Hooked Horseman of Magnimar Escapes!
While being transported from Magnimar to Habe's Sanatorium, Trevol Greenway, known as the Hooked Horror of Magnimar for riding down his victims with an ogre hook and then hanging them like meat, is believed to have escaped when his wagon was assaulted by the goblins along the Brinestump Marshes. His body was not found amongst the dead. Authorities seek assistance in finding the fugitive. For details, speak to Sheriff Hemlock. Only the brave need apply.

Ourias finishes off the frog in front of him, its muscular legs spasming violently in its death throes.

Since Lars is only flanking red, we'll direct the attack there.

Despite taking an unorthodox swing, Lars' blade makes contact and manages to cut deep, finishing off the frog on the raft.

Is this referring to a keyworded submerged? Which book is this in?

Core Rulebook, in the Environment section under Aquatic Terrain.

There is no discussion of attacks from boats, but there is a section for "Attacks from Land" which should apply to anyone on the boat, since there isn't really any functional difference between standing on the shore and standing on a boat (if anything standing on a tippy raft would be more difficult):

Now that the frog is dead, Morthak pushes the corpse off the boat and climbs back in the boat. He shakes the water off himself like a dog.

I'm assuming that would take a full round.

Atsu, being already wounded, tries to fend off any other attack from the frog

Total defense

RE: I'm assuming that would take a full round.

Sure, that seems fair. Climbing at 1/4th speed is a move action, which may be the easiest way to think of climbing out of water, and removing the corpse is a standard action.

Attack: 1d2 ⇒ 2
The last frog attempts to bite Lars like a great white popping out of the water, but misses.

As the beast leaps out at him, Lars swings his blade wildly in an effort to deter it from swallowing him whole. Still, he put his full strength into the blow, so even a glancing blow would likely do some serious damage.

Lars' mighty swing takes out the last frog, leaving a bloody pool in the newly created wake.

Combat over!

Morthak clambers out of his armor and tries to wring the water out. He then begins to check his body for leeches and other things that might have stuck to him while he was in the water.

"Don't think much of swamps," he grumbles. "Let's keep moving."

Once the group is back underway Morthak takes a few minutes to resharpen his daggers.

Morthak inspects his body and gladly finds only dirt and seaweed.

Samantha Ozrick wrote:

The old flat-bottomed boat lies hidden, concealed by reeds and nearly submerged. The boat has a gaping hole in its side just above the waterline and is upside down.

Halfling U. Rogue (Knife Master) 2 | HP: 16/20 | AC: 17 T:15 F:12 CMD:14 | F: +1, R: +7, W: +2 | Init: +4 | Perc: +9, S.M. +6 | Speed 30ft |

Morthak gets back in the water and peers into the hole.

Morthak investigates the water logged boat and finds a slimy box. Unfortunately, it's too heavy for him to bring to the surface, especially with the challenge of maintaining a grip.

With a grumble, Lars removes his armor, his blade, and his shirt, before joining Morthak in the water.

Swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

He swims over to the sunken boat to help his comrade get the box out.

Combined, the two of you are able to bring a (locked)chest to the surface.

Morthak's head pops up above water.

"Anyone have rope? There's something here that can be pulled up."

I didn't buy rope because I couldn't handle the weight.

If anyone has rope Morthak will try to tie it around the box and have the group lift it out.

If that doesn't work we could try to flip the boat over or hack through the bottom.

Oops, ninja'd!

Once the box is on the raft, Morthak comes back out and begins to work on the box. He spends a couple minutes examining it, then pulls out his tools and gets to work on the lock.

I will take 20 (for a total 28) to look for traps on the box. After that if there are no traps I can take 20 for a total of 30 on disable device. Otherwise, I need to disable any traps:

disable device (remove traps): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

Lars climbs back aboard and silently watches as Morthak gets to work, curious to see what water logged treasure they acquired.

No traps are found. Just hinges and locks that have corroded from being under water. Morthak is able to open it though, taking his time. As it opens, stained water pours out to reveal the following: what appears to be some water-logged food items, some clothes, and some items wrapped in cloth. Inside the cloth is a short sword that somehow remains pristine and a wand carved from elm with an ebony handle, that shows some signs of bloating.

Both the short sword and the wand radiate with magic. Although the wand appears to be leaking magical energy.

"Both are magical, but the wands...leaky?" she says, scratching her head. "Maybe we should dry it out or something? I'm not very well versed in these things yet."

Could I use Prestidigitation to squeegee the water out of the wand or something?

Since water damage warps the wood itself, prestidigitation won't do much. Mechanically, think of the wand similar to Ron's in the Prisoner of Azkaban. It works, but has some risk to it.

That could be really helpful. I don't use evocation spells unfortunatly, as they cause damage to people and goods. But this one is quite useful, as it hurts only the one you target with a projectile of pure magical energy.I guess someone else should use it

You're the only one in the party that can use it without a UMD check, and nobody in the party has any ranks in UMD. Even though it's in your opposition school you can still use it normally; what schools you can cast don't affect the use of scrolls and wands.

"What about the sword?"

Short Sword Spellcraft DC 18:
It is a Short Sword +1.

We're going to do some revisionist history and make the wand a wand of snowball(Level 1, 18 charges). The flexibility of buying and selling magic items for custome gear is much more limited here so it's important that it's of some use.
