! Could be very useful.

3rd level: Dispel Magic, Magic Circle Against Evil, Wind Wall, Fly, Water Breathing

He'd also like to find and buy a miniature gold shovel worth 10gp, if he can find such a thing. This is the focus for Create Pit, and it's possible that Quednys or Aravashnial may have access to one. If not, he'll try to find somebody to commission one.

That will take him most of the previous day and cost 530gp in scribing.

You set out within the hour. The dark skies over Kenabres roil and swirl, deep rolls of thunder echoing amidst the rubble. The entire city seems to be holding its breath...waiting. Irabeth gives you one last nod before leading her troops away to the north, leaving you to your task....

A large stretch of buckled ground and rubble stretches before the Gray Garrison, an aptly named structure that squats across from the open ground that once stood before the Cathedral of Saint Clydwell. That cathedral is no more—nothing remains but a towering mound of rubble and a deep, jagged rift in the ground.

Two hideously obese, naked men armed with scythes guard the Gray Garrison’s entrance.

Sjurd, check the map for scale and distances. They do not see you as yet, you are placed more or less as on the map. You are looking through the rubble to see the front of the Gary Garrison. Each square = 5'.


Can we see if there are archers or crossbowmen on the roof of the garrison? I am thinking potion of invisibility, haste, and silence on coin and wait for me to do my thing? Hopefully, I can take at least one out in surprise/first round.

Kazul's plan has merit, we could start a fight from a distance to draw them out, but then no element of surprise and no telling what they might call as reinforcements...


There is nothing to Fabian's knowledge that would explain what you are seeing in the bloated men. A new type of demon perhaps...

There is no sign of archers or any other guards besides the two in front of the door.

Kazul hesitates when he hears the word demon and directs his comments to the Mage. "Those might be tougher to kill in one shot. What can you tell me about them? Can they see invisible?"

The bloated form of the noble Nyserian shrieks in pain as Kazul suddenly appears out of nowhere and slices its abdomen nearly clean through. With a scream of hatred, both creatures heft their scythes and prepare to defend the doors!

Sjurd moves forward [AD14] and begins chanting. Uli charges forward and attempts to bite the remaining creature.

Wow, these guys are tough. If that crit confirmed, I did 34 damage with cold iron falchion and took him only to about 1/2 health, according to bar. Oh boy!

Fabian moves up near to Sjurd, watching closely for signs of other guards.

Your attacks seem to hurt them, Bollwerk with Radiance, and Kazul most of all! The rest of you have a tough time causing serious injury.

'them': AC/T/FF 16/10/16

'Nyserian' screams in agony as the combined attacks of the party nearly finish him. Mouth frothing with bloody spittle, 'Nyserian' backs up to the doors and begins to shake. Suddenly a crack appears in the center of the man's face, growing quickly to split the skin down the middle. A horrific bipedal form steps out of the skin: humanoid in general form, with a huge worm-like head. Just as quick, the demon absorbs the falling skin into itself, healing some of its wounds. Once its disgusting transformation is complete, it lashes out with its scythe at Kazul, the blade whistling high over his head.

The obscene form of Lord Hulrun also steps back and casts a spell. Dark energies flow from its body, washing over you and its companion. Cast Inflict light Wounds, Mass. DC16 Fort save or take 6 pts dmg, everyone inside 30'.

ROUND TWO: everyone; demons


Spell not affected by Silence on coin? It has a V component. In case, it still goes off, Fort save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26..if spell, does not go off use this as roll as attack.

Kazul continues the attack on his foe, weaving and bobbing, trying to avoid the scythe.

Pretty sure I gave out cold iron arrows in Aravashnial's stash. Good point, Kazul, forgot about the silenced coin. Let's run with it for now, I'll make it up forthwith.


Farasha's arrows and Uli's slams have little effect on the Hulrun-demon. Kazul, on the other hand , continues to carve away on the Nyserian-demon with his cold iron falchion.

One demon lashes out with his scythe and slices Kazul across the arm. 7 hp dmg Kazul. The second misses Uli by a Worldwound mile.

Fabian brandishes the wand of magic missiles, and fires one at the demon on the right, unless it's already down, in which case he'll target the one on the left.

Kazul slays the Nyserian-demon with a well-placed strike. The Hulrun-demon is surrounded by steels and claws, taking solid hits from Farasha's arrows and Bollwerk wielding Radiance. Uli, Sjurd, and the Eagles hit the demon, but its damage resistance shrugs off most of the blows.

Much like the first one, the Hulrun demon splits its skin, absorbing the bloody flesh into itself, and healing some of the damage dealt!
