| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
Sevence relaxes after the fight, breathing heavily. "That was harder than I thought it would be. This Sorcerer. He must be stopped."
Sevence takes his time, letting his wounds heal before realizing that a couple on his brow and the back of his hands won't heal. "It...it can't be..." He recognizes his wounds as that of the Stigmata of a Holy Vindicator. "I have been recognized by Iomedae Herself..." Sevence says a prayer to himself before he joins his companions with looting.
"If no one objects, I'd like that sword and that suit of full plate. Much better than what I have."
Quinn Arbalest
|
"Help yourself friends. Perhaps this equipment will make our enemies downfall all the faster. I'll take that extra Falchion, just in case I have need of it's elemental power. Let's get going, I'm quite mistaken if we don't have more skulls to crack before all is said and done."
Is it possible for me to spend some of my cash for a Handy Haversack? I haven't really been keeping track but I would imagine we have about 50 tons of loot at this point. Might need somewhere to put it.
| Smokey Big Boom |
"Elemental power? What elemental power Quinn? I don't see anything different about that sword than the one on your belt."
Metagame knowledge, we don't know what these things do if anything. Detect Magic will tell us what these things are and then UMD is needed to see how to activate them unless DM is willing to sidestep these issues because we don't have any casters with Detect Magic. I can only use it on potions.
Quinn Arbalest
|
Quinn blinks at the blade for a moment and then back to Smokey.
"Right you are little master. How odd, I thought I could see it crackle with energy. Must have been a trick of the light. Anywho, I'll keep it handy at any rate. Can't have enough blades for where we're going I'll wager."
| Sindra Disdal |
Sindra will put on the armor and toss her chain mail into her backpack.
Here let me see what I can do although I am not that versed in magical arts
She will try but can not detect anything. Dam It would seem that I am only that good when it comes to wands
| The Nameless GM |
Roland walks up to you guys as you loot the stuff. "Should probably check the tags. They usually say what abilities stuff has." Sevence checks the tag on a couple of weapons and armor, showing you that the bow is Icy Burst, Sevence's full plate is Champion, etc. etc.
"We'll need to sneak into the Sorcerer's tower if we have any chance of getting this guy. You'll need to cut through the Mines of Avarice. Try talking to the Dwarves. You might find yourselves some allies."
Quinn Arbalest
|
"A common error Smokey. I've never seen weapons with labels like this. Very helpful though." he says before turning to the group at large. "Which direction shall we take to the mines Roland?"
Quinn Arbalest
|
"Most fortuitous, thank you Roland. Let's go gang" Quinn says, walking toward the gates to the mines.
Snow yips happily and follows along.
| Sindra Disdal |
I will scout ahead, Sindra will say with a small smile.

I am the night!!!!!

Quinn Arbalest

"He has some Mithril Chain. Perhaps that armor is stronger? I have a had time knowing metal qualities. I am not a dwarf and never enjoyed staying in caves overlong."
Quinn Arbalest
|
Quinn, upon hearing of the dwarves mistreatment is outraged.
"We cannot suffer these Orcs, nor permit the bondage of these people. I say we set up an ambush and take them down. The dwarves may aid us in our quest. Indeed, they may be some of the few trustworthy folk we could encounter in this strange land." Quinn says in earnest.
How many Orcs were there and in what kind of formation? he inquires.
| Sindra Disdal |
Sindra will sneak forward a little ahead of the part before throwing a dagger at one of the orcs for her hiding spot.

She is vengeance. She is the night. She. Is. BATELF! And she's got good stealth rolls.
Without so much as a whisper, she's able to sneak up on and get a good throw at the dumb orc. A good, solid hit, and the Orc freaks out as he has a dagger in his back for a second and then it disappears!
The leader and the other orc point behind the injured one. "That shadow's shiny! INTRUDERS!!" And with that shout, Init!!

Quinn draws his bow and, with deadly aim looses two arrows at the Orc Leader. Snow barks menacingly and charges the Orc closest to Sindra.
Quinn:
Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 2 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 4 = 18

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
| Sindra Disdal |
Sindra will come out from the shadows after being discovered. She will pull out her whip before twirling it around a little before slinking back into the shadows. She melts into them almost as though she was never there. Then she swings her whip at the injured orc with a cackle.
sneak: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26

| The Nameless GM |
And with that, the orc Sindra sneaked doesn't even get a chance to say "ouch." Of course this leaves the other two knowing where Sindra is.
"GET THEM!!" Orc Leader knows where you are, and Quinn's arrows just bounce off his armor.
The smaller orc turns and attacks at Sindra, enraged his ally has fallen.
To Hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Greataxe Damage: 1d12 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
Sevence swings his sword and places the pommel on the top again. "Domine, virtus fidem." Vindicator's Shield. AC is now a 28/27/15.
Sevence prepares himself and gets into flanking position for the next orc. No attack this round, but I'll go up against the next smaller orc.
Quinn Arbalest
|
Not to be deterred, Quinn draws more arrows for the punishment of the slavers. He aims again at the Orc Leader, determined to pierce his filthy hide. Snow circles around behind to help protect Sindra. The wolf barks deeply and snaps at the Orc.
(I'm assuming we now all have flanking bonuses. Let me know if that is incorrect. Also I forgot to use my new levelled up attack stats, I've improved them for this round.)

