You won't drag me down that path... Nononono....
*Shakes head*
Aleris Somciel
Well I'd thought about posting about trying to a grapple check on whoever she (randomly) caught up to first...then maybe doing a post about crashing into Deseri...but if the magic's worn off Deseri then it's worn off the others and if she has enough time to stop and call out to the others then Aleris has enough time to stop and not run into her. So I'll have to save my hijinks for another time :P
Deseri
Also my first instinct to answer you with was Crypt runs. Clearly

The experience table is now up to date. You are 85% of the way to level 3.
The treasure table is now up to date. You have found treasure equivalent to 124% of 8 level 3 characters' wealth by level, so you are outpacing the wealth by level curve so far. If everything was distributed equally to all characters, of course. And assuming no usable items get sold, which drops such items' value by half.

Will there be down time to let me retrain my trait so that Appraise is a class skill for me?
Polux
Team,
I wanted to let you guys know I am going on vacations from next Sunday onward, for about two weeks.
I'm travelling with the family tomorrow, before the vacations start proper, so I should be able to keep up the posting until Sunday, but after that I cannot guarantee it since I will probably be immersed in tepid sea or pool water, hopefully with some sort of alcoholic beverage closeby :D
As always, bot me as needed - go GANG!
Aleris Somciel
Retraining Rules - Basically it depends on what the person is looking to retrain.
@Polux - Have fun and enjoy your vacations! :)

Also, a note. I'm fighting a stomach thing yet again. I'm going to have to get doctored for this at some point when I get some time. But, it usually take 2-3 days to get back to normal, so I'll be a bit scarce until I'm right again!

Oh, get better Gerald. I'm so sorry that you've had so many gut issues lately.
:(
Hmm
Deseri
The only trait that page mentions is racial traits and that is 20 nonconsecutive days.
Harmose Al-Nefer
Samy, both Bret and I have gone through the House of Pentheru gameplay taking notes. It's taking us a while to process, and it will likely take me a bit to compose.
However, I think that I have now realized that we have missed stuff. There's haunts we need to take care of, a temple to consecrate, and quite possibly an entire other tomb to find. We found Penthuru the Younger's tomb. But the Crypt has pictures and images of both Pentheru the Younger and the Elder. Where is the Elder's tomb?
My post won't happen today, but I'm processing it now.

Hmm, the retraining rules mention alternate racial traits but that's a race customization thing, it's not the same thing as traits. Interesting that traits aren't mentioned at all, considering they came into play as early as the APG. Still, since they are essentially half-feats, I think it's fair to retrain them in half the time it takes a feat. A feat takes 5 days, so a trait would take 2.5 days, rounded up to 3. And I think we will have upcoming 3 days downtime before the next dungeon, but don't take that as confirmation yet. I'll get back to you on when the 3 days is, but keep in mind the retraining for when I give info on that.
Deseri
Ok that works for me. Just let me know when I can get to the retraining so I can be a little more helpful.
Harmose Al-Nefer
I actually thought pretty much everything was done. Link me to posts that make you think there's undone stuff and I'll check if we missed anything.
We had found a key in the office that we never used, and we never buried the guards in order to settle the haunt at the guardhouse.
Mainly, it was the realization that the Crypt was covered with statues and pictures of Pentheru the Elder, but we never found his body. Surely Pentheru the Younger would have had time to inter it, as the elder predeceased him?
Also looking at the map, there were unfinished side passages that we never examined. There may have been secret doors that we missed. I was going to load Kito up with Detect Secret Doors and have her walk through that whole area again in case there's another sub floor not on the map.
On the other hand, if the GM says we're done, all we have to do is settle the haunt and makes sure that the church knows the temple needs to be reconsecrated.
Deseri
Wasn't there a collapsed hallway too? On a side note Hamy have you not gotten enough drama out of this place? Just so you know I am not poking at you and I support more drama. You are fun to read. So much angst! My favorite genre and I sincerely mean that.

I won't mind spoiling that the key was to something you already opened in another manner. I don't think it would enhance the game for you to keep trying the key in every lock you encounter in the future. ;)
You're right about the haunt in the first floor foyer still regenerating if the guards are not buried respectfully. I'd forgotten that, good memory. So that one is still open to do, if you choose to do so.
Doing some research, you discover that Pentheru the Elder passed while the estate was still being built, and thus he had to be interred elsewhere (the crypts of the estate had not yet been dug at that point). I had to go and check, but yes, admirably enough, the adventure writeup actually does address this detail.
Let's say that you checked the estate with a final once-over with Detect Secret Doors before departing. Nothing further turned up. The side passages in the crypt are dead ends. The crypt was unfinished and likely would have been larger had the Plague not interrupted things.
Kito the Scholar
Alright, then it is just the clean up on the haunt in the foyer that needs to be done.
Nothing interesting about that, so I would be willing for you to just say we did it, after which Mr. And Mrs. Asp snuck back in to start their happy life together.
No need to roleplay through that.

