Yeah this is one of those hard situationw where if the scene focuses on an individual character (or is guided by there primary actions) its hard to to do much but exposite until that character moves the scene. Understandable if life gets in the way, just a hard situation on a pbp.
Val has turned out to be quite a lot more interactive than originally envisaged, but that's probably a good thing given the PbP format where someone who doesn't speak much finds it hard to feel a part of things.

Rae, good to hear from you I thought we'd lost you. I, as a player, would love to see more about Rae and her personality. If you could post her thoughts on feeling 'out of her comfort zone' then that would be great!
5, could we retroactively change your role at the party to something where you can interact more? Perhaps the 'dumb Selonian eye candy' doesn't understand Basic all that well so you're on hand to translate? I'm sure we can find you something to do that means you can feel more a part of things. You could even be a partner in the 'new money consortium' with Tok instead of the protocol droid.
Tok, just so my intent is clear, the following is a question where I just want to find out information, not to challenge you as a player or your behaviour: you seem to respond quickly to posts in general where a question is asked, such as OGGM's query last night about whether players were still interested. Is there a reason why you don't update the Gameplay thread with as much speed?
Well I don't think me being a partner will work in so much that I think we still get the side eye for droid empowerment but playing "translator" might work ;P
I don't like half assing a post ...especially in a system I'm still learning. It's easy to post a "sorry, yeah, I'm here," if that makes sense. I can do better, though.

Thanks! It has been ups and downs, I had to spend a good deal of yesterday in the hospital (third trip in three weeks), but I'm hopeful that the worst is behind me!

You shouldn't force yourself to do anything but you also haven't seemed super interested, no judgement there I've left my share of games. I just don't want to hold on to hope that this is going to continue if the the tank is running on empty as it were...
Now I'm not the GM so I have zero control over the game, but I do have the power to voice my opinion, so with respect Tok unless your bender has been non-stop since July 25th, you have had plenty of time to post, just seemingly no inclination.
That's entirely your prerogative, but your actions (or lack thereof) have an effect on the other people playing the game.
I would be sad to leave this game, I've really enjoyed it, but no matter how good a GM's game is, without commitment from players it will fall by the way (which goes doubly so for a PbP game).
This being the second time in as many months that we've brought this up, as '5' says, if you're not in to it, please just call it so we can move on, be it re-recruiting or throwing the towel in.

Sorry guys, I've still been battling health issues. I've already had to leave a few games but have been hoping that this wouldn't be one that would be compromised. :(
So in my mind there are a few of options at this point:
1. See if we can recruit some additional bodies and fade out folks who are struggling. (Maybe Rae/Tok is there but quiet while the other characters are doing their thing. If the players return by the next "scene" or chime in then they are still welcome but if there is silence for a certain amount we assume they are gone.)
2. Cut anyone who can't make the basic posting requirements of the game the recruit to fill. (This is the "harshest" solution, clearly)
3. Pack the game in. We didn't have a lot of luck when we last recruited, and if the game is struggling it can be hard to get it back on its feet.
It has been almost a year since we last attempted a recruitment, and we got one response from a player who basically never really played. So so we even think response would be warmer now? Hard to say.
We also haven't heard from the GM about how he is feeling at this point, he may just want to pack it in? So yeah...that is what I see shaking down.
All things being equal I would say option 1, hand wave the character introductions assumed they were added to our group by the contractor and this mission is our "getting to know you" period. My 2 credits.
I've bee disappointed with the flow of this as well. I am inclined to go with '5's Option One. If I'm not mistaken, Valkyr may have someone in mind?
Rae, you need to take car of your health issues, that certainly comes first.
Tok, I don't want to criticize you if your bender is related to a personal issue, but there is an obligation to the other players in a game to say whether or not you can be a regular contributor. If personal reasons take you out of a game, be kind enough to say so. We have been waiting for you based on the fact that you are a player in this game, and we want you to contribute - Tok has been a very interesting character. But be honest with yourself and us.
If either of you need time, we can certainly 'fade' you into the background until such time as you are ready to come back.
I'm sorry for any delays, and if it sounded like I was aiming for sympathy. The bender isn't a troubled one, it's "Brooklyn public school teacher on vacation" and nothing more. I'm just very rarely home, where I can look through the rules and decide on a course of action. If I seem disinterested, it's more of a confusion as to what I should have Tok do. I don't want to hog the spotlight OR cause delays, you know?
I see Rae is working the help and Val one of the dukes. Perhaps have Tok work the guests?
Well I am keen to keep going if possible. If there are say 3 of us involved and posting then that should keep the post rate high enough to be engaging!

As far as Recruitment goes, there's another FFG Star Wars game that just finished recruiting. They got 8 applicants and took 6. It's not hard to imagine that we could dig up another 1-3 people.

Pardon my intrusion, but I thought to share my two cents' worth. Hope I did not step on any toes by doing so.
I was more suggesting that there was general interest - I didn't read any of their characters to suggest whether any of them might be a good fit.
Actually, the first and third player expressed general interest (Spazmodeus, I believe, is or was in a game that seems to have stalled or stopped, while xyrophobic is the GM in the game OGGM and I are in, having taken over from the previous one). Xynen did submit a specific character, but given how the recruitment thread included all three campaign books, he made a Force-user.
Regardless, one of your players seems to have someone in mind, so you may not need to go through the re-recruitment process. I just thought to suggest an alternative that might expedite things. :-)

Tok, I wouldn't worry about 'taking over' in the parts were you're supposed to as the face of the group. This is just such a scene. Start with the Duke and make your deal, then you and or everyone can work the guests. Just remember the goal: you're to fond out why this Duke quit working with Teemo, to present it to the other Duke tomorrow.

Guys, I apologize greatly for inconsistent posting. Work has become very busy and getting the kids through school is turning out to take a large amount of time. I prefer a regular pace, and a semi-quick one, but it has become difficult as of late.
One thing I will guarantee: If I can no longer do this, I will let everyone know. I will NOT just disappear. If it ever goes to 3+ days without hearing from me, send me a PM.

So it looks like we lost Tok and so I am wodering what we should do? I feel like I keep stepping in to do some of the face stuff (like move convos along) but I don't have the character for it. It seems like our post rate has slowed pretty bad...so...what do we do?