Sindra winces as she is hit pretty hard with the axe and attempts to flip backwars before swinging again at the orc.

Quinn takes aim again, hoping to thin the enemy ranks. Snow, blood dripping from his maw presses his assault against the Orc Leader.

| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
Using the same mind as that of the GM, the orcs are dead. Good work Quinn.
Sevence raises his sword and lets loose a healing channel of energy. Channel Heal: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 5) = 18 As he does so, his blade bursts into a silver gray flame. "This will be useful in the near future."
"Let us move on. We need to find this Ragnorok the Emancipator if we are to succeed."
Quinn Arbalest
|
"That sounds well to me Sevence. Do these Orcs have anything untarnished?"
| The Nameless GM |
Sindra's able to find about 20 gold pieces, but everything else the Orcs have on them is either broken or designed for orcs. Unless you wanna use a skull helmet.
Pressing onward, the team of three is quickly able to find Ragnarok the Emancipator's base of operations. Outside there are more dwarves working to make weapons, armor, and even a few siege engines.
As you approach, a dwarf with very ornate armor and a massive warhammer approaches you.
"Greetings, warriors. I am Ragnarok the Emancipator. I have heard tale of your fight with the Handsome Sorcerer. We need your help, and you need ours. We have a machine that turns weapons and armor into money, along with offering weapons and armor. Please, use what resources we have to help in the cause."
Quinn Arbalest
|
"We shall take what help we can master dwarf!"
How much gold will we get for offloading our plunder and loot so far?
| The Nameless GM |
Youse can sell the stuff to the machine for half the cost if you bought it. Just so you know the prices, here are what they cost if you're selling them:
+1 weapon: 1,000g
+2 weapon: 2,000g
+3 weapon: 3,000g
+1 armor: 500g
+2 armor: 1,000g
+3 armor: 1,500g
Remember, a +1 Flaming weapon has a +1 ability and a +1 enhancement, so it's a total of +2. Do the math.
Oh, and the machine also does enchantments! But it costs full price.
Quinn Arbalest
|
*Scrolls through a million pages because he never tracked loot*
Quinn Arbalest
|
Guess I could sell my Masterwork Greatsword and Breastplate? Won't get too much for them but better than nothing.
| The Nameless GM |
That's the spirit!
While youse is doin this, a dwarf runs up to Ragnarok, out of breath and hurt. "Sir! Sir! That abomination is on a rampage again!"
"Damn, that's the third time this week. We need all the troops we can muster or this will fail." Ragnarok looks to the adventurers. "We need an Orc Captain taken care of. If you help us, we'd be eternally grateful and would be willing and able to compensate for you."
| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
Sevence sells his +1 longsword and +1 full plate for a total of 2232g and 5 silver. "Sir Ragnarok, for your hospitality and generosity, taking care of an Orc Captain is the least I'd be willing to do."
He turns to his allies. "I plan on taking on this troublesome Orc. Who's with me?"
Quinn Arbalest
|
"Let's do it." says Quinn. Snow barks agreeably.
| The Nameless GM |
"Good to hear. The Captain makes his hide in that direction." Ragnarok points off opposite the direction you came in. "If you require rest, stay here for a little longer. We will provide what we can."
Ragnarok calls a few others around. "Prepare the troops! We march on the Handsome Sorcerer's fortress within a fortnight!"
A cheer goes up and the Dwarves get ready. Ragnarok turns back to you. "We march on your command. We will distract his main forces while you sneak in through the back."
Quinn Arbalest
|
I don't think I have the cash either way to get myself some Mithril Full-Plate. Best to carry on I think.
"Ready when you are" Quinn says to Sindra and Sevence. "Looks like we'll have more Orc necks to hew at than we care for before the day is out." he continues, scratches Snow behind the ears.
Quinn Arbalest
|
I'll buy some Blunt Arrows (20) and another lot of regular Arrows (20) before we go on. Save me getting wrecked by Undead.
| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
Mithril lowers the weight class, but it doesn't allow someone to wear armor they aren't normally proficient in. You'd have to have Heavy Armor Proficiency in order to use Mithril Full Plate. You could get a mithral breastplate though. One of those is 4200 gold, and enchantments are 1000 gold for +1 and 4000 for +2.
Sevence notices Quinn eying some of the more powerfully enchanted armor. "If you wish, I will gladly put some of my funding towards your purchases."
Quinn Arbalest
|
"I appreciate your offer. But I will do well enough with my trusty breastplate of steel. It's averted blows that may have otherwise felled me on our journey thus far. I see no reason to cast it and both our treasures aside, despite the excellence of Dwarven craftsmanship." he says, with a final look at the coats of true silver on display.
| Sevence of the Order of Truth |
"Then I do believe we will be ready in just a moment."
Sevence sells his old sword and his old suit of full plate. 1007g for the sword, 1250g for the armor, total of 2257g for my sales.
Sevence buys for himself and his party a wand of Cure Light Wounds, sliding it into his belt.
"Let's move. Evil won't defeat itself."