If no one else speaks up in our rather active group of players about this, handwave the scene.
__
I can even paint it for you. The scene: The gatehouse. Focus in on the faces and sweaty backs of Turel, Polux and Ra-Khefer shovel with looks of determination. Pan to Deseri, who's stopped spinning and looks on with a sad expression on her face, and Aleris, who is deep in prayer. Show Qari watching from the sidelines, and looking around nervously for whatever monster has newly moved into the neighborhood. Throughout the whole scene, there is a voiceover by Harmose, commenting on the cycle of life and death, and how sometimes good people can get swept up onto a dark path not of their choosing. But now these men have been laid to rest and their souls can find peace again.
End of voiceover. Pan in on Harmose, holding Wenet, scratching her behind the ears, and then smiling at Aleris.
The voiceover comes up one last time. "Maybe peace is within all of our grasp, if you just stay on the right path long enough."
Harmose Al-Nefer
Huh... Maybe I should post that!
Qari Falexia
looks good to me, Harmose. I am back on the mend, so I'll be jumping back in for our next scene! Thanks for your patience.

Hey Samy et al. --
I'll be at a con from Wednesday through Sunday, and I'll be GMing most of that time. Feel free to bot me.
Hmm
Kito the Scholar
Samy,
I will be at the same con as HMM and GMing almost as much. Feel free to bot me as well.

I think since we're not in any plot-critical combat scenario going on, it's fine if Harmose and Kito are just off somewhere and not present. Taking care of their Relationship roll stuff for example. The other six can keep RPing in the meantime.
I echo Aleris' "enjoy your time!"
I also added some XP for Day 8. I had forgotten to give you XP when Polux and Deseri reached Relationship 6 thresholds with Velriana and Farhaan. You're getting very close to level 3 now.
Aleris Somciel
Yeah, this is a good point for some downtime RP for whoever is inclined and free to post (Polux is still on vacation if I remember right, so I think it's just five of us for the most part).
I'll try and get a post up soon but since I'm working tonight it may not be until sometime tomorrow. I'll also try and at least get the ball rolling regarding figuring out what we want to sell and keep and stuff then, too.
Kito the Scholar
Have fun with the downtime. Rest of today I've got to spend on convention preparation, after that I'm at the convention.
Hopefully I got everything in that last post. Talk again after the convention!
Polux
What are you going to GM Kito?
Polux is just a curious fella ya know... :D
Kito the Scholar
Sun Orchid Scheme and Traitor's Lodge. I've GMed both of them in the past, which helps a lot.
Qari Falexia
Qari was more interested in the total of the gold they had warned so far. She looked at all the items that were considered to be sold. She agreed with all of the calls, but hesitated when she saw the flail made out of that strange fancy metal. "Ive heard rumors about certain monsters being vulnerable to particular kinds of metal. I say someone keeps that flail because, when we need it, we will really need it!"
Before heading into the next area, she wanted a full accounting to see if she might be interested in doing a bit of shopping for herself. "I don't want to spend all of my shares on alcohol with Farhaan," she grins.
Harmose Al-Nefer
He didn't ask me what I was GMing. This amuses me.
Stolen Heir -- "Die, 'ounds of the aristocracy!"
Overflow Archives -- "Wait. Where's the leak?"
Consortium Compact -- "Don't just think outside the box..."
Way too many quests.

Posted in the wrong place! Hope you can catch it, Gerald!
Hmm
Qari Falexia
Lol, aww fudgesicles! Didn't catch it in time! Doh!
Deseri
Qari just wiggle your tail and all will be forgiven. Also I love that you said fudgesicles. That is an awesome word :D
Deseri
Bah! It ate part of my post. My phone hates this website.
Anyways. Harmose don't be jealous Polux is just trying to steal your woman ;)
Harmose Al-Nefer
Kito and I are back, sort of, but it's a holiday and both of us are unpacking and decompressing. Happy holidays to the others in the US!
Hmm

Happy holidays to the US peeps! Happy Monday to everyone else!

No worries Samy, thanks for checking in!
Finally getting a chance to try and look over the treasure list; I believe Ra-Khefer claimed the adamantine heavy flail and Deseri was interested in taking the Scarab Shield from him, correct? I think she's the only other one in the party who could use it anyway.
Other than that, it looks like most of the magical items we found have already been claimed except for the Dead Man's Headband. Unless Polux or someone else really wants it, I think we could probably sell it. I also see some Scale Mail +1 on the list that hasn't been claimed; where did we find that?
Everything else on the list appears to be jewelry and other things that could be sold. The silk wedding dress, the hope chest, and the self-portrait of Ariseti might need to go to specialized buyers, but the other items should be easy enough to find a buyer for unless someone wants to keep something purely for aesthetic reasons :)
